Aiden's POV
"I...I..my things are in the luggage. I forgot to pick a dress before going in." Adeline mentioned, her eyes fixed to the floor.
Does she even know how I feel right now? My eyes moved from her legs, trailing up to her pretty face. Though it was filled with scars which was obviously from beating, Adeline still looked beautiful nonetheless.
"Your family hates you don't they? Who gave you those scars?" I asked, quite concerned.
She sighed deeply before answering my question. "I...I often get published by my parents and my sister, even my mom had scourged me many times."
My gaze lingered on her before I sat on the sofa, crossing my legs. I think I'm getting too concerned about Adeline. I don't want to make her think I'm growing feelings for her.
We are just a couple and I want to strings attached. Absolutely... no.. nothing. Yes, nothing!
"Then pick up a dress and get going." I told her, looking away though stealing glances at her. Adeline... you're killing me slowly.
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"You just called me." She said and I quickly looked away. Did I call her name out loud?
"I just wanted to tell you to be careful." I lied though what I had in mind was to warn her about driving me crazier.
She furrowed her brows as she seemed confused by my words. "C.. careful?"
I nodded. "Yeah, careful. Home accident is getting rampant nowadays and even bathroom tiles are slippery."
She seemed to be getting more confused but nodded in agreement and moved to pick a dress for herself.
"Are you going to put that on?" I pointed at the torn cloth in her hands. Like hell! Does her family treat her this badly?
"This is one of my best wears." She smiled, raising the dress up a little. I chuckled dryly, was this really a cloth? Literally, it was nothing but a rag.
If a blind man like me could notice the holes in her clothes, I'm sure it would be more visible to them.
"This is no good cloth, Adeline." I shook my head, tossing the dress aside. "Besides, a dress isn't something you wear to sleep."
"Well, I'm not sleeping yet. I have to prepare dinner for you and treat your wound." She said, trying to touch my head but I moved away.
"No touching!" I raised a finger, taking my seat again then I felt a sharp pain in my head. Wincing, I held my head trying to shake off the migraine but it seemed impossible.
"What's wrong?" Adeline asked, her voice filled with worry as she came close to me.
"I said no touching! I'm fine" I grabbed her arm but she didn't agree with me this time.
"You can't tell me you're okay. Where the first aid box, do you have one?"
Eventually, I ended up giving in and pointing at the spot where the box was placed. She emptied the contents in if and I watched as she treats the wound on my head professionally.
She was perfect doing this and I couldn't help but wonder where she learnt it from.
"Ow!!" I closed my eyes and groaned throwing my head backwards as the pain from the ointment stung me.
"Sorry, sorry. You can pull my cloth if hold me if the pain is too much. Trust me it helps to endure the pain during treatment." Adeline flashed me a smile, applying the ointment once again.
Even though I felt pain, I winced inwardly and didn't show it. I have to make Adeline believe I'm strong and not a lad who cringed just at the mention of a pain relief. Hell, I don't even know why I'm trying to impress her.
"It's all done." She patted me on the shoulder before putting the box back on place. "I'll go dress up now and when I'm back, will get you something to eat."
I took a grip of her waist as she tried to leave and pulled her closer to me. This action made both of us fall on the bed and she was on top of me, our gaze locked together.
Trust me, it wasn't intentional. I only wanted to stop her. But...wait...why did I pull her waist and do you even believe letting her lie on top of me wasn't on intention? Truth being said, I'm GOING CRAZY!
"Ai...Aiden?" Adeline's brows were widened as she felt my heavy body on hers. I tucked the strands of her hair behind her ear to have a better view of her fine face.
I moved my lips closer to her face and I could feel her cringing beneath me. What was she thinking? That I would kiss her?
"What about dinner?" I asked, whispering into her ear. She let out a sigh of relief and pushed me away, running out of the room.
I grinned, sitting upright. It feels so good teasing Adeline. She just left but I'm missing her already, I waited for minutes but she wasn't back yet.
I frowned as my instincts alerted me. Did she get into trouble again? Just as I was about to go out of the room, she walked in, holding a tray.
"Here's your dinner." She said, placing it on the stool, beside the bed.
"What took you so long?" I asked, taking my seat.
