One

He was patiently seated, waiting for her for more than twenty minutes. He was undeniably losing his patience gradually and didn't hude his annoyed expression.

His stressed eyes didn't stop monitoring the golden wristwatch that hugged his left wrist.

He rolled his eyes as he was totally fed up of expecting her appearance.

It's supposed to be their first meeting, but he seemed to be less interested already.

He took hold of his glass of champagne that sat on the table and gulped down its content.

He stood up to leave afterward when suddenly;

"Mr. Alex!" he suddenly heard his name.

He looked forward and sighted her in a fast pace, heading towards his table.

He inhaled deeply and sat back on his seat.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry for the delay" she apologies and held the top of the seat to catch her breath.

"There was a bit of traffic on the way" she complained further and pulled out the chair to sit.

She placed her purse and files on the table that sat in their midst.

Her eyes suddenly met with the empty bottle of champagne and two glasses on the table.

"Oh my goodness!" she exclaimed, knowing that he certainly exercised a lot of patience while waiting for her.

She raised her head to look at him properly.

He was quite familiar to her.

His head was neatly dressed and gel to rest behind his head.

His deep blue eyes gave him a charming look.

His pink lips reminded her of her ex. Drake.

That seemed to be his only perfection. He was great at kisses too.

Her clumsy eyes seemed to escape to his chest. He had left two buttons out which gave her a perfect peak at his opened chest.

Taking one more look at his face, she recalled who he was?

How would she missed the handsome face she had known since childhood.

They had attended the same school as kids. They even shared the same neighborhood too.

He has been her childhood crush, but she never got the chance to admit it.

"Alex?" she called his name with familiarity this time.

"Have we met?" he squinted his eyes at her, curious to get an answer.

"Oh no!" she nodded sideways and grabbed the files on the table.

"I was only wondering if I could call you that" she added and began opening the file.

A waiter walked to their table and took the empty bottles and glasses.

"Get us another one" Alex ordered the waiter while he was referring to the champagne.

The waiter gave a bow and left the table, while Alex's eyes escaped to look at the woman at his front.

She seemed to be given him certain reasons for depression and how she can help him to get rid of it.

"What did you say your name is again?" he qiestioned her, as he seem to have skipped the introduction part.

"I'm Daphne sir" she said her name and continued with her earlier speech.

He seemed to impressed as she seemed to get something right. He lost someone dear to him and was determined to move on with his life.

Although, he feels hunted by the ghost of the dead and needs a therapist to help him resolve his plight. That is where she comes in.

He had placed a public post for a specialized therapist in depression.

She sent him her CV after seeing his publicity and they had scheduled a meeting, which brought them to their very table.

"From your files it stated that you are depressed over---Uh" she paused as they was nothing else attached to the word "depressed".

"What exactly are you drepressed about?" she muttered and kept a fixed gaze at him, curious to get his response.

He glanced away, looking at the next table beside them.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it here, perhaps we'll skip that part for later" she snapped.

She read briefly through the documents and began signing upon them.

She passed the documents over to him when she was done.

He signed them quickly and returned them.

"You shall be resuming tomorrow" Alex said with a cold voice.

"Alright then," she stretched forth her hand for a handshake from him. It was to signify their peaceful meeting and partnership, as she is to live with him until he recovers.

Alex ignored her suspended hand.

Daphne pressed her lips against each other and redrew her hand immediately.

Ever since she had asked the question about the reason for his boredom.

She seemed concerned about him all of a sudden and wanted to hear his story.

It seems she would have to get closer enough to get him to tell it to her.

The waiter dropped the tray of the wine and glasses upon the nearly dressed table.

He popped the bottle open and poured the liquid into the cups.

Daphne took hold of hers and whispered a thank you to the waiter.

She stared into the fizzling drink and perceived it's sweet scent.

"Thank you for the drink" she muttered to the man seated opposite her and began sipping the drink.

He scoffed at her and adjusted his suit forward.

He took hold of his own drink and began drinking it.

While they drank, they stared at each other, although pretended not to.

It was obvious, none of them had what to say to one another.

His eyes couldn't pretend not to stare at her.

Daphne was undeniably beautiful. 

Her curly dark hair was arranged to fall behind her back.

Her eyes wore a light makeup that revealed her beauty. Her brown eyes seemed to glow in the burning light.

She wore a pretty blue dress and black stiletto heels.

Her beauty reminded him of why he married his deceased wife Tiana.

He stood up all of a sudden, his gaze appeared restless.

"Are you okay sir?" Daphne