Chapter 73. Privilege

Ryn turned each of Lance's two eyes to gaze at him. She could always rely on the man to give her the impression that she was in the proper place. Perhaps it was because she had met Lance as her first acquaintance in Wolfspring. Maybe it was because Lance constantly chatted and reprimanded her whenever she behaved carelessly. Ryn believed that Lance was the one who treated her like a person who needed to be taken care of constantly and showed her such deep concern for her. Lance always handled her like one of his most precious assets.

"I am not skilled in mind reading or eye gazing. So, please, I need you to say it," Lance continued, finally realizing that Ryn wasn't the only person in the room.

Ryn gave a couple of quick blinks. The girl turned to look away and lowered her head to lick her lips. Breathing deeply, she also pulled her hand from Lance's clasp.