"S..sorry, I...I..." She kept stuttering and I looked up.
"Why do you always stutter? Do I scare you?" I had to inquire.
She quickly shook her head, flashing me am apologetic smile. "I just hope I get away with this. Forgive me for not bringing your meal on time."
What? Why does she think there was a punishment for everything she does?
I stared at the plates on the tray. There was only one there, didn't she prepare hers too?
"Are you going to sleep on an empty stomach?"
"I..I.. I'm used to it. Going on an hunger strike is my thing and even though I'm hungry, there'd be no food for me."
"Uh?" I raised my brows, quite surprised. She covered her mouth with her palm, I guess she said didn't say that on purpose. I could say her family are so cruel.
Well, when mom and dad were still alive, dad always acted indifferently towards me and treated me like garbage sometimes. Mom always stood by my side and convince my father on taking it easy on me.
I took up the post of the CEO even though I wasn't interested in the family's business. I just wanted to impress my father and do everything to be a better son.
I don't even know why I feel sympathy towards Adeline, she had been through alot in her life and I could tell. Only if the Moon Goddess could show me some mercy and revoke the curse being placed on me; I wanted her to live a better life, one free of troubles.
"We can share mine." I told her and she declined immediately. "You don't have a choice, let's eat." After hesitating for a while, she sat beside and we ate together.
Scooping a spoon of the meal she made I nibbled on it with relish..wow.
This was the best meal I've ever had, this tasted exactly like my mom's.
After eating, we went to bed and in the middle of the night, I woke up due to the incessant headache I was feeling. I reached for the pain relievers in the drawer and took some pills.
I stood up, striding towards the window. Looking at the moon makes me feel better; it's shining light gives me hope– hope that the Moon Goddess would surely break this curse off me.
I was almost going back to bed when my eyes caught something on the window. I frowned, picking it up. It was a letter and I tore the envelope apart.
'Meet me at the Creek, tomorrow midnight unfailingly.' It read.
I was thrown into a fit of confusion. Was this letter for me? Who dropped it here and what business does the anonymous person has with me?
Thank you for reading. Please do well to add this book to your library. I'll appreciate your reviews too
Adeline's POV I could feel the ray of sunshine on my face and noone needed to tell me it was morning already. It's time for school but first I have to wash Eva's stinking cloths. Oops! I had forgotten I wasn't with my family anymore. The thought of washing her clothes especially her panties was a burden to me. The stench that comes from it is always more than I could handle. I could tell she had been sleeping with a lot of guys, her clothes gave out different perfumes each day. If I could recall well, Dane was her mate and I don't get why she'd go out with other guys. Wasn't he enough to please her? He was a handful, always fucking her. I have overheard Eva's moans many times. Dane's orgasm never ceased to draw maps on her bedsheets and it's so annoying that I have to clean their mess! Sigh... I'm so unhappy today, I felt relieved that I escaped Eva's clutches yesterday but I'd be seeing her today, again. Can I even do without her? I just wished I could make myself invisible,
Adeline's POV I quickly broke from the hug. Gosh, I forgot he warned me not to hug him anymore. Why do I forget things easily? "I'm... I'm sorry. I just hugged you." I took some steps away, biting my lower lips, my eyes gazing at the floor. Seeing him quiet, I decided to use that as an opportunity to run away from this awkward moment. But I was stopped and stunned when Aiden hugged me again. My brows widened as I reeled in shock. Aiden just hugged me! Why would he hug me when he wants me completely away from him? I heard him groan, sniffing a bit. Was he crying? "Aiden…?" I called his name slowly. I returned the hug, patting his long hair. I left him to let out his tears, maybe that could make him feel better. It works for me but I don't know if it would for him too. Whenever I get bullied or punished, I soak myself in tears and let out all my pains and anguish. "Adeline, I'm sorry you have to be entangled in this web with me. I didn't feel good when Gabriella spo
