Lorenzo's POV
“Lord Lorenzo…” “Lord Lorenzo!” I blinked and my eyes took in Enzo, my right-hand man. He was right before me, and yet, yelling my name as if I was miles away. My brows furrowed. “Is there a good reason why you should yell my name like that?” “Sorry, boss. You, uh, spaced out in the middle of our conversation when you mentioned about the girl,” he said. My eyelids spread wide on hearing that. Unable to believe it, I asked him, “Are you high or what, Enzo?” “I'm sorry, boss,” he apologized with a soft giggle. “Better be,” I said to him. “So, what were you saying?” He stifled back a laughter and swallowed hard before he answered me. “I wanted to remind you about the arrangements for the Alpha King's arrival,” he said. Honestly, I'd literally spaced out when we were discussing. My mind had been restless since the auction. How could an ordinary omega be blessed with such a heavenly scent? If I hadn't been in a hurry to leave, I'd have taken her with me and made love to her in the backseat of my car. Everything in me — my heart, my soul, my inner wolf, craved having her stripped on my bed. Speaking of which, the auction club was yet to bring her to me. I'd rain hell on them if they made me come take her by myself. “Ah— ah,” Enzo cleared his throat. “Lord Lorenzo…” Not again. Why was I in such a hurry to have her brought to me? “You know what, Enzo? You shouldn't be here asking me petty questions when you already know what to do. Get a large room ready for him. Furnish it with expensive drapery,” I ordered. “Don't let that bastard Nathan make mockery of anything about my pack.” Nathan and I had always been competitive about everything. Growing up in the same pack, we'd been rivals since birth. It wasn't even a year after I became a Lycan that he suddenly became an Alpha King, despite his sloppy ass. I knew he was probably about to go for a record that'd put him above me. I dismissed Enzo and he left with two maids to the mall to buy the items that they needed in order to properly furnish Nathan's room. My female assistant, Ashely, stood behind me with two athletic bodied bodyguards whom I'd assigned to be her private bodyguards. She glanced at the iPad which she carried carefully on her arm. Looking up at me, she announced, “Lord Lorenzo, you have a meeting with Lord Fredo by 2pm.” We were standing at the entrance of my mansion. Glancing at the gate from there, I saw the gate rolling open. “He's already here,” I sighed. “The rooftop has been set up for the meeting,” Ashley said. “From the instructions you gave me, it's going to be a two-hour meeting.” I turned around and headed inside for the lift, with Ashley and the guards following behind me at my pace. “It won't be that long,” I said, “I don't intend to sit that long talking with that greedy, old bastard.” The lift brought us up to the magnificent rooftop of my multi million dollar mansion. There were two sofas made of expensive brown leather and a small glass table between them. I sat on one of the leather sofas and Ashley stood beside me while the bodyguards mounted themselves behind me. Ashley's iPad beeped and I glanced at her. As much as I didn't have all of my daily schedule in my head, I knew I never fixed other things within my meeting hours. “Sir, the auction merchandise is here,” Ashley announced. I paused. Finally… I cleared my throat and then said, “take her to the room prepared for her and let her wait until I'm lorde.” The meeting with lord Fredo soon began and I was forced to go against what I'd planned. One hour… two hours… three… four fucking hours had passed and we were still discussing, arguing about unnecessary things which he just wanted to make a problem out of. When I could no longer take it, I stood up. “This is it,” I growled, “I have other things to do than to sit here arguing with your bullshit.” “You can't abruptly end a meeting with an elder lycan lord,” he challenged. “Let me remind you, I had this city in the palm of my hands before you came in.” “Well, look how weak those palms are now, lord Fredo. Wake up from your reverie, old man, your glory days are gone. I’m at the top of the game because I worked my ass off to get where you never could—” I went closer to him, resting a foot on the arm of the cushion where he sat. “Your men will not stop my men from any operation. They won't dare it. And compensations? Over my dead body will I pay you shit before I can build a project in this city. We have some borders, old man. Cross mine and I will personally tear you down. Mark those words.” I left with Ashley and my bodyguards made sure to take lord Fredo out of my mansion. It was already night and I felt so angry for not ending the meeting earlier. It could have saved me the stress of talking too much. My stomach growled when I checked the time and saw that it was past dinner time. I didn’t have any more plans for the day, so I dismissed Ashley and headed to my dining room to eat. The anger in my heart left no room for me to savor the taste of the delicious dinner I was served. After dinner, I recalled that my merchandise had been delivered