Chapter 4: Who is she?

Rose POV….

My black-colored Rolls-Royce Boatail drove into the parking lot, it tyres screening as it did.

At the back of the car, I was seated, and my two little kids sat next to me. I was dressed In an elegant black silk gown, black heels, and a black hat.

A gold necklace sat on my neck, and my ears were decorated with a matching gold earring. A gold bracelet sat beautifully on my left hand, and my right hand held onto my black designer bag.

“We are here, ma,” my driver voice cooled out, his eyes focused on mine through the front mirror.

“Phew!” I heaved with a sweet smile. “It’s finally good to be home,” I giggled, and my beauty shone forth as I did.

With a swift motive, I turned to my children, who were sitting next to me and operating on their iPad, and said, “Do you want to explore NYC?” The kids lifted their heads up and nodded in delight.

I smiled and patted my kids on their head. “Let’s get off then,” I smiled and led the kids out of the car.

“Is this our new home?” The kids questioned, their eyes dancing around the massive mansion in front of them.

“Yes, kids, do you both love it?” I questioned back, and they nodded happily.

“We love it, mom; it looks exactly like our formal house, but this one is more spacious,” my daughter grinned, her eyes not leaving the massive mansion.

“Oh, really! Just wait till we get in,” I laughed, leading the kids inside the house.

And true to my words, the inside of the building was way more beautiful than they imagined.

I myself was awed; I had only seen the house on the phone but never in reality. The engineer in charge of the house building had sent the videos and pictures of the house while still working on it.

While I stared at the beauty in front of me, my phone chimed, alerting me of an incoming call.

With a swift motive, I pulled the phone out of my bag. I stared at the caller ID and smiled at the name before picking it up.

“Hello, Mr. Dave,” I said with a sweet smile.

“Have you arrived in NYC? I was worried because I tried to reach you countless times, but the network was really bad,” Mr. Dave said into the phone with a worried sigh.

I chuckled at his attitude before replying, “Don’t be silly now, Dave. Remember, I am not a baby, and I can take good care of myself and the kids,” I replied with a pout.

“But still, I am not happy you have to leave me to NYC. How are the kids? I hope they are good?” Mr. Dave bombarded me with questions.

“They are good, and I think they love it here, so you have nothing to worry about,” I assured.

“Is it really okay for you to return to your vomit? I am not happy about this. I need you over here so you won’t get your mental health ruined,” Mr. Dave persisted.

“We already said about this, Dave. I will handle this myself, and yes! If any challenge arises, you will be the first to know. And remember, I am a top model, and I am needed by the company here in NYC,” I explained.

“Yeah, that is right. We don’t even know the company yet, but from the look of things, it is a very reputable one,” Mr. Dave giggled.

“Yeah. I work for only the best,” I laughed, and Mr. Dave joined me.

“Okay then. I will speak to you later; I need to get busy now,” I concluded and ended the call.

As I ended the call, I gasped and fell on one of the parlor couches tiredly. As I sat there on the parlor couch, my mind flashed back to when my life changed for good

FLASH BACK……

It was a cold Sunday evening when I was pushed down a ship by my ex husband and aunt.

And after they had successfully pushed me to the cold hands of death, they left me alone to die, I remembered struggling to live.

But just at the dying moment, where I had already given up on living and had embraced death, Dr. Dave saved me.

He was on a nearby ship, and having the moment of his life, when he saw me struggling to live.

I woke up only to see herself in a hospital. I looked at the hospital strangely, not sure about how I got there, but I was glad I was safe.

I wondered how I got to the hospital, and that was when I remembered how Mr. Dave saved me, and I realized he must be the one who brought her to the hospital. As I reeled at this possibility, the door opened, revealing a pretty nurse.

Out of curiosity to know my exact location, I threw this question at the nurse: “Where is this hospital located? Where am I?” I poured immediately.

The kind nurse offered a reassuring smile before responding, “You are in London,” the nurse’s response was swift and straight to the point.

“London! For how long have I been here?” I questioned further in shock.

“Well, you have been here for 2 days, and you were brought here by a good Samaritan known as Mr. Dave,” the nurse explained further to me.

I couldn’t say another word; I just found myself nodding in joy at the nurse’s explanation. I was very happy I was in a far-away land, probably the place I would start a new life.

As I reeled at her new possibilities, the nurse’s words threw me speechless: “You are 3 months pregnant, ma. Should we contact your husband?” The nurse’s words hung in the air for hours as I tried to make meaning of what I just heard.

They are no way I was pregnant, and not to think of being pregnant for the children of my ruthless ex-husband. “You are kidding, right?” I questioned the nurse in disbelief, but the nurse’s facial expression was enough reply for me.

I sat speechless for minutes as I tried to process the nurse’s revelation; it sounded like a dream to me.

Few months later…..

Dave took me in and helped me. He acted like my husband and helped me throughout my pregnancy stage.

He didn’t stop there, he even went ahead and enrolled me into modeling, he also connected me to top modeling agencies after I gave birth, and since then, my life had been the best.

“Mom! Your phone is ringing,” my son’s voice snatched me back to reality.

I picked my phone, lying next to me, and looked into the caller ID. My face widened in a deadly smile as I stared into the caller ID. ,”It’s finally time” I grinned.