Adeline's POV Shit! It's the principal!Eva shifted back to human form and her chest heaved fast, anger boiling within her."To my office right away!" He ordered and Eva flashed me a look of disdain before walking out with her friends."Fuck you!" Olivia raised her middle finger, rolling her eyes at me. I ignored her and trailed behind them as we all made our way to the principal's office."According to the rules and regulations, it's forbidden to shift while at school." The principal began, fixing his eyeglasses properly to rest on the bridge of his nose."Who initiated the fight?" He asked, folding his arms."This bitch crossed her lane!" Eva pointed accusing fingers at me. Principal Simeon shook his head, tilting his eyeglasses down a bit "No cuss words at school, Eva.""Fuck, she…" Eva paused when she received another disapproving look from the principal. She can never stopped using cuss languages. It's a part of her."Principal, she came late to school and as the punctuality p
Aiden's POV "How's she?" I asked, walking into the room with a worried expression spread all over my face. The doctor nodded, hanging the stethoscope around his neck. "She's getting better. Her temperature had drifted back to normal and please make sure to use the drugs being prescribed." He advised before I nodded. "Thank you." I said and he smiled, taking his leave the next minute. I strolled closer to the bed where Adeline was lying, looking all sick and pale. The bruises and deep cuts on her skin were visible, anyone who had done this to her must be so wicked and heartless. Torture is so inhumane. Why? Why had they done this? My fingers trailed down her bruised cheek, brushing past the spot that was wounded. So deep…. I saw her wince and quickly withdrew my hand. I shouldn't disturb her and just leave her to rest. I guess it was her sister who had done this to her. I might just have her change her school but everyone in the pack knows her to be an omega and I
Adeline's POV I didn't feel comfortable with Aiden leaving the house at midnight. I watched him through the window as he left and my instincts kept telling me there was trouble ahead.I gulped, a frown spreading across my face as I say on the bed. God, why do I have a feeling this wasn't going to end well.I squeaked the door open and stepped out of the room to get water. I had to ease the thirst I was feeling down my throat. As I walked past the hallway to get water, I heard Hudson's and uncle Thane's voice coming from the room. I wanted to ignore but I decided to eavesdrop as I heard Aiden's name being mentioned."He'll always be the stupid one, dad. A mere latter would lead him to his doom." Hudson mentioned amidst a loud laughter. I gasped my brows scrunched up in disbelief. Why would they want him dead? I asked myself.I had thought about this before now. These people aren't the least righteous."I have arranged some mad rogue werewolves to deal with him. In no time, he'll be
Adeline's POV I could hear thunderstorms and when I looked up at the cloudy sky, I realised it was about to rain.Aiden was still unconscious and I was damn worried.I couldn't control my tears, I really wanted Aiden to survive this.I kept shaking and hitting him but he didn't move; he just remained still, his eyes shut.It began to rain, and at first it started with drops but in no time, there was a heavy downpour.I looked around for refuge and then I saw a small abandoned hut. Quickly, I dragged Aiden along as I made my way there.I coughed as the smell of dust hit my nose. The hut was almost wrecked and I guess it had been deserted for years.I laid Aiden on the worn-out mat, still in tears. Was he going to leave me now?His wounds were deep and I doubted if they'd ever heal. "Aiden? Open your eyes. I'm here, everything's fine." I sobbed, my voice croaky. I wiped my tears as my eyes caught a knife, lying carelessly on the cracked floor. I picked it up, my fingers rubbing the e
Adeline's POV "Aiden, I don't think coming back to this house is a good idea." I frowned as we approached the mansion which was just ahead of us.I knew those relatives of his aren't gonna back down. They were going to make sure to bring Aiden to the ground even with the last drop of their blood.Aiden grinned, halting in his steps. "Yeah, we have to return." He said, turning to me. "I would have suggested we stay at one of my other houses but Uncle Thane now has everything." He sighed."Hell, no!" I widened my brow in shock. Why would he go that far? Well, I shouldn't be surprised. If he could try to kill his nephew then claiming his property was less a big deal."Oh yeah, yeah Del. They'd try to kill me again but I'll be careful this time." He nodded."Alright." I swallowed hard as we went on. Walking in, Nora was the first person we saw. She kept pacing through the room and when she noticed us in the room, she looked up."Ma'am, Mr Albert! Where have you been?" She asked, worry
