it's been two weeks since I got married and let's just say I didn't know what to feel. My so called husband has been avoiding me, he doesn't like to get close to me nor does he even look my way, I've been assigned to a teacher who comes around to tutor me for some hours on school work, I haven't seen my friends neither have I seen my family, I only talk to them on phone.

Alfonso hasn't been home for a week, even when he's around, he's either inside his office or in the guest room, it felt as though I was an attic which he just wanted to add to his collection to adorn his house. Even the teacher, who was in his late thirties is scared to speak to me sometimes, because of the bodyguard who always stayed with us throughout.

Everything was so confusing that I felt as though my head would burst any seconds from the thinking I've been doing since I stepped into this house. I wanted to get to know Alfonso more, to know what he did to acquire everything he had, why men in black suit surrounded our house 24/7, why I wasn't allowed to go out without a bodyguard, so many questions burnt my brain and it was very disturbing.

I layed on my bed as I mindlessly scrolled through my phone, just then a message came in. it was from my Parker, my crush who had asked me out the day I received a marriage proposal, I wanted to ignore it, but my feelings didn't let me.

Parker😍: Hey

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Hi

Parker😍: What are you up to?

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Nothing much, just lying down and watching tiktok videos.

Parker😍: Ok, I actually wanted to ask you something, if you don't mind?

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Shoot.

Parker😍: Why did you cancel our date?

Not many people knew I got married and I wanted to keep it that way, just my sisters, their friends, our family and family Friends. I had a bestfriend who had moved to Japan a year ago, so she couldn't attend the wedding but I made sure I had informed her.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Well something came up, that's why I had to cancel, that's the same reason why I stopped coming to school too, sorry.

Parker😍: it's fine, I really miss you though.

At this, I felt butterflies. Never in my whole life did I think Parker, the hottest guy in my school would miss me when he had tons of girls throwing theirselves at him.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Me too.

Parker😍: Will you be coming anytime soon?

At this my smile fell from my face and the butterflies died down, at this point I realised I needed to get over him because there was no way we were ever going to get together again, I am married and Parker would stay away too if he knew that.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: I won't be coming anytime soon, I might not even be able to finish school there.

Parker😍: Really? I never even got a chance to confess my feelings, I really like you, you know?

My breath hitched. He liked me too.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: I didn't know that.

Parker 😍: I guess you are the only one who didn't know that. My friends and alot of people at school knew. I was even planning on asking you to prom.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: I liked you too.

Parker 😍: Liked?

Priscilla ❤️🔥: I still like you, I've always liked you and might continue to do so but I'm really sorry I realized your feelings late.

Parker😍: It's okay, but if you decide to come back, just know that I like you so much.

Priscilla ❤️🔥: Alright, we can still talk on phone though an----

I was not able to send the last message because my phone was suddenly snatched from my hands.

"Who the fuck is Parker?" I stared back at Alfonso with wide eyes. His voice was calm but I could feel his hard stare.

when did he get back and how did he walk up to me without me noticing?

"Someone." I mumbled looking down.

"you mean your boyfriend?" He scoffed. "Before you forget, you are married to me now and you are mine, so whatever relationship you have with that boy it has to end now."

"why should it end? you don't even see me as a woman, but he does." I replied folding my hands across my chest.

"if you don't." He sneered as he squeezed my phone tightly in his hands.

"What will you do?" I dared to ask.

"I'll fucking kill him." He yelled as he smashed my phone to the ground, as the pieces flew everywhere.

"How? Do you think killing someone is easy to do? do you want to be a murderer?" I asked with a shaking voice.

"Really? You think I can't do it?" His voice got lower as he came closer and grabbed my waist, making fear creep inside me. "Try me."

"Who are you?" I whispered as the gears in my head started to turn.

"Someone you don't want to mess with so you better mind yourself and be on your best behaviour." He replied as his hands held my waist tighter. "And what did you say? I don't treat you like a woman?"

"Yes, you said that yourself." I replied angrily as I glared up at him.

"That's true, because I still see you as a child." He shrugged as he suddenly let me go.

"I’m eighteen.” I huffed. “And it’s not my fault I’m married to someone twelve years older than me."

"That's the main purpose I married you, you looked so innocent and I didn't want any low life putting his hands on you." He sneered.

It wasn't for my body afterall.

"So I'm just for decorations?" I asked to finally confirm my status in this house and to him.

"Do you want to be more than decorations? because trust me you won't be able to handle it." He snickered before walking away.

Who the hell did I get married to?

I'm starting to regret that decision of mine because it seems to be dragging me to hell.

After what happened this morning, I've been hiding away in my room because Alfonso won't leave the house. He has been in his office but I'm scared if I leave my room, I might bump into him. I was foolish enough to think I would even be treated properly and at this point, I realized money can't buy happiness. I was not happy It dawned on me that true happiness lies in the simplest things in life - love, laughter, and a sense of purpose. Money can provide temporary pleasures, but it can never buy contentment or fulfillment. In this realization, I made a decision to let go of my materialistic lifestyle and pursue a more authentic existence. I missed my family so much, but then again, I couldn’t do much. All these sacrifices were made for them and if they were happy, then I’m glad I’m the reason behind it. I cried my eyes out as I thought of the many things I could be doing right now, I never had the time to properly wish my friends goodbye neither do I know if I’m ever going to step

I continued to run as lots of men chased after me, the road looked empty but I believe if I ran far enough then I would get to a busy road.
