Chapter 1

Chapter 1

"Do you think it fits in me?" I asked Royal, showing off myself to him, then he turned to me with his deep set coffee eyes.

I was wearing a two-piece dress: cream colored off shoulder top and skirt with slit on the side. I was in hurry so I barely thought of what I was going to wear.

"Where are you going?" He asked back, ignoring my first question. He squinted and scanned my whole body. His eyes were too suspicious.

"Just answer me, pretty please?" I scoffed and he mocked back at me.

"It fits in you. But if you are off to somewhere like in public places, for God's sake, Alpha, change your clothes!" His litany then rolled his deep eyes.

I pouted in disappointment. Royal was always like this. Too protective, too conservative and too annoying.

He was like my older brother, my father, my everything. He guided me in any ways he could. He helped me with my school papers and he was always there when I needed him the most.

"What's with the face, Missy?" He asked as he stood up and walked towards me.

He was tall, lean and handsome, I must say. His broad shoulders made me feel like he was my home.

We were inside his wide room. He was doing his research papers while I was doing nothing but to bug him. He was so patient but if he had a chance he would throw me off to his window.

"I'm going out somewhere. Perhaps with my friends?"

"Hmm," he narrowed his eyes again, suspecting me and I grinned. "No boys, okay?"

I frowned.

"But why?" I asked, pouting. "Of course I'm allowed to hang out with them!" I protested.

He chuckled, making me pout more.

"You're like an ugly duck, Alpha. Stop pouting," he commented between a laugh. "Okay. Okay."

I eyed him, slowly marking a glowing smile beside my lips. It felt like something good will happen to me.

"Your mom trusts me so much. She believes I will take care of you so I'm doing this for her," he reminded me.

I was his responsibility. My parents entrusted me to him while they were far away from me. So I had to be stuck inside his room and follow his orders to avoid altercations.

"Yeah," I sighed in resignation.

"Let's keep it this way," he stated in his baritone voice. "I am allowing you to hang out with boys but you should bear in your mind that you have limitations."

"Yes, sir!" I saluted and he chuckled. I could feel the excitement slowly creeping in every vein I had.

"Silly," he murmured between a teasing smile and then I pouted again.

Royal was five years older than me. We're not related to each other. My parents and his were just friends because of business. And being older than me meant responsibilities. And if mom would let Throne— who happened to be his younger brother— watch over me, world war might exist. Throne was younger than me. That meant he was still immature by means of thinking or should I say, he was immature in everything. He's childish or worse than that.

Royal continued his stuff and I waved a goodbye before meeting my friends. I knew he was against my will but because I promised I will tell him my whereabouts, in the end he gave up.

We got inside Trixie's car and we headed off to Robinson's Mall. While inside the car, we were doing our usual routine like turning the stereo and move with the beat. Sometimes we sang the lyrics that made the environment light and carefree.

"I thought Royal won't let you wear those things," Angelika commented.

"Yeah," Janrez seconded with her bored face. "He's like a boyfriend." She gave emphasis to her last word.

"He's my older brother." I sighed. "There's nothing wrong of being like that. My parents trust him. If you'll be on his shoe, you'll do the same thing."

"I doubt it," Angelika immediately replied. "If I were him, I'll let you do whatever the hell you wanna do."

"That's so irresponsible, Anj," Via objected.

"Definitely," I agreed.

We toured the whole mall. We bought few stuffs and pampered ourselves. It's good to be back here. The cold environment reminded me of Royal because his room was my comfort zone. I always felt at home, most specially if he's around. I felt secure and safe with him.

After we bought everything we needed, we packed our things up and put them inside the car then we had our lunch together.

"This summer, I want to travel the rest of Indonesia. I want to live in Bali. Last summer, I was in Korea with my cousins. Then maybe I wanna stay in my grandmother's house in Bali," Trixie informed then turned to me with her nosy eyes. "What about you?"

I shrugged. "Maybe I'll stay inside my house the whole summer."

What's new? Last summer, I stayed inside my house. Sometimes if I got bored, I stayed in Royal's house—inside his room. He had no problem with that. In fact, he said it's the best thing to do to make him feel assured. If people know, I did ninja moves to run away from him.

"No way!" Angelika reacted. "You said you want to go to Italy to visit your grandmother?"

I shot my right brow at her then turned to everyone.

"It's still January, girls. Relax. We have ample of time to think about our next destination," I told them.

"You're not excited, are you?" Asked Trixie in furrowed brows.

"I'm not." I growled. I propped my elbow on the table, rested my jaw on my palm and pouted.

