Adeline's POV
Thwack!
The resounding slap woke me up from my sweet sleep, I wasn't surprised I was getting woken up like this by the screaming banshee in front of me. I would never be happy with the status quo. But that didn't change the fact if I want to continue to live here that I needed to.
"You lazy bone! I told you to wash these clothes last night, didn't I?" Eva, my younger sister yelled at me.
Don't be surprised that I'm being treated like this, it doesn't sit well with me too but I just have to follow her orders if I wanted to remain in this house.
I'm also a daughter of the Wyatt's family, in fact the first daughter. But I was a disappointment to my parents. Every other werewolves in my pack found their mates when they clocked eighteen but here am I; ninteen years of age, unmarked.
I don't even body shift when there's a full moon, a weak omega that's what I am. I have learnt to live with my pains and also accept the fact that I've been cursed by the Moon Goddess as everyone had told me.
I'm so much grateful that my family haven't thrown me out, but I'm not different from those maids. We were equals.
I bowed my head, staring at the tiled floor. I do not dare to look Eva in the face when she's talking to me or I might end up being skinned alive.
"I'm.. I'm sorry, Eva. I knew I had to wash your clothes but it escaped my mind. I'm deeply s…" Before I could finish apologising to her, she gave me a hotter slap on the face and I staggered backwards, almost falling to the floor.
I was surprised that I could maintain my stamina. Merely looking at my thin and lean self, anybody even a blind man can tell that I'm suffering from malnutrition.
I held my cheeks as hot tears rolled down, wetting my worn out pyjamas. Well, one of Eva's hand-me-downs.
"Have you forgotten your place in this house? You're my slave and you shouldn't forget that, okay?" She bickered at me and I nodded quickly to avoid being punished again.
"Now pick up the clothes and go the laundry room and remember.." She paused, flashing a hateful glare at me. "...wash them with your hands!"
I rushed out of the room, clutching the clothes tightly to my chest like my life depended on it. After I was done, I got dressed for school and I greeted my parents as I walk past the living room.
They were having breakfast with their adorable princess and noone needed to tell me that I wasn't wanted at the dining with them.
"Adeline." My mom, Fiona called, making me halt in my steps. I turned around and my eyes met with Eva who rolled her eyes at me.
"We have something to tell you when you're back from school." Mom mentioned and as I walked to school, I kept wondering what she wanted to tell me. Little did I know, my life would take a drastic turn today.
I was almost entering my class when I felt someone grabbed my hair. I turned back only to see, Eva and her friends- Olivia and Billie. I know they're here to bully me as always. I've gotten used to it and now saw it as part of my daily life but today, I feel so weak and the migraine I was having mixed with severe cramp pains made me feel like I would soon faint.
Eva spilled her milk shake on my uniform while Olivia poured her orange juice on my head and it sank down my body, wetting ny uniform.
As other students passed by, they mocked and gossiped me. I felt ashamed as I watched them but Eva's slap drifted my attention back to her and the other bullies.
"Shameless b*tch! Just take a look at yourself, you look so pathetic!" Eva laughed out and her friends joined in.
"Tell us, have you found your mate yet?" Billie asked but I kept quiet, staring at my feet. How on earth was I to answer that question? Eva took a grip of my neck and I choked, gasping for her air.
"You should talk when you're being questioned, you weakling!" Olivia gritted her teeth, pushing me away and I hit my butt on the hard floor, this time my stamina didn't help at all.
I shook my head, forcing words out of my mouth. "No...I haven't…" I stuttered.
They looked into eachother's faces and broke into laughter again.
"Well….." Eva shrugged. "You'll never find one, believe me. You're cursed, Adeline." She spelt out.
I wept bitterly, whenever she mentioned this I always feel like I'm being stabbed deep in my heart a thousand times. I feel the urge to talk back at her but I couldn't bring myself to do so.
Why is my life this way? Am I really cursed by the moon goddess? The silly question I asked myself made me chuckle inwardly, whose life would be miserable like this except one who's cursed?
I would always be the ill-fated one, I have to continue to believe that and live my life accordingly.
I was dealt with by Eva and her friends. I couldn't take it anymore, I shut my eyes and fell into the hard floor.
There was a blackout.