some hours earlier. I guessed she must have already fallen asleep in her room. But I needed to be sure that the auction house hadn't messed one bit with her. Four years ago was when I had a terrible experience with them after they ended up giving me another merchandise instead of the one I bought. I wasn’t about to let that repeat itself. I couldn’t recall what the face of my new merchandise looked like, but her scent — that perfect blend of raspberry and wild dandelions was one thing I couldn't get out of my head. I reached her room and walked in quietly. I never worried about the door hinges because none of the doors in my house ever creaked. The engineers who built them were professionals. Her room was dark. I guessed she must have tried looking for a light switch. But there was none, the mansion had a voice control system. “Lights on,” I muttered and the whole room became illuminated. As soon as the darkness in the room vanished, my sight fell on her fast asleep on the bed. The blanket was drawn all the way to her neck, but it seemed she turned a lot in her sleep. Her left leg popped out of the blanket, exposing her thighs down to her feet. I went closer to catch a good glimpse of what she looked like, and as well, tucked her in. Getting close to her, that mesmerizing scent caught me again. I drew in a satisfactory breath. “Bless the heavens,” I muttered. My mind drifted back to the auction. My entire life, this was the first time my wolf, Bane, had gone out of control. He was asleep now, but what he said in the afternoon still rang in my head. “Don't let another soul take her, Lorenzo. At any cost, she must be ours.” I bent closer to her neck and sniffed again. My wolf purred with joy. Her scent had an aura of arousal and satisfaction as well. I could stay beside her all day. But it also happened to make me want more than just staying beside her, and I only realized that when I found my palms sliding over her thighs. “Fuck!” I muttered, withdrawing my hand immediately. My wolf had never been so desperate for a woman and I had never found myself going out of control for one. She was more than she looked.Jena's POVI jolted up my bed, my heart pounding with fear as I escaped a terrible nightmare. Beads of sweat trickled down my cleavage as I thought back to the gigantic wolf that was chasing after me in my dream.I placed a palm on my chest, feeling my trembling heart. “Fucking nightmare,” I cussed.I needed to take my bath. I hadn't had so many scary nightmares in my lifetime. As I climbed out of the bed, I noticed it was softer than usual. I felt it with my palm, it was too comfy. Plus, a thick duvet covered my leg. I only owned two blankets, I'd never slept with a duvet. My sight extended to the whole room and it was only then that I realized that I had slept in a room that wasn't mine. The heart I tried to stop from trembling began to throb heavily again. Where the fuck was I?I closed my eyes and tried to recollect. What had happened the previous night?“Oh shit!” I cussed when it started coming back to me. I was at the big mansion of the person who had bought me at the auction.
Jena's POVMy giant wardrobe stood before me as I raked it for yet another dress to satisfy Oli’s definition of fashion. She let out a sigh when the next dress still didn’t match the one she wore.“Some fashion sense would really go a long way for you, Jena,” Oli taunted.I chuckled and gave her a cute wink.“Don't worry, babe, in no time I'll get the hang of this whole fashion thingy,” I promised.“I pray so,” she said. I dey her hands on my hips from behind. “But, goddamn, you look super sexy in everything you try on.”I chuckled softly as I raised a red satin gown and scanned it. I’d always been one to rock any random dress selection. By the way, my job never demanded that I leave the house. If she hadn't wanted me to wear something that marched her's, we’d have been on our way to the party by now.The city where we lived was called the Liberal city. It was ruled by the council of lycans. Rogue wolves like Oli and I came here to escape the harsh nature of trying to survive in the w
Jena's POVI opened my eyes and all around me was total darkness. I couldn't see a damn thing, not the faintest glint of light. However, I could feel something on my body — a fabric covering my face.My hands were tied behind my back and all I could hear was murmurs echoing all around me.Suddenly, the fabric was yanked off my face and light flooded my eyes. When my eyes adjusted to the light, I shuddered. I was on an indoor stage and all the audience wore golden masks.Golden masks!A cold shiver made my legs tremble as something deadly crossed my mind. There were rumors about secret clubs where young girls were kidnapped and forced into indecent jobs. “The auction begins!” A female voice rang beside me, making my shoulders jerk.I looked to my right and my eyes met a middle-aged lady, dressed in a shiny purple gown. She wore tall heels and held a mic in her right.I glanced around for what she was auctioning. There was no special edition vehicle anywhere, no future tech gadget or a
