Chapter 76. Meet Drake Harmon

Only a few people came to the coffee shop. Just three of the two rows of tables on the right and left sides of the door were occupied by customers. At that moment, Lance and his mother happened to be sitting at the corner table, so they had a more comfortable space to catch up.

"How was your day, Lance? Good? I didn't see you come to the ice cream shop. Is everything okay?" asked the woman with a hairpin embedded in her hair, Judith.

"Yeah, good as always. Nothing to worry about," Lance replied.

"But you also forbade me from coming to the apartment. Are you hiding something from me?" asked Judith with eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Lance's eyeballs rolled restlessly as he smiled awkwardly. That expression made Judith even more suspicious that Lance was hiding something.

"Tell me! What are you hiding from me, hum?" Judith smiled, teasing Lance while moving her chin.

"Ah... um... no. I'm not hiding anything," Lance said.

"Don't try to lie to a mother, Lance. A mother has strong feelings,"