Just like garbage, Eva kicked me away and headed away with her friends. I remained there, cold, pale and almost dying. Nobody came to help me.
The next thing I felt was cold water being poured on my head. I opened my eyes immediately, breathing so fast. My sight was blurry for a while and I had to rub my eyes to have a better view of my surroundings.
I wasn't at school, I was at home now; in the living room.
"Hey!" Mom snapped her fingers and I stood up slowly, my legs failed me and I fell onto the floor.
Eva huffed. "Seriously? Are you trying to buy sympathy?"
My father, Gabriel moved closer and pointed at me. "Young woman, get up! There are a few things you need to know."
I mustered some strength and stood up again. I'm so curious right now. Are they going to throw me out of the house now?
"You're getting married, Adeline." Dad announced and I raised my brows in surprise. Marriage? I'm just 19 for hell's sake! Who am I even getting married to?
As if my mom was reading my mind, she replied, "Aiden Albert is his name and you'll be wedded tomorrow."
Tomorrow? What the hell!
Morever, the name sounded familiar. I overheard dad and mom talking about Eva getting married to Aiden Albert. Why did they change their mind? Why me?
I've heard a lot about him and I know his family is fucking wealthy. The Eva that I know would want to have such man as her husband, since she loves enjoying luxury. Something is definitely wrong somewhere.
Eva patted my back looking at me with a smirk. "I'm sure you'll love him, Adeline. A blind man, tsk tsk, I can never marry such person."
I looked at my mother, maybe she'll be able to explain this better. Aiden Albert was blind? How can a wealthy man like that lack sight?
"Mom? I…."
"Yes, we just got to know yesterday when his uncle called. Aiden turned blind a year ago." Mom interrupted me.
"Initially, Eva was supposed to be married to him but no no, I can't allow my precious get engaged to a man without eyes."
Dad joined in, "Sorry, Adeline. We're so so sorry, okay?"
I knew he wasn't sincere with the apology. It was clear, so obvious. Besides, it couldn't change the fact that I'll be given out to a blind man and my parents wouldn't change their mind.
"You're a weakling and he is too, you both are a perfect match." Mom grinned.
"Thankfully, for the first time in your pathetic life, you're being useful. This marriage would bring us wealth and I can't wait for the juicy contracts to start coming our way."She gushed.
Darn it! I can't believe my parents hated me to this extent. Giving out their daughter to a blind man; that's pure cruelty!
Well, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe I'll get to live a better life after the marriage. At least, I'll be able to escape these devils who call themselves my family.
I braced myself up for what was to come my way. I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe this isn't so bad.
Adeline's POV I sighed when the Bugatti halted in front of the Albert's mansion. As I walked in, I kept looking around in amazement. The compound looked so big and the environment was so serene. Merely looking at the exterior designs, one should know the Albert's family are wealthy people.None of my family was here with me, only a car was sent by the Albert's to pick me up. A maid brought out my small luggage from the car's boot; it literally contained nothing but rags and worn-out dresses.I never wore anything nice but I picked the dresses myself, since they were a bit manageable. As I stepped in, I was completely mesmerized. Gosh! The furniture and wall designs, especially the chandeliers. The living room was empty except for the maids who were busy with their jobs. Does this family really want me? Noone is even here to welcome me.I heard approaching footsteps and when I looked up, I saw a man in his fifties coming downstairs followed by a petite young lady and a guy too.Aiden
Adeline's POV The room was silent and Aiden sat on the bed, his gaze fixed on me. He had been staring at me for twenty minutes now and I couldn't help but wonder if he can see me.I kept wondering why I forgot to knock before opening the door. If I had done that at least I wouldn't be in this awkward situation. What was he going to do now? Punish me?"You deserve to be punished!" Aiden's baritone voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I jolted, was he reading my mind?I began stuttering, I didn't know where to start from. Okay...okay Adeline, say something. He doesn't bite."Umm…..ummm…" I sighed, slapping my head. Stop it Adeline, what's wrong with you? I was about to open my mouth again when he spoke."Is that how you barge into people's room without knocking? Do you even have manners?" "I'm... I'm so sorry." "Judging by your scent, I don't know you. What are you doing in my room?" He asked."I'm... I'm Adeline." I said and his brows scrunched up. He stood up and walked in slow
