The next days that followed the argument between Emily and Barbara didn’t have numerous events.

Richard seemed to be busy with work lately, and that limited the time he spent with Emily.

That wasn’t entirely the truth. Richard was in a hole of confusion, and he was certain that it was reaching a point where questions would be thrown at him.

“I would handle this from here”, Richard said calmly, without staring at her.
