“Eyes on the road,” I told Caleb when he wouldn't tear his eyes off me.
The stop light changed from red to green, and Caleb turned his eyes back on the road, leaving me free from his disconcerting stare.
I breathed out the air I did not realize I was holding earlier while glancing surreptitiously at his side profile.
