"Oh, sorry for interrupting you!" Someone cried from the crowd standing by the door.
Seth and I flinched for a second time, and moved away from each other. Practically, we had both acted like criminals who had been caught committing a crime. I really didn't want to believe what was happening. I would never have expected the journalists to come into the room I had paid for, for the night.
All I wanted was for the bed to swallow me at this moment.
Erin walked to me with widened eyes. She glanced at Seth, turned to me, glanced back at Seth, turned back to me. She was totally dazed. Obviously.
"Louella? What's going on?" She whispered. I would rather say she was being dramatic. Why had she moved her eyes that way? And why in the world was she whispering as if I had been doing something with him?
I sighed, quite worried. "How did the media get here? Nothing was happening between us, trust me."
She ran her fingers through her hair, sighed. "Girl, I was only gone for a few days, and now, this had to happen?"
"It's not like I knew it would," I defended myself.
She shook her head for some reason. "Fine, get up now."
I turned to Seth, glared hard at him. Until now, I hadn't noticed he was wearing a boxer. What a relief. But woah, what would everyone think now? How could he have kissed me? It had been like we were about to do something. How in the world did these people get into the room?
"Can you see what you've caused?" I groused at him.
Hearing my voice, he turned to me, scowling as well. "See, we've got to look for a way to cover this. If we don't get rid of these journalists, this matter will be the topic of discussion tomorrow morning."
"Can you see how much you've ruined my reputation?" I rolled my hands in a fist, totally enraged. Only if he had left the room earlier, none of this would have happened.
He snorted. "Your reputation? Ridiculous."
Saying that, he hopped from the bed, walked to the journalists who were trying to find their way into the room. What was he planning to do now?
“Seth Lee, are you truly having an affair with her?”
“Were you planning to harass her or something? Why was she ringing the emergency button?”
“Are you both in a relationship?”
Those were the questions they were asking him. Oh, no, not an affair!
He exhaled, ran his hand through his face, gazed intently at them. "This is a misunderstanding. Well, you see, Louella and I are in a relationship. We wanted to order a drink, but then, she accidentally rang the emergency button, instead of the care service button."
I gawked, and jumped from the bed. This man was definitely insane.
"But sir, she rang the button multiple times. Why was that?" The journalist pointed out.
I cooked in anger and a bit of fear, then hurried over to them. "You all shouldn't—"
"We were kind of doing the wall-kissing thing. So while she was leaning her back over the wall, she was accidentally pressing the button," he lied further.
I was tense, infuriated, so scattered, really speechless. When he had said we had to cover this issue, I hadn't thought he would say something this crazy. In a relationship? Gosh, what would they think of me now? This man had ruined my reputation!
"Stop lying!" I faced him, throwing hard glares at at him. I pointed a finger at him, my teeth clenched. "Hey, I don't even know you. I've only met you once. Lying to them won't solve the problem. You should just tell them you came into the wrong room."
"Our relationship is a private one." He walked past me, resumed speaking with the journalists. "So please, don't mind her. She's denying this cause she doesn't want anyone to find out. I don't understand how you all managed to get in here, but please, can you leave this instant? We were in the middle of something."
"Oh my goodness." That came out in a whisper. I couldn't stop boiling. I put my hands over my mouth, feeling the need to stab him soon.
Middle of something? Him? Me? Us? Yuck!
Neo, Leo, and some other men began to ask all the journalists to leave the room. As soon as they all stepped out, a middle-aged woman hurried to Seth, Erin, and me, seeming like she was fretting.
"Mr. Lee, I'm so sorry for this. We gave her the wrong room," the woman said.
I glared even harder. What type of service did they offer in this hotel? Also, he glared. We were both glaring.
"Stupid service," he spat out. Walking to the bed, he slipped on a white, cotton robe, tied its string, and turned to the door.
I just frowned at him as he acted like an angry ram. I was equally angry, or maybe even more angry. He had tried to prevent his reputation from being ruined, but I felt he had only worsened the matter.
"How can you make such a mistake? Do you realize what you've caused?!" I roared at the woman.
She lowered her head. "I'm so sorry, ma'am. This is a mistake from one of our workers. For compensation, we'll refund your money, and let you stay in a more comfortable room, for the night."
"I'll leave instead." When I heard Seth say that, I turned to him. He already had his bag in his hand. As soon as he took a step forward, about ten men hurried over to him, and walked behind him. About stepping out, he glimpsed at the woman. "For what you've caused tonight, your hotel will make a lot of loss in the next one month."