We were inside the coffee shop near the mall, waiting for the boys to arrive. What the hell was taking them long to show up?

"Wow. That sounds new to me," Janrez joked. I just rolled my eyes and stared at nowhere.

"Do you think boys will show up here?" I asked impatiently.

I hated waiting for nothing. What time was it? Did they have any plan of drawing their fat asses here?

"Yeah," Angelika chuckled. "... in a few moment."

"They should, if they don't want to be kicked in the ass," I grunted and they all laughed.

"Huh! Since when you know how to kick an ass, A?" Via scoffed and I rolled my eyes.

I squinted, zooming my vision then I saw familiar faces. My heart abruptly thumped inside my cage. My breathing hitched.

"A?" Someone jabbed my shoulder, making me glance at her.

"Just now," I commented brusquely, trying hard to conceal my nervousness.

"Something's wrong with you, A," Angelika announced.

I turned outside the window and saw nothing. Just when four men entered inside the coffee shop, the environment became coarse and unexplainable.

"I-I think... I-I need to go to cr." I stammered. I saw Via abruptly turned to me with her muddled face.

"Are you sick? You just came from the comfort room then you're going there again?"

I swallowed hard, timid. How can I explain to them what's going on inside my crinkled brain?

"M-Maybe..." I turned to Via whose eyes were suspicious. "Look," I inhaled deeply. "I think we should go now."

"But we're waiting for the boys," said Janrez like I forgot about it.

"I know." I groaned.

"Let me guess," Angelika gave me a wicked smile, propping her arms on the table. "Gero is here."

"Gero is here?!" Via exclaimed, wandering her eyes around. And when she spotted Gero's direction, she turned to me with her mixed emotions, fanning her face in cloud nine. "Oh my heart! Oh my heart!!!" She squealed.

I opened my mouth, ready to stop her. When I took a glance from Gero's direction, I saw his eyes shoved to mine. I swallowed coursely, cowering. I really didn't like the feeling everytime our eyes met. It sent shivers down my spine, radiating in every vein of my heart like a tidal wave.

Angelika stood up, smirking. I knew what she's going to do but my butt was nailed on my chair. And all I could do was to watch her leave, flashing a victorious smile on her lips.

"What is she doing?" Asked Janrez, sounded troubled.

"I-I don't know." I stuttered.

"We should stop Angelika!" She panicked.

"I think we should just watch her," Via demurred, sounds relaxed.

"What?!" I blurted out. "This is terrible!"

"What the fuck?!" Trixie cussed loudly, oblivious from horrible eyes staring at her.

"Let's go!" Janrez exclaimed.

She stood up and ran fast at Angelika before she could go near to Gero. And when Janrez gripped Angelika's hand, I sighed in relief. Oh, goddess. That was so close.

Janrez came back, gripping Angelika's hand, who's pouting in resignation. I sighed in relief again. I turned to Gero— who was facing back at us. He's with his company together with some girls sitting beside them.

"You're a bitch, Anj," Trixie huffed. "What were you even thinking?"

"What?" Angelika pouted.

Janrez released her then took the seat in front of me. Angelika followed. She sat next to Via.

"I was just wondering if we can ask Gero for some date." Anj widened her lips, showing off an odd look.

"Date?!" Trixie repeated. "What are you? You have the guts to ask him on a date?"

"Why not? I'm just being friendly here."

"Friendly? Come on, bitch! You're like a desperate woman who is obsessed with him."

"Really?" She scoffed. "I didn't see it coming. I'm not A who's coward to face Gero. 'Cause maybe..." she narrowed her eyes on me and I shot my left brows at her. "... maybe you like him, don't you?"

My jaw dropped in disbelief. All my friends turned to me with their confused looks.

I smirked with a sound. "Don't divert the attention to me, Anj. Me?" I pointed myself with the use of my index finger. "I'm not even interested with him. Let's say he's hot and oh so yummy man, he doesn't fit in my standard."

"Hmm," Via hummed. "So that explains why you hate Gero so much. Right?"

"Exactly!" I answered with confidence, turning to Via. "What else do you want me to explain?"

Angelika rolled her eyes with a hiss. "You can't deceive me, A. Way back when we were in high school, you said you liked him a lot. Remember when you cried because of the overwhelming feelings he caused you? You even said you loved him the most!"

"Shut up, Anj." I said, dismissing the topic. I looked away in abashment.

"You see?" She blurted out.

