"David Kolawole Dolapo!!!" My mom screamed for the fifth time now

We were all staring at the news publication that had my face in the front page. News that was obviously unnecessary to the public.

"SENATOR DANIEL DOLAPO'S SON SPOTTED ON THE STREETS OF ABUJA, BEING HARASSED BY SOME OF THE POLICEMEN FOR VIOLATING TRAFFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS" Dami read out loud

"And who is that girl?" My mom shrieked pointing at Dora

"Just a friend" I managed to say with a shrug

"Oh God Kola! Do you want to soil this family's name and damage our reputation?"

Why is she being so worked up about this?

"Mom, you haven't even heard my own side of the story"

"I....warned.....you....about...things....like.... this" she managed to say with gritted teeth

"But that's just news the reporters were looking for to sell or....." I was interrupted

"Tell that to your father in Australia! I can't even....." She grunted in frustration and covered her face with her pal