"S-Sir." I saw tears in the woman's eyes as she hurried to him. "Please, don't do that. We'll give you all you need. We'll compensate you at all costs. Don't—"
He cut her off by walking past her, and walking out of the room. As soon as he did so, I snapped my fingers at Leo and Neo, gesturing they should take the poor woman out of the room. And then, it was Erin and I left.
She rolled her eyes, dropped her hands on her waist. "And now, you'll just stand there?"
"Erin!" I rushed to her, threw my body against hers. "Gosh, I'm freaking out! I'm so sorry for making you feel hurt. What am I gonna do now? That dude's ruined my life."
"That's okay. Calm down." She patted my back, spoke as calm as possible. "You'll just have to choose the right thing. It's either you guys pretend to the media, or you run away from this situation."
I pulled away from her, bit my lower lip hard, groaned at myself. "I swear, that man will pay for what he's done. He lied to the media!"
She sighed. "Come and have a seat first. You need to calm down."
"How in the world did everyone get into the room?"
"I'll explain everything, only if you take your seat."
Helpless, I just nodded, and walked to the bed with her.
So, did this mean I was doomed? And, was I to pretend like we were actually in a relationship, or was I to run away?
I guessed I just had to calm down. Again, this would pass. I was Louella.

I was above being frustrated. Since morning, I hadn't even been able to work properly. I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened last night. I hardly let things affect me, but this time around, this was affecting me so bad! How could he have gone as far as lying to the media?"This is the reason I tell you to stop being so stubborn," Erin continued to scold me.I rolled my eyes. "Can you stop blaming me now? I didn't know the emergency button was connected to the other parts of the hotel. But wait, how did the reporters get in there?""Um…" she sucked her teeth, drummed my fingers against the table. "Well, there was this guy who came to announce that Seth and you were in a room."I glared. "What?! How did the guy know that?""Calm down, okay? I heard Seth's gotten him arrested," she informed me. Leaning her back against her seat, she sighed. "The guy's a
His body seemed to have frozen, as his eyes shot irateness and hatred at me. Though his dirty look was so threatening, not a bit did I feel the need to release his sister from my capture. He had been telling me how well this lie had helped him, so what happened to him now? His throat got cut?"How did you get my sister?" The way he glared at me, was as if I had murdered his entire family in the past. I wished I could do that.I sucked my teeth. "Since I'm kind of influential, I managed to get quick information about your family. I heard she owns a boutique, so I went there to get her.""Did you kidnap her?" He squeezed his face at me, seeming irritated, and snorted.I shrugged. "Maybe. But, not really. Kidnappers always ask for ransom, but all I need is for you to clarify all that's going on on social media."He clasped his teeth. "Is this a threat? Holdin
Definitely, I was so shocked. If it wasn't for the fact I paid some respect to old people, I'd have thrown this man off my body. But well, what if he was one of those old men who always had a memory swing, and maybe thought I was his daughter-in-law? It wouldn't be nice to shame him roughly. I could be mean, but there were certain people I respected."Um, sir, I understand you're not fine. So, in case you need to be told, well, I'm not your daughter-in-law," I said. At all costs, I had tried to be as nice as possible. In fact, I kind of forced a smile. For anyone who cared to know, I was that one person who hadn't smiled in almost a year, unless it was a fake one.He pulled away, held my arms as he smiled. "Nah, I'm not crazy. Aren't you Louella Warren? Oh, I'm sure you must have come to see him. Seriously, I can't wait to see you both have a baby!" He exclaimed."Huh?" I squinted my eye at him, trying
I wasn't making it obvious, but I was surely so excited to begin working with that ass. Erin and I had taken our time to plan our new working schedule. I had to stay up all night, had done a lot of research about the Chinese company Harold had said Seth and I were going to work with. At all costs, I didn't want to disappoint anyone.Inhaling hard, I stood up from the swivel chair, close to the tall glass window that was almost the size of a door, in my study room. Gulping in the last mug of cappuccino, I headed straight to my bedroom to get dressed, and get ready for work."Erin, hurry up. You don't want us to be late." I walked as fast I could. I slapped her butt as she laid on the couch in the living room, shook her legs as well."Oh, come on," she muffled under the blanket. "Just a few more minutes."I rolled my eyes, and slapped her butt harder. A few more minutes? What about me