She's right. Gero was my world way back when we were still in high school. I didn't know how it went well. I almost forgot everything between us. I believed we were just too young that time that's why we were fragile. We were not concerned of our feelings. What we wanted was what we wanted. Besides, it was just one sided love. I knew it's not his intention to make me fall for him. He was just so cool and gorgeous while I was naive. Good thing I didn't fess up about my feelings for him. I just knew that she had a girlfriend the following day. And that day before, he was implicitly flirting with me.

"That's enough, Anj, " Janrez warned. "You know how coarse this issue to A. You shouldn't bring up the topic about her craziness towards Gero."

"I agree," Via stated. "She fell really hard and drowned deeply. Remember she had low grades?"

"Oh, please." I entreated. "You all are not helping me."

Angelika took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry, Alpha. I was just trying you. I know you're still into him."

"We can see it in your eyes, A," Via added. "We can feel the hopes in it. And whatever keeps you to hold on, you better slip it away. It's not healthy anymore."

"I wish it's so easy to deal with it." I whispered. Tears are pooling over my eyes. "I cannot elude from fate. No matter what I do, our paths always collide. And all I can do is to hope that we can be together someday."

I took a deep breath, feeling dejected. What was I supposed to do if I was still in love with him? Four years had gone but he's still in my heart. And I guessed he would always be in my heart.

"I think you should indulge yourself with different activities." Trixie suggested. "Like you know," she shrugged. "... or perhaps date other boys. Let's see if you two can work it out."

"Hmm," Angelika hummed. "That's a great idea. And you should outshine from your old looks."

I frowned. Were they really my friends?

"And, I think you should act like a lady." Via propounded. "You have baby lips which look hot if you only notice. Remember what they always say? Love yourself first so everyone around you will love you as well."

I frowned again. I didn't really care about the gossips about me having an ugly face or whatsoever. I loved how I manage myself and I didn't want to change to impress others. If they could not appreciate my worst side, then they didn't deserve to see my best one.

"Look, Alpha. This is just a friendly suggestion. It still depends on you. But you know what's the best thing to do? Move on from him. Get over with your feelings. Gero has a girlfriend. You don't like to be the third party, do you?"

"O-Of course not," I said. I looked down again. How could I move on from him?

"Well, that's good to hear," Janrez said. "I wish you're wide awake now."

"Yeah," I whispered. I had nothing to say.

Few minutes had passed when a group of boys showed up in front of us."Hey!" Lars greeted with his wide smile."Hi, guys!" Same as TJ."Did we miss something?" Asked Jonas with his toothy smile."What do you think?" I asked back, rolling my eyes. They took the seats in front of us. Jonas propped his elbow on the table and rested his jaw at the back of his palm and squinted like he's suspecting me."Why so furious?" He scoffed. I glared at him then rolled my eyes. I didn't like how he smiled. It was pissing me off. Every angle of his face was irritating."Stop nagging her, Jones." I heard Angelika demanded. "You know she doesn't like to see your face."Lars chuckled and I glared at him. His face turned to a serious one as he bit his lower lip, trying to ensnare the laughter from coming out.I mocked at him. "Go and order some foods to eat." I commanded."Yes, ma'am." He teased, saluting. I scorned at him with a moc

Chapter 3
The following morning was Sunday. I did my schedule which was going to church alone. I asked Royal if he was available. He said he wasn't.What's new, Alpha? You've been alone in your life since Omega died. Pathetic you were, huh?"The breakfast is ready, Alpha. In case you're hungry." Nanny announced as she walked inside my room to put my clothes inside the closet."Sure, Ny. I'll just finish my stuff here." I replied, looking at my laptop."Okay. After you eat, do you have something to do?"I paused and looked up to gawk at her and pout."I'm going to see Royal today if he's not busy.""Okay." She smiled before she faced her back and walked away. I heaved a long sigh and continued typing on my laptop.I stalked Gero's social media accounts. From IG, twitter and FB. And I could see nothing but albums of his pictures with her girl

Chapter 4
"Hmm, this tastes better." I commented as I chewed the strawberry."What time will you go home?" He asked out of the blue."Why?" I asked back and turned to him, who was browsing my social media account. "Are you sick of my face?" I joked."Not that much," he curtly said, making me glare at him. Then he turned to me with his teasing smile."Okay. So that explains why you don't want me to leave your room." I scoffed and he looked away. I noticed his ears turned red. He was blushing! Ha! And I find it adorable."Seems like you're friendly, aren't you?" He diverted from the topic."It's good to be friendly. Just so you know." I stated and then rolled my eyes. I continued eating strawberries. I wondered where did they buy it because they really tasted good."Not all the time, just so you know." He mocked then turned to me with his piercing coffee eyes. After the class, I packed my things up, ready to go home. I had nothing to do and I was thinking of meeting Royal, though I still felt awkward whenever he was around but I knew I would get over with it."Don't you have any plan of approaching Janrez?" Asked Angelika as I finished packing up my stuff and I turned to her sluggishly."Why me? She's the inconsiderate here. If she only knows what it feels to love someone who can't love her back, maybe she'll understand me."She sighed in dismay. "You know she's not into romance.""That's my point here." I abruptly replied. "She's innocent and naïve to love that's why it's easy for her to conclude that way." I rolled my eyes in frustration. "But what about me? No consideration at all?"All I ever asked was they would understand me. Were they really my friends? It was not easy to pricking move on from that dickhead. She sigh

