CHAPTER 66: TERRIBLY ILL

I walked into the room to talk to Naya, but as soon as I saw her, I knew something was wrong. I blamed myself for being too insensitive towards her earlier on.

I hated the way I always ended up reacting whenever I was angry. She was crying in silence, and my heart immediately went out to her.

I went over to her and held her close, cuddling with her until she eventually fell asleep in my arms. It took a while, but her facial expression while she slept was amazing.

She was sleeping peacefully and that gave me joy. It was obvious that she hadn’t gotten much rest in a long while. It was a peaceful moment, and I was grateful to be able to comfort her.

The next morning, Naya expected me to be at work, but I was still in bed with her. I had a terrible headache, and I couldn't even move a muscle.

Naya called the family doctor immediately, and they found out that I had fallen terribly ill. My dad didn't want to believe that I hadn't fallen sick in years. I was generally a healthy person, a