I couldn't tell what I was to do. I knew I was a strong woman, but he was obviously physically stronger. I had tried to pull him from me, but nothing seemed to be working. He held me so tight, clinging my body to his, like he wanted to get something from me.No man, absolutely no man, had kissed me this hard, and even this long.I shook. To probably taste more of my lips, he stood up from the table, jerked my body to his torso, held me even tighter. All I could do was to struggle to leave his hold, literally infuriated to the extreme.Holding my arms, he turned me around, made me sit on his table. After a little longer, he stopped pulling my lips, and kind of gave me a sly smile."Sh…" He pulled a finger over my mouth. "Don't speak. I'll get back to you. Be right back."And then, he just turned to the lady who was behind him, leaving me to gape in s
I continued to weep on his chest, sweating profusely, although the air conditioner was turned on. I created a fist of his shirt, squeezed it in my palm, ensuring I was expressing my pain to the fullest. In years, I hadn't wept this much. That one kiss was what created this."Calm down." I was surprised to notice him patting my back. I didn't ever want anyone to see me cry, but I couldn't hold back the memory in my head. "I didn't know a kiss would hurt you this much. I think… I'm sorry. Well, hard to say, but, um, sorry. I'm sorry."After a while of weeping, I pulled away, sniffed, wiped my tears, not being able to look him in the eye. I was so embarrassed."You've soaked my shirt." He held his shirt up, stared down at the thing. Ah, shit, this man was maybe one person I wouldn't have ever wanted to see me cry.I rubbed my palm against my eyes, resumed wearing a stern look, a
She exhaled hard. I was pretty sure she wouldn't have behaved this way, if she was observant enough to know Jerome was here with me. She was upset, and probably wasn't aware of anything going on around her. She was hardly this way, but would only act like this when she couldn't control her emotions for too long.I caressed her arms, a bit worried. "Calm down, okay? Tell me what happened. Who kissed you?""It's that irritating man, Seth!" She blurted out, glaring hard, her teeth clasped too."Aha!" I turned to Jerome, walked to him. Standing in front of him, he was kind of smiling. "See? I told you your friend is an asshole. Believe me now?""Wh-What?" Louella bulged her eyes open, sauntered to us. "I-Is he… Seth's friend?""Best friend," I replied sharply. She obviously swallowed. For some reason, she cleared her throat, flared her no
Louella••••••••••I was seated on the three seater leather couch in Seth's office. He had said there was no need to go to the meeting room, since it was only two clients that would be coming around. I hadn't wanted to listen to him, but just accepted that, although I didn't find it so professional to do a meeting in his office. He and I were the only ones in here. Jerome and Erin had gone to Jerome's office, probably being a lovey-dovey. And, to be honest, I was so uncomfortable staying alone with him. The room was silent, only the sizzling sound of the air conditioner making a slight sound. He was on his laptop, glued to it like I wasn't in here.Wait, I didn't need his attention, did I? Also, why was I feeling uncomfortable? It wasn't even like—"They'll be here in a few minutes," he inform
The entire hall was silent. There was no doubt that everyone present in the great crowd in front of me, was in awe, feeling the intensity of the words I was speaking. I smiled a little, pacing around the stage. I stood behind the podium, and cleared my throat. "Now, this goes to the younger women in here." My hands settled on the podium, my shoulders raised proudly. "You see, people still tend to underestimate the power you have. But, I have good news for you. You're capable. What a man can do, you can also do. It's only about the mindset. Anyone can become successful. Don’t let anyone intimidate you." "Yeah," someone from the crowd agreed. I just smiled. They concentrated so much, as if their lives depended on my words. I continued, "Many ladies have lost
Seth laughed at me as I groaned and acted like a child. That was pretty annoying, but well, how could an adult be so scared to take an injection? I hated that thing so, so much. The doctor finally got rid of the syringe, and took care of the injected part of my skin. As soon as he was done with that, he arranged his box, and stood up. I kept squeezing my face like a crying child. He cleared his throat, and started, "Mrs. Lee, you're good to go for your trip. After all the tests we've done, I can confidently tell you that your body system is back to normal. The effects of the poison are completely diminished."I finally smiled. "That's good news. Thanks."Seth held my hand as he sat beside me. "Thanks, do
I sobbed. The pain I was feeling obviously wasn't as crazy as hers, but it felt like mine was worse. She gaped, groans leaving her mouth. Her lips quivered, quite obvious that she wanted to say something. Blood kept gushing out from the left side of her chest, as well as her mouth. Tears left her eyes, the gun dropping from her hand. Her body shook, seeming as if she'd lose her stability soon.I was shocked. Being shocked was an understatement. She was battling to live; battling to save herself.Alarmed, I cried, "Celina!" The moment I attempted to grip her arm, her body impelled backwards. Her legs tripped over each other, and like a weak mango tree, she fell off the cliff.Seeing that, my heart s