"Tell me what's wrong, fratello." I demanded softly, cupping his hand and gently squeezed it. Then he took a deep breath and stared in front."Am I too possessive?" He asked out of the blue.I blinked many times, trying to process his words."Am I too territorial and suffocating?" He added."No," I whispered then he turned to me with a hint of scowl but immediately disappeared as he stared at me. "You're not suffocating, you're not territorial, you're not too possessive.""Then why did she break up with me? She told me she's so sick of my attitude."I looked down and removed my hand from him. I could not find any word to reply."She wasted our five years of relationship!" He rose his voice that made me flinch. "She told me she doesn't love me anymore. Goddammit!"I abruptly gulped once, scared of his dark side. But I understood hi

Few days had gone since the last time I saw Royal. I must admit, I missed him already. But if I continued myself seeing him, I might fall really hard. I might end up copping my feelings and it would just give me embarrassment because fessing up my feelings meant accepting defeat."It's so sad. You can't go with us." Janrez stated, frowning.Janrez and I were friends again. To be honest, I could not stand ignoring her the whole day knowingly she sat next to me. It was really hard for me not to talk to her because I was used in chitchatting with her everytime our professor was boring."Yeah," Via agreed, pouting. "We hope you can be with us, you know. It'll be fun."We were inside the coffee shop near the university. We decided to go here to relax. One hour ahead was our next class. Good thing we had ample of time to freshen up our minds."And you'll be out of topic everytime we'll throwback," Angelika added."Yeah," I sighed in defeat. "But y

"Are you feeling better?" Royal asked as we're inside his room. I finished drinking a glass of water that he gave me then placed it on his bedside table and nodded as a response."Thank you so much, fratello. Without you, I don't know what to do with my life.""Why? What happened?" He asked as he sat beside me.I heaved a heavy sigh and looked down. Even if he's doing nothing, my heart raced on its own like I ran for a mile."They're still blaming me for Omega's death." I started and looked up. "It was an accident. But mom insisted I was irresponsible.""I'm sorry about that." He said and I turned to him with confusion written on my face. "I'm sorry if I can nothing to change their minds.""It's okay," I replied with a heavy breath. "As long as I can count on you, I'll be fine no matter how tough life is."He sighed and captured my hands and I loo

Chapter 9
As the boys showed up in front of us, Janrez gave them those vacant chairs from the other table and I whined silently. I didn't like the boys' presence. I just hated them. They reminded me of Gero. And speaking of Gero, I saw him with Saera inside the campus and I must say, Saera's the lucky one to have Gero. But if I would have Royal, I could be luckier than her."What made you all draw your fatasses here?" I asked in annoyed manner."We're just here to relax." Lars replied bluntly and I rolled my eyes because he had monolid eyes, it reminded me of Gero's."Graduation day will come soon," TJ announced. "And probably we'll part our ways. I heard you're moving to Italy, Alpha?" He turned to me with his nosy eyes."Yes. And I can't wait for it."He nodded at my response and turned to Trixie, who's currently eating her piece of cake."Valentine's Day is coming so soon. Couples of days had passed and the heart's day was just around the corner. Everyone was so busy decorating the campus with the theme of love. Our section was assigned to make a marriage booth. It would be used during our valentines party excluded the prom because it would be by next week."Ugh! I'm so hungry." Angelika whined as she drooled over a box of pizza and in a second, she grabbed one slice of pizza and eat it whole heartily."You're not hungry, are you?" Trixie scoffed and shook her head in disbelief.Today was Saturday but we had to be here inside the campus just to finish the said marriage booth."Obvious, isn't it?" Angelika scoffed back and rolled her eyes while Trixie flashed a teasing smile."I don't know if marriage booth is fun," Janrez suddenly spoke up and took a piece of pizza and suspended it in the air. "Like, we'll witness the couples exchanging their vows and after that, they'll sign a contract which will corrobate the fact
