Chapter 69

“You were definitely joking about having a divorce. Isn’t it?” Barbara asked with a scoff as she fastened her seat belt.

Richard ignored her and quickly drove off, with his eyes fixed on the road.

“You know you can’t do that. Everyone would make fun of us and people would write ill about us. That would destroy our career and everything we have worked for all these years!” Barbara yelled, breathing heavily and burning in rage.

Still, Richard kept mute and avoided her gaze.

His mind was away and all he could think of was how he was able to enter a trap he couldn’t come out of.

“Why do you go about ruining my name and making me look like that bad person? You know how much Mr. Brown respects me, but you want to ruin that!” Richard yelled out of his lungs, throwing a dead glare at Barbara, who hissed and rolled her eyes.

“What? You expect me to tell him that you are sweet and the most loving husband on earth. I mean, you bore me, Richard!” She said in disgust, hissing aloud in irritation.