Adeline's POV I could see the look on Aiden's face, I know he doesn't believe me. Even though my life wasn't a so good example, I hated to see others in distress. And for Aiden, it was the same cause I really feel bad for him.Aiden chuckled, running his hands through his long brown hair. "What are you talking about, young lady? How do you know I can be healed? I've gone to many standard hospitals and the doctors keep saying there's no solution."I shook my head, taking his hands in mine. "Don't be pessimistic, Aiden.""I've told you to maintain your distance with me, didn't I?"Aiden's expression was cold and menacing so to avoid trouble, I obeyed him. I don't know why, but I feel drawn to him. I feel the urge to console him, stay by his side and most especially, help him with seeing again. But how? My eyes lit up when an idea came to my mind. "Aiden, we can visit another optician. A different hospital." "They all want to help at first but always end up disappointing me. I doubt i
Adeline's POV Hudson threw me unto the bed, his cold menacing eyes staring at me body. I cringed, trembling in fear. I wondered what I could do to save myself from this monster. Would he ever listen to my plea?"H...Hudson." I stammered, my voice croaky as I clasped my hands together. "Please don't do this."He chuckled dryly, sizing me up. "How do you expect me to ignore you, uh? Your hot body calls me and I can't help but answer the sweet call." He told me, pinning me down the bed as his hot breath fanned my face. What sweet call? A...and, did he just say I look hot? I'm not hot for hell's sake!, Judging from the scars on my face and numerous ones on my back; a result of Eva and especially my parents punishment, I feel like the beauty within me had been ruined, completely. I cared less about my looks, all I wanted was to live a low lifestyle; simple and safe but trouble keeps coming to me. I just can't figure it out, the reasons had been a mystery to me. Was it the curse causing
Aiden's POV Ever since I was involved in that ghastly accident that almost took my life; my sight, my rights, my companies, everything had been taken from me.Even though the wealth was rightfully mine and also my inheritance, it was now controlled by my uncle – Thane. He had always lived under the pretense of caring for my well-being but I was aware of his camouflage. Withdrawing unnecessary money had been an habit and my only fear is waking up one day and hearing the news about the collapse of my companies and empires. Occasionally, I've heard him make calls, taking about shady transactions with God knows who. Some days ago, he discussed getting married to me which I declined. But he managed to persuade me claiming the girl would serve as my caregiver. Eva was the one he told me about but I was surprised to realise her sister coming in her stead.I bet she was afraid of having a blind husband, well I shouldn't blame her. Adeline's agreement to marry me and her willingness to help
Aiden's POV "I...I..my things are in the luggage. I forgot to pick a dress before going in." Adeline mentioned, her eyes fixed to the floor. Does she even know how I feel right now? My eyes moved from her legs, trailing up to her pretty face. Though it was filled with scars which was obviously from beating, Adeline still looked beautiful nonetheless. "Your family hates you don't they? Who gave you those scars?" I asked, quite concerned. She sighed deeply before answering my question. "I...I often get published by my parents and my sister, even my mom had scourged me many times."My gaze lingered on her before I sat on the sofa, crossing my legs. I think I'm getting too concerned about Adeline. I don't want to make her think I'm growing feelings for her. We are just a couple and I want to strings attached. Absolutely... no.. nothing. Yes, nothing!"Then pick up a dress and get going." I told her, looking away though stealing glances at her. Adeline... you're killing me slowly."Yes
Adeline's POV I could feel the ray of sunshine on my face and noone needed to tell me it was morning already. It's time for school but first I have to wash Eva's stinking cloths. Oops! I had forgotten I wasn't with my family anymore. The thought of washing her clothes especially her panties was a burden to me. The stench that comes from it is always more than I could handle. I could tell she had been sleeping with a lot of guys, her clothes gave out different perfumes each day. If I could recall well, Dane was her mate and I don't get why she'd go out with other guys. Wasn't he enough to please her? He was a handful, always fucking her. I have overheard Eva's moans many times. Dane's orgasm never ceased to draw maps on her bedsheets and it's so annoying that I have to clean their mess! Sigh... I'm so unhappy today, I felt relieved that I escaped Eva's clutches yesterday but I'd be seeing her today, again. Can I even do without her? I just wished I could make myself invisible,
