Chapter 6

Louissa

"Elder sister! Where's Eldest Sister? How come she's not here?" Lorin asked while we are getting some roses from my private garden. I gave him a pat on the head and I smiled at him. 

"Eldest sister has to do something so she won't be able to join us today, why? is it boring with us just here?" I asked as I pretended to have a sad expression on my face. Lorin immediately shook his head and she gave me a hug.

"No! It's not like that Elder Sister! It's just that this is a first that Eldest sister wasn't able to come here and play" He said. I smiled and I hugged him too.

"Hahaha, don't worry, I'm just joking Eon," I said. Then I carried him into my arms and we started to walk back to their house to join Allein and the others.

"Hello Elder sister!" Lionne greeted and she ran to hug me too. I hugged her back then she took the roses from me and she placed them on the vase in the middle of the table.

I looked towards the direction of Eldest sister's private garden. I took a deep breath then I sat down at the table and we had our tea party.

Damaria

I walked to my garden, and there in the middle, there is a big monument with a lot of names written there. 

I touched the stone and Emily's name was engraved in the stone along with some other names of my siblings that I don't really hate unlike some of them. I requested this monument along with this Garden to be built when I had slain a Dragon that nested on the Mountain of the territory.

This Monument is for the future generation to see and know about the tragedies these children have met. I had a garden built within it so the flowers that are dedicated to these children won't die. That's why my Garden has various flowers, it's their favorite flowers. I looked at a space there near the lavenders, and so I brought the Peony seeds that I bought and I planted the Peonies there. It's Emily's favorite after all.

"I'm sorry if this is the only thing big sister was able to do for you. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to save you from your deaths" I said. I caressed the stone as I speak.

"I'm sorry because I am the cause of your demise. I'm sorry if I have to kill you guys" I said as I clenched my fist. I watered all of the flowers first and then I started walking towards the entrance of the garden.

As I am about to leave, I felt a strong gust of wind. I looked back and there, I saw all of them. Even Emily, everyone all smiled at me.

"Don't worry big sister! you gave us what we wanted all this time. You gave us freedom, you've set us free from the chains that are binding us all our lives, that's why we want to thank you" Emily said with a bright smile on her face while the other kids just nodded with her. Their souls started to vanish one by one until Emily is the only one left. She walked towards me and then she held my hands.

"Eldest sister, please tell Julian that I love him with all my heart, tell him that I am sorry because I wasn't able to wait for him, thank you for everything big sister, Goodbye! see you in our next life!" she said then she vanished. My eyes widened at first but a smile then formed on my lips.

"Alright, I'll do that. Thank you for forgiving me, everyone" I said and there I left the garden. I walked towards the manor and I immediately went to my room. I took a paper out and I started writing a letter for my secret forces, then I called for my raven and I tied the note in his foot and then he left. 

Do not worry everyone, we will make the future better, we will end this disgusting tradition I thought as I look outside the window. I clenched my fist when I saw the Grand Duke walking towards the manor.

I stepped outside of my room and I went to greet him from the door. When I got to the entrance, I saw Juliette there waiting, she wore heavy makeup and a seductive red gown. I scoffed as I look at the doors then it opened revealing father.

"I greet the Grand Duke a good morning," I said as I curtsied. I didn't want to greet him, to be honest, but of course, it's part of the etiquette so I did it. Juliette also did the same but the Grand Duke ignored her and went straight towards me.

"Damaria, come to my office tonight, I have a task for you," he said. I was dumbfounded at that time, I kept my head lowered to the ground.

"But Your Grace, you could've asked a servant to call for me, why did you go here yourself?" I asked I can see his eyes flinching a little but of course, he became composed again.

"I was near the manor, that's why I decided to tell you personally, I was about to tell you the task itself here but It shouldn't be disclosed to others so I will just tell it in my office. That's all" He said then he left. I looked towards Juliette who looks disappointed since the duke didn't even pay any attention to her. 

I also walked upstairs towards my room then I sat on the chair at the table on my balcony to rest. I cast a spell on Julian, as an apology gift, I wonder if it already activated I thought as I closed my eyes to rest.

Julian

I sat on a chair and I took a look at Emily's letter, her last letter to me. I contemplated if I should read it or should I keep it in my treasure box untouched until I decided to read it as it is the only remembrance I have of her.

I opened the letter and I started reading it.

My Dearest Beloved Julian,

         Julian, my love, how are you faring tonight? are you well? have you eaten your dinner? are you currently resting now? Well, I probably won't be able to ask you these questions personally huh? Haha, that's too bad. Julian, I am sorry if I was not able to keep my promise to stay by your side till we're old and gray.

         My love, please do not blame yourself, or please do not hold a grudge against anyone, though I am sure that you are not gonna do that. But my love, please remember that I did this decision to protect you, my dear. My love, may you always remember that I may not be able to stay with you physically I will always stay beside you. I will protect you even here in the afterlife.

         My Love, I hope and pray that we can also meet and be together in a world where nothing restricts us, a place where we are free to live our dreams. It might not be now, but I hope that in our next life, we can be happy together. Now, I must end this letter here my beloved Julian. Thank you and I love you from the bottom of my heart.

I hugged the letter as tears started forming in my eyes. Oh Emily, my poor Emily, Do not worry my beloved Emily, for I am also wishing for the same thing, Do not worry my love, I will see or watch the beauty of this earth for the both of us I thought, I carefully folded the paper and I placed it in my most beloved treasure box. 

I lay on my bed and I slept while crying. Then I had a dream, where Emily and I are happy in a peaceful place with our children playing and the both of us seating at the table outside of our humble abode.

Sadly, now it truly is an unattainable dream...
