CHAPTER NINETEEN

HAZEL

I head towards the stairs but something suddenly hit my memory, and I made a turn to the kitchen. I wanted to see Britney and apologize for my behavior towards her the other day. I shouldn't have forced her to give me directions to the dungeon and make her break her work protocol.

When I entered the kitchen, I saw three maids who immediately stopped what they were doing when they saw me. They bowed slightly. I recognized one of them as the other maid I saw with Britney in the kitchen the other day.

“Good morning to you too. Please, can you tell me where I can find Britney?” I asked.

They all exchanged glances but kept their mouth shut. I found that really weird.

“Is there something wrong? Did she resign?” I asked. I wouldn't be surprised if she did. She might want to avoid Darius's wrath and quickly run away before he could get to her.