Adeline's POV I quickly broke from the hug. Gosh, I forgot he warned me not to hug him anymore. Why do I forget things easily? "I'm... I'm sorry. I just hugged you." I took some steps away, biting my lower lips, my eyes gazing at the floor. Seeing him quiet, I decided to use that as an opportunity to run away from this awkward moment. But I was stopped and stunned when Aiden hugged me again. My brows widened as I reeled in shock. Aiden just hugged me! Why would he hug me when he wants me completely away from him? I heard him groan, sniffing a bit. Was he crying? "Aiden…?" I called his name slowly. I returned the hug, patting his long hair. I left him to let out his tears, maybe that could make him feel better. It works for me but I don't know if it would for him too. Whenever I get bullied or punished, I soak myself in tears and let out all my pains and anguish. "Adeline, I'm sorry you have to be entangled in this web with me. I didn't feel good when Gabriella spo
Fiona's POV Even when we were young, Nyx used to be the most favoured child while I was the one who is always mistreated; the backyard daughter who doesn't get to show her face to the public and beg blamed for everything she does!Nyx took out parents' love from me simply because she was the one prophesied to birth the 'Wonder Wolf'.Nyx took away virtually all my joy and happiness while I'm left with nothing.Even Kaidën Ravenhood was supposed to be mine. We used to lovers back at highschool and we started dating after our fourth year at college.Nyx has never been happy about our relationship and I clearly know that she is in love with Kaidën too even as I am.Also, she managed to snsych Kaidën from me and all hope to get back my love got shattered when Kaidën found out that Nyx was his mate.He marked her right before my eyes while I stood, watching them, feeling dejected and unworthy of myself.Al
Omni's POV We quickly exit the Moon Crest Pack, unfortunately we'd have to confront them some other time. Not now when Hermia is dying in my arms.Even though I didn't feel anything special for Hermia, I still wanted to protect her. She was rushed to the Pack hospital and I ordered my men to watch over her while I oversee some matters.I furrowed as brows as a crying woman approached the palace, her frail child in her hands. She fell unto her knees, weeping profusely. The woman herself looked pale, I could see the red dots on her skin which indicated that the withering sickness has been inflicted on her too."My King," she cried, tears streaming down her face. "My child is gone." The woman lamented and it dawned on me that I have a weight on my shoulders that I have overlooked for so long; the Pack needed someone brave and strong.Someone that could care for them, am I really capable?"The sickness h
Omni’s POV"You do not plan to come back to New Orleans, do you?"Niko, my second in command and friend says through the mind link. I sipped my drink, resting back on the sofa, not bothering to reply him.The next minute, he walked in with a smirk on his face. I looked up in surprise, how did he find me?"Surprised to see me?""How did you know I am here, Niko?" I snapped at me.I don’t seem to like everyone around me in the BloodLust Pack but I just have to accept them in my new life.Niko took his seat, crossing his legs. "I got into town some days ago and even though you've been trying to conceal your scent, see, I still traced you down well.""Are you going to boast about your extraordinary tracking abilities now, Niko?" I asked, folding my arms."Well..." he shrugged. "I guess it’s a good thing to boast about especially now that there is fire on the mountain," his tone got serious and I q
Omni's POV "Marcus." Hermia purred, swinging her waist as she catwalked, stopping in front of me.She slipped her arms around me, locking our lips in a hot kiss. I grinned, holding her waist firm. Hermia was one of my favourite sluts and I was glad she knew what I wanted."You…. I've missed you." She whined, taking a hold of my dick as she fondled my dick cap. I groaned, grabbing her hair."Bitch, you're here again." A smile crept onto my lips as I pulled her head back and forth, thrusting my dick deep into her throat.Hermia gulped down my sperm, looking up into my eyes with a smirk on her lips. "I've missed you and since you refused to take my calls, I decided to come here for you."I ran my line fingers through my hair as she sucked my dick further.Hell, she knew how to do this so well!In a swift move, I grabbed her waist, dropping her gently on my bed. "Spread your legs wide, Hermia." I commanded and she did that immediately, revealing her pussy, dripping wet."AHH .." she m