Aiden's POV I grinned as I saw Adeline fidget beside me. It felt kinda good teasing her, why would I even choose that line.Honeymoon? I chuckled. I'm taking things too far. She looked kind of scared but hey ! I was joking. The whole house was steaming hot so I just wanted to have a good time with Adeline.'Love is a good thing.' Yeah, and I've made up my mind to try it out. It wouldn't hurt, would it?"Stay calm, Del." I patted her hair but she looked away. "Aiden, what are you doing?""It's not a crime to hold my wife, is it? I've always told you to stay away but now, I want you close, uh?" I placed her head on my chest. It's been two days since we got married but I felt like I've loved Adeline for years now. Unrequited love was one thing I'd never want and now I'm beginning to wonder if she would reciprocate my feelings.Does she loves me too?"Um Aiden, can we just do this honeymoon thing some other day?" Adeline gave me an awkward smile before trying to stand again but I grab
Adeline's POV I opened my eyes to see pair of worry filled ones. I gazed at everyone — my sister, mom, Sienna and Ryker."God, you're awake!" Mom rushed to my side, kissing my cheek.I frowned, wondering what had happened. All I remember was having a conversation with Reyna, how did I get here?"You fainted after the energy transfusion, Adeline." Reyna mentioned, her tone etched with nervousness. "Are you okay now?""Good Lord, Adeline. I was almost scared to death." Sienna held her chest, sighing in relief. Ryker was the only one who wasn't saying anything and I noticed the tension between her and Reyna. "My baby." Mom wiped her tears off her eyes, staring at me tenderly. I felt mesmerised, this was the first time I'd be experiencing so much motherly love. I hope this last longer and forever."I'm fine, you all. You don't have to worry." I tried to assure everyone but they still seemed tensed. "You didn't read all the contents in the book, Adeline." The Pack doctor, Rose mentione
Adeline's POV I dashed into the Sacred room, flipping through the pages of one of the books neatly arranged in the bookshelf. I just needed answers to my curiosity, I wanted to know a way to keep Reyna alive; since the Pack Doctor had made me to understand that aborting the baby would be a big risk as my womb was still tender.I returned the book and picked another and on the front page, was body written, 'Moon-Twin bonding; rules and remedy.'A smile settled on my lips and I quickly hid the book, returning to my room. I shut the door and sat on the bed, carefully studying the contents in the book. The first chapter read 'Bonding Failure; remedy.' Yes, this was exactly what I needed. 'One, the other twin has to donate a vail of blood to keep the other alive if a problem arises'. I paused, closing the book. A vail of my blood? That shouldn't be something difficult. Finally! Reyna would live and after I'm delivered of my baby, we can just go ahead with the Bonding."Reyna!" I called
Narrator's POV Ryker began developing feelings for Adeline during her training at the academy.Even though everyone else in the Pack hated her, he has that one feeling that seemed to grow each passing day and he just couldn't control the urge to see her every moment.During the years when she left, his mind had always been with her and her disappearance from his life, left a deep void. Yet, he couldn't express his feelings to her as he felt it would seem improper. He was her teacher and she was just his student, she respected and maintained the formal relationship between them, but Ryker wanted something more.Worst case, he was way older than she was.His mind had drifted into confusion ever since the day he found out Reyna was his mate and it grew worse when he came to realise that she and Adeline were friends. And, there was even a possibility that they were siblings. He was their uncle and that had made everything more complicated. He ought not be involved in any love relations
Adeline's POV My heart ripped off in pieces the moment I beheld Reyna lying in pain in the bedroom."Reyna, p...please, stay for me. Stay for my sake." I said but even in her weak state, the strong walls of hatred she had built for me didn't crack a bit. They held firm. Even unto this day, I don't know the best way to lift her hopes. I didn't know how to tell her everything was going to be fine."You caused this, Adeline. If I die this way, I swear I won't be able to forgive you." She shook her head, her voice coming out like a whisper yet it was like a sharp needle, piercing through my heart.I really wanted to sacrifice everything to make Reyna live but I was unsure about getting rid of my baby. Even though the circumstances that surrounded how I got the pregnancy wasn't any good to tell, I just felt it would be cruel to go for abortion. But now, Reyna's life was on the line. What if I gave up my child and at the end Reyna and I aren't related? I just couldn't stop asking myself th
