A TIPSY NIGHT

~FIA~

Just like that, I divorced my husband and was remarried.

"Thank you for not letting me get embarrassed in such a way," I said to the strange man, who introduced himself as Barrett while I signed the divorce paper his lawyer had prepared for me.

Everything was happening so fast.

"Sign this." Barrett said in a low voice, handing over some papers to me.

"A marriage license and a marriage contract?" I asked staring at the papers before me.

"Why should I sign this?"

"You're now my wife and also a debtor." He said with a straight face, making me shift in my seat.

"But we didn't mean it, I mean, I thought you stood up to save me from the embarrassment." I hurriedly said, confusion hitting me as he scoffed.

"Look, we aren't friends. I don't know you, so why would I try to save you from embarrassment?"

"I did it because of the money involved and because I wanted a wife." He said as my eyes widened in shock.

"How do you expect me to have such an amount? I was bluffing." I said, my hands going to my head.

"I wouldn't mind taking your company then."

"You won't do that." I snapped, making him turn his head to me.

"You should think before you make certain promises Fia." He said, no one had pronounced my name with this accent as I felt a blush creep up my face.

"Your company is a rival to my dad's? I can't work with you."

"You'll do whatever I tell you to do wife, and you can never run away from me, don't even think of it." He said as I shakily signed the contract.

"We won't be in any sexual relationship in the two years of this marriage right?" I asked as a smirk played on his face.

"It depends on my mood." With that, he looked at his wristwatch and spoke.

"You have 14 hours to provide the money and move in with me or forever remain my debtor." I gulped down hard saliva as I handed the papers to him, while I alighted his vehicle.

I stood staring as the car sped off, desperately wishing he would be involved in an accident.

"I didn't beg you to get married to me," I yelled in frustration.

"What have I done to myself? I can't get married to my family's rival." I said, making up my mind to flee the country and work hard to pay this debt.

I stepped into the mansion as the maids greeted me.

"Welcome ma." They said in unison as I got into the foyer, but my luggage outside made me ignore their greetings.

"What is this doing here?" I asked as they remained mute with heads bent.

"Can't you speak?" I asked as I tried to get into the house, but seemed my fingerprint was taken off the biometric scanner.

"What's going on," I yelled, banging on the door.

"If I were you, I'd leave without creating a scene," Mama said, walking towards me.

"Why are you doing this? I haven't wronged you." I said to her as a smile danced on her lips.

"I've always hated you, you're a pretender and a flirt. Do you think I didn't know you were having sex with my husband? A man you called father." She accused.

"What? I would never." I said in defense of myself, why would she say so, they hurt me in the first place and she's trying to shift the blame on me.

"Then how would you explain this?" Mama asked, throwing some pictures at me.

"And you dare point a finger at your ex-husband?" She mocked while I tearfully stared at the photos.

It was me and Dad in an intimate position as I gave a small smile, surprised she would go as far as making a photoshop of me and Mr Denzel.

"I never believe you'd stoop lowly just to throw me out," I said throwing the pictures on the floor.

"Those are edited, well I'm not here to banter words with you," I said bringing out the divorce papers from my bag.

"I'm done with this marriage," I announced dropping the divorce papers.

"It took you much time to do this," Mama said with a scoff as I turned to walk away, wondering why I was acting so tough.

Deep down I wanted to beg, but I've gone too far for that, and they aren't ready to take me in.

"Ary is carrying Louis's child, hope we will be seeing you at the baby shower." Mama dropped the bombshell that shattered me.

"I would have loved you to be a nanny to my child, but I'm afraid you would kill it just like you've killed the ones in your womb." Ary mocked, rubbing her flat stomach.

Without giving them the response they wanted, I took out my phone to book an Uber but realized my accounts were seized.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I yelled, frustration eating me out.

"Leave before the securities throw you out," Louis said with a menacing look on his face.

"I've not thrown you out because I still have a little respect for you." He said as I turned to leave, where do I go from here, I would have silently acted like I hadn't seen them getting married, but now I was in a huge debt and a wife to some strange man.

What was I thinking when I made such a promise? I cried in my heart when I heard Mama's cruel voice.

"I don't want to see you step your feet in the Fashion house, it belongs to Ary now."

Once I was out, I fell to my knees as heavy sobs left me. I loved Louis, but I didn't think I would pull through this, everything had been taken from me in a day, my only hope was Barrett, but I wasn't ready to become his puppet.

All I wanted was to get high as I flagged a taxi to a hotel. I would end it all after taking some bottles of alcohol.

Soon, I arrived at the biggest club in the city as I prepared to have fun all night before ending my life. The music blared so loud that I was having a headache but I didn't care, I just wanted to drink away my life.

I downed eight bottles of wine, I was already tipsy but wouldn't stop as I beckoned to the waiter to get me the ninth bottle.

“Are you with someone?” He yelled due to the blaring music as I shook my head giving a small laugh.

“Then that's enough, we don't want you causing a scene.” He said as I began laughing hysterically.

My eyes soon landed on a pole in the middle of the room and with shaky legs, I made my way to the center of the room and began moving to the beats as the crowd cheered, fueling me.

I was tipsy and felt like a professional dancer. I continued dancing and shaking life out of me, when a hand suddenly pulled me, taking me to the washroom.

"What do you think you're doing? The man whose voice sounded familiar asked as I realized he was also as tipsy as I was.

"Oh, what a caring gigolo," I mocked, rubbing my hands on his skin.

"Gigolo?" He tried asking before I shut him up.

"Shhh," I said with my hands on my lips and soon I landed my lips on his, sucking both his lower and upper lips slowly as things got heated up.

As we removed our mouths to catch our breath, I turned to him and whispered.

"Fuck me like you're sex-starved."