Omni's POV "Crush her, Omni. Into powder, I want her gone." I still could remember my mother's words as I stared into Adeline's gorgeous eyeballs. For a fleeting moment, the whole world seemed to pause; the hands of the clock hanging by. For six years, I have been stalking Adeline. I resided to New York because of her. After being reincarnated as the great lycan king— Marcus, my duty was to end the lives of who killed me in my first life. My mother, the witch— Delilah had made me vowed as she revived my spirit, sending my soul into the dead lycan's body; the man who had been attacked and killed at war. Now, I ruled the Blood Vail Pack— posing as their dead leader— Marcus Blood Vail. Mother seemed to be impatient, she had expected me to had taken revenge on the Moon Crest Pack for ending my life years ago. I had once argued with my mom. I didn't want to hurt Adeline as I had begun to fall for her behind closed doors. "The Moon Crest Pack killed me, mom, not Adeline." I
Adeline's POV I grinned as I walked out of the boardroom, setting my eyes on my adorable twin, Sabrina and Sean. "Mummy!" Sabrina screamed as she ran towards me. I scopped her into my arms, a smile on my lips. "Rina, baby. How was school?" I asked and she nodded but frowned as she turned to look at Sean. "School was fine except for Sean who has been all cold and never replies to whatever I say." She pouted as I placed her on the floor. I tried to reach for Sean but he raised his palm, moving away. He made a sign with his hands that he doesn't want to speak to anyone and would like to go home. "Right away!" He stomped his feet on the floor, making use of the sign language again. I never gave birth to Sean as a deaf boy. He just suddenly stopped talking when he clocked three, insisting he would only do when he finds his father. Even Sabrina had always asked too but...but I just had to lie to them that he was dead. How on earth was I going to tell my kids that I don'
Aiden's POV The night was silent except for the restless breeze which was disturbing the gentle atmosphere; the rumbling thunders accompanied in the disturbance. It was difficult for me to sleep. I stood up, disengaging Eva from my body as I shoved her aside.Gabriella's whimpers filled the hallway. I clicked my tongue in disgust, making my way downstairs.Though her night cries had been annoying, it gave me some sort of joy to see her in pains.I opened the door and the cool breeze hit my face, making me almost freezing."What the hell is going on?" I asked noone in particular, looking up at the sky."There's trouble." My wolf thudded within me. I creased my brows, wondering what he meant. He kept growling as I walked into the forest, I didn't know where I was going but I kept moving.A loud growl made me turn around. A mile away stood a tall blonde guy, I carefully watched him transformed into his wolf form. No, he was no werewolf. He was a lycan. Damn! How the hell did he make it
Adeline's POV We were set to move out of the Pack but the rain began to pour in no time. The hazardous rain, the rain that seemed like acid, coursing through veins, shredding fleshes off."We can't leave now." Mom said, placing her hand on my shoulder. I looked at her, nodding. "Alright." My wolf wanted to take over, to go save the victims out there. "I'll be back soon." I told mom who shook her head in disapproval. "You can't go outside, Adeline." She warned, "it's dangerous." I shook her head, in an attempt to convince her. "It doesn't hurt me, mom. I've been in the rain before now." Reluctantly, she let me go and my eyebrows flickered as I heard the wails of the children.I rushed into rain, gathering them in my arms. Surprisingly, the rain had no effect on them as they were in my arms but they were severely bruised.I had saved many of them, rushing them under a thatched hut but there was a child who refused to allow me save her."Come here, child. Allow me take you to a s
Aiden's POV "Mmm." I sighed, rubbing my eyebrows in frustration. "Eva, it's just a cockroach." I shrugged, hitting on the insect with a slipper."That silly creature annoys me and worse, it makes my baby kick when I set my eyes on it." She cried, cringing behind me.I think I've had enough of this craziness. This was the exact thing that happened when I was informed there was a crisis. It was a little cockroach lying on the floor, one that wouldn't scare a kid but Eva claims make her baby kicks."I think we need to visit the hospital, Eva." I said, pulling away from her grip as I sat at the edge of the bed."Why?" Her brows arched, her hands on her waist."Why does the baby have to react to every single thing? There's always a reaction even when we make love,I guess something is amiss." I said, my hands running through my hair. She gulped, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Let's forget about that for now, the baby is fine. What about you?" Winking at me, she asked."I'm... I'm good