The beam of the rising sun shone against my eyes, making me blink slowly. I yawned, the sore pain in my head becoming quite worse. Trying to sit up, I noticed how uncomfortable I was, my hands and legs feeling stuck to something. It took a while for me to open my eyes, and to even notice all that was going on around me. The moment I realized where I was and what was happening, I gasped. I tried sitting straight on this old, dusty floor, and also tried moving away from the ray of the sun which was attacking my eyes. I looked down at my legs which were tied, struggling to help myself out of this bandage. This was already a new day, yet I was still not seen by the police. Were Becca and Celina stronger than them or what? But, I could not remain here, right? If they weren't going to come and get me, it seemed like I would have
I knew I was supposed to run over to him, and cuddled him crazily. Instead, all I was doing was to stare at him. I was really happy. To be honest, in the past few days, I had missed him a lot. There was really no point in denying that."Seth." Gently, I walked over to him, giving him a small smile. He was also smiling, but wasn't saying anything. He cupped my jaw when I reached him. "Sweetie, where have you been?" And pecked my cheek."Gosh, I've missed you." A tear left my eye. What was making me emotional? In such a terrifying situation? He leaned close, hugged me, pecked my forehead. "Oh yes, I've missed you too.""This is really hard for us." I returned his hug, weeping on his chest. "Becca and Celina are doing all this. They really want to have me killed. They're taking it too far.""I know it all. And, most of all, I'm glad you have no
Louella••••••••••I packed the last set of files into my backpack, ready to head out. Spotting a red file on my table, I narrowed my eyes at it, and grabbed it. The moment I skimmed through it, I couldn't help but gape. How in the world had I almost forgotten such an important file? This was the most needed file of all the files I had taken from here.I kept the file in my backpack, slung the backpack over my shoulder. I took a glance at my wrist watch, feeling a bit disturbed and puzzled. I had to leave here soon, before anyone would see me. If Seth had to come now, there was no doubt that he wouldn't want me to leave.First, I had to ensure that I was set to leave here. Once I got back to the beach house, since my phone was already turned on, I would book a flight online, and leave the country for a few months. In the meantime, I would ensure that I
Celina••••••••Becca's complaint was getting too annoying. Why was it so hard for her to understand that we only needed to be as patient as possible? It wasn't as if I wasn't trying my best. Here she was, complaining about her father's betrayal, while I was here, thinking of how to get Seth attracted to me.Days had passed, yet Seth wasn't willing to be close to me. I had gone to his office, and had apologized to me. Yes, he had said he forgave me, but how was I supposed to believe that if he hadn't even called or texted me? It just seemed like my effort to get him was nothing but a waste."Where the heck is Rita?!" Becca barked, smashed her phone against the floor, breathing hard like an insane dog.I rolled my eyes. "Girl, chill. She'll be back soon. I only asked her to grab some files from Louella's office. If we find Louella before
Seth••••••I wasn't feeling so well. Before Louella had come into my life, all I had been doing was to work. But, now that she had gone, it was really hard to work without her. This was so upsetting.Indeed, you only missed your lover when you let her go. To worsen all this, no one knew where she was. I had called her, had texted her, hard searched for her, but it was all to no avail. Maybe I had to file a missing report at the police station. This was too frustrating for me.Dayla walked into my office, a couple of files tugged to her chest. When she dropped the files on my table, she stood in front of the table like a mango tree, looking down.I wiggled a brow at her. "Hey, you need something? Why stand there?""Oh, sorry. I was a bit lost." She laughed weirdly. "Um, someone's here to see you. She says her name is Rita."
Louella••••••••••Staring up at the hazy sky of the evening, seated on the small stool on the porch of this old beach house, I sighed hard. I felt a heavy pain in my chest, feeling the need to cough hard. I knew I was supposed to begin my treatments, but how would I do that when I wasn't willing to go back home?It had been days since I saw anyone. After I had left Seth, I had decided to come to this beach house. This was a place Dad, mom and I used to have a vacation, just before Jan and Becca had come into our lives. Though the place gave me bad memories, I really still liked coming here. It was always filled with serenity.I stared down at my shaky fingers, felt really bad for myself. I didn't know the decision to make. Was I really going to let myself die?In a few days, I would run out of food. I had had some money in my
