Erasing the memory of his old lovers

The next day, before they could reach the destination that they intended to hand Fiona over, Freya decided to put her to the test secretly.

“What will the weather be like today?” She asked her. Her eyes turned that strange clear colour again before she spoke.

“It will rain heavily.” She replied. “Fur heavy in weight, the smell of dampness, trailing mud into the Maria’s home.”

Freya’s lips twitched and she could not believe she was ever stupid enough to worry about anything that came out of her mouth. The sky was fucking clear, with no signs of clouds in the distance. Freya laughed, feeling light and airy, her burdens burned away. Obviously Fiona was too young to have any reliable predictions; too young and having gone through too much trauma. Of course she claimed to see things.

But then two hours later, the same clear sky from earlier darkened ominously and then the skies opened above them, so torrentially that they had to wait a few minutes for the worst to pass.
