CHAPTER FIFTY SIX

It was a cool and not too long ride, we all chatted on the way. Asher pulled up at the scanty garage in the large hospital, and we all came down one after the other.

Immediately I stepped my feet out and inhaled the toxic air of the environment, I felt my stomach churn in nostalgia (bad nostalgia) and the saliva in my throat suddenly became hard to swallow.

"Are you okay?" David held my shoulders and pulled me close to a comfortable hug

"Mmmhmm" I nodded

"Let's go in......." He said and let go of the hug. I entered with all of them and we went towards one direction upstairs.

WARD 25---- it was where my mom has been all these while

Asher creaked open the door and stood, making space for me to enter first

My mom was seated up and resting her head on one of the pillows....she was on a call

"Lawyer I don't want you to try your best, I want you to do it" my mom's voice sounded frail on the phone

She hung up immediately her attention was drifted to me and she acknowledged
