A Bargain She Doesn't Have A Say In It.

Betty's POV

“I, Lycan King, Ryan Kai.." the man blurted, grabbing my chin roughly, and a wince escaped my mouth.

Of course, I knew the words that were next. He was going to reject me.

“I, Lycan King, Ryan Kai, rejects you, Betty Veil as my mate," he growled, his eyes seething with hate, and I felt every cell in my body crying agony.

“You are…” I mumbled, but I bit my lips down, knowing I shouldn't do it but it was what I do when nervous.

“I..Betty Veil…” I was talking but I stopped when the man glared at me. “What are you doing, do you want to reject me? What a joke! You are not fit to accept the rejection,” he glares at me, and my hands trembled hearing that, my heart twisting in pain.

I couldn't even accept his rejection. Why was I subjected to such cruelty? How has my life turned out like this? Everything changing for me in just a day.

*Flashback*

"What are you..saying?" I stutter hoping everything will change and my mother will say what she just said was wrong and she heard it all wrong.

Because how can it be true? How can I accept this?

"I am sorry but it's just that you have to go…we have to save your sister!" I heard my mother yell and my legs get shaky as I heard her words.

"What does it have to be like this? Why does it have to be him?" I asked with a shaky voice because I could not get a hold of my voice.

"Well he was the only one who could help with the payment," my mother says and I sighed knowing that was it.

My little sister was currently in the hospital fighting for her life because she has been critically sick ever since she was young but her condition worsened recently and she needed money for surgery.

My mother was just a housekeeper that gets paid a penny for cleaning people's houses and that was just alright for feeding and could not take care of my sister's hospital bills and I knew that the situation must have been draining for her.

But I never thought she was going to get involved in something like that. How could she sell her daughter to a tyrant Lycan king? Ryan Kai?

"Yes, I knew that desperate times called for desperate measures but don't you think that this is extreme! This man is not even our race!" I yelled, but my mother just sighed.

It was true that the werewolves, Lycans, and all other supernatural beings coexist but we can't disregard the differences and the superiority of them to us could not be denied.

How could my mother think of selling me off to a Lycan king? A ruthless one at that!

"So what? I needed to save you sister. Did you think I care about things that are meaningless like that? " She bellowed and my heart broke hearing her words but I knew that she was also hurting and did not mean her words to be that harsh.

Even though what we heard was rumors we still could not disregard the fact that it was true.

"Yes, mother, I know that we need help but don't you think…" I was saying but my words got cut off when I heard a knock on the door of our crappy house that if banged too much it might actually fall off.

"They are here..you should not keep them waiting," my mother said, giving me my bag and she urged me to leave, turning her bag on me.

I have never seen my mother vulnerable before and I knew that it must be hard for her so I decided not to push it.

"I will be back," I say but I knew that was a lie. There is no way I was coming back to her. "Tell Priscilla to get better and not get sick anymore," I say.

My eyes were brimming with tears as I turned away from my mother and followed the men who already made their way into the house. Immediately I stepped my foot into the car. I knew that my life had changed and I should just embrace a life that is not mine and could never be mine.

The drive to the Lycan Palace was long and when we went there I was amazed by the house interior but I got more pressing issues which u decided to address when I went to the room I was put into.

I was taken to a medium sized room which I suspected was going to be mine from now on and I started thinking of a way to escape but my thoughts got interrupted when I heard a sound.

I heard the loud sound of an approaching step and I panicked knowing that it might be the Lycan King who I was waiting for so I quickly decided to hide.

I walked around the room trying to look for a place to hide when I noticed the nice paintings on the wall.

"This person must have a good taste when it comes to art," I say and I quickly went behind a painting that was big enough to cover me as a shield and immediately I went into hiding when the door to the room opened and two people walked in.

"I hope you have already informed her about what she ought to do. I don't want to undress anyone," I heard a deep baritone voice ask from where I was hiding and I was surprised to hear the man say such a raw thing but I knew that was all there was to it.

A thing of pleasure and nothing else.

"She is not here…I am sure that …" I heard the man panic in fear but the Lycan King sent him off without saying anything.

"I think you should come out now..you should at least start earning your worth without giving me a headache and don't stress me, you don't want your sister's treatment to stop, right?" I heard what he said and that got me jumping out of my hideout immediately and I was facing the back of the man in the room.

The Lycan king!

He turned around to look at me and I I felt the hair on my body stood up in shock as I looked at the face of the man that stands out the most but I felt different.

His aura was sure choking but I could feel my body reacting differently to his presence until I heard his raspy voice.

"Mate!" He breathed out roughly and my breath seized at the realization of what just happened.

Mate? What is that supposed to mean? I wondered since my brain went blank with the realization of what just happened but it was not deniable. It seems to b

e true.

The Lycan king is my mate…and I just got sold to him as his bedmate.
