CHAPTER TWENTY

MELISSA

I had watched as Darius exited the dining hall, gritting my teeth in anger. I had just made a scene by choking on my food but he just shoved me off and asked a maid to fetch me water. A maid. Really?

But when ‘the stupid Hazel’ choked, he was fawning over her as if she just got shot. He didn't even care if something had happened to his baby at that moment. He was just so focused on Hazel. He even allowed her to sit in my seat. She is gradually replacing me in her life and I would not allow it.

“I’m going to my room, bring my food up.” I had said to the maid standing next to me, after Darius and hus stupid made had left.

But the maid was still standing with her head bowed which tickled my anger to burst into flames.

“Are you deaf? Why are you still standing there?” I had yelled at her, throwing my crutches at her, totalling forgetting myself.

“Bring the crutches to me now.” I ordered.

Everyone in this mansion is just driving me nuts.