Aiden's POV I stepped out of my car, my assistant opening the car's door for me.Hardly had I alighted when the reporters swarmed around me. I've been used to their craziness ever since I took over my position as the CEO of Albert Corp. I had to patch up so many mistakes my uncle has made in the past months and trust me that man has done a lot; but with the family's secret fund he didn't know about and didn't get to touch, I was able to restore the company back to normal.I ignored their numerous questions, walking into the building. I didn't bother to return the greetings from my employees and went straight to my office."Mr Albert, here is your schedule for this week." My assistant, Layla said with a smile on her face. I had to replace everyone uncle had employed before and hire new ones.Hell, they weren't even up to the company's standard and all they do is take salary for nothing."Read out!" I ordered, my gaze fixed on my laptop. I listened to her speak and after she was done,
Adeline's POV I sighed, checking the calender. My birthday was fast approaching and they meant Reyna's death day was approaching too.I had to do something. I planned to get rid of this baby but wouldn't that mean taking risks?I don't feel endangering this innocent baby's life was a nice idea, still I imagined the disgrace I'd face when the whole Pack finds out that I was pregnant and didn't even know the father of my child."Breakfast is ready." Sienna announced, jolting me out of my thoughts. It's been two days now since I got to her place where she stays with her mother."I... don't think I'm hungry, Sienna." I shook my head though it was a lie. This baby had been making me consume so much food lately and I feel hungry every minute.Yesterday, I finished three bowls of rice and even wanted more. At midnight, I was hungry too. Aside from the baby shifting position every time, the baby whether a she or he was consuming more than enough.I had always dreamt of having a child with Ai
Adeline's POV "She's pregnant." The Pack doctor announced and immediately she said that, my heart sank. Pregnant? No, that can't be possible!"That's why the Moon-Twin bonding didn't work, the seed in her is stopping her wolf from reacting." She added.Tears streamed down my eyes freely, I can't believe this. "I said it, you're bad luck Adeline!" Reyna yelled, running her hands through her hair. "You want me to die, don't you?""I... I'm confused.." I stuttered, short of words. "M...aster." I turned to Master Ryker whose face was filled with a dark glint. "Who got you pregnant, Adeline?" He asked, his voice husky. I shook my head slowly, my words hanging in my throat. How can I answer his question? I've mated with two different men.Could it be Aiden or that stranger Eva made me hook up with?"She's definitely pregnant with that man's child. A one nightstand doesn't result into something good, does it?" Reyna hissed."What do I do?" I asked, my voice trembling. "Abort the baby,
Adeline's POV "Hey Adeline, you're back to the academy. It's really been a long time." Theresa said, beckoning on her other friends. I gulped, watching them giggle. "Yeah, I'm back. Do you have any problem?""I heard the MoonCrest Alpha rejected you, aren't you supposed to be sulking at home instead of pretending to be concerned about the soldiers?" One of her friends asked."Does she even have a home?" Theresa scoffed."No, she does Resa. She now stays at Master Ryker's place." Theresa widened her brows, moving closer to me. What's wrong now?"Why are you suddenly back now? You're here to steal him away again, aren't you? Master has always liked you, and he doesn't even act like I exist." She began to sob and I frowned, wondering what was wrong with her.How is that my fault? Besides, Master Ryker only sees me as his student and nothing else."You have to stop with this, Theresa. This is not the Adeline you used to know. If you're to bully me again, shoo little fly, get out of my
Adeline's POV I settled for the room beside Reyna's since she objected sharing a room with me when I asked. The reasons for her actions were still all confusing to me. She has suddenly changed form the jovial girl I knew and was now treating me like I was some stranger. "I don't think I can join you tonight, Master. I don't feel good. I seem to have lost my appetite to eat anything." I shook my head, staring at my feet. "You don't have an appetite or you're avoiding your sister?" He asked, folding his arms.I looked up, swallowing hard. How did he find out I was only lying? It was all true, I didn't want more of Reyna's tantrums tonight.I just wanted to sit solo and think my life through. Her sudden change was a shock to me and I wondered how she could change so quickly.Master Ryker pulled me out of the room, as we made our way to the living room. "I have something to say and it's important." He said as we reached the dining area."I didn't make dinner for three as I wasn't awa
