CHAPTER 69: JUMBLED THOUGHTS

Talon’s P.O.V

I watched as they took Naya away on a stretcher, her beautiful body looking so fragile and vulnerable. The family rushed around her, making sure she was comfortable and getting her the first aid she needed. I knew I should have gone with them to the hospital, but something inside me refused to move.

So, I stood there, watching them leave until they disappeared from view. I could feel the tears threatening to spill over, but I stubbornly refused to cry. I turned and walked away, my mind in turmoil as I tried to sort through my jumbled thoughts.

It wasn't that I didn't care about Naya. I did, more than I could ever put into words. She was my fake wife who turned out to be my best friend, the person who had been there for me through thick and thin. I couldn't imagine a world without her in it. But at the same time, my heart was in chaos. I had been struggling with my feelings for Naya for a long time, but I had never been brave enough to admit it to myself.
