Chapter 200

Barbara glanced at her reflection in the mirror for the hundredth time. She hated every about herself, from her puffed cheeks, to her red eyes and then, her swollen legs that couldn’t fit into any of her shoes anymore.

She sighed again and picked up the pill that was well hidden in one of her bags she hardly went to. Likewise, she picked up the packet and pulled out one from it. Her eyes stayed glued on it as she wondered if anyone took any from it. It seemed to have shortened with one, but she couldn’t recall whether she was the person who took it or not.

“Now the pregnancy is giving me short memory too?” She asked herself as she scoffed and wore a large scowl on her face.

She placed the pill into her mouth and swallowed it, wrinkling her face when the bitter taste of the pill came into contact with her tongue.

“I’m sorry, Richard. I always knew that this thing called marriage would never work out for me. I hate how I look, and I detest how I feel!” She said to her reflection on the
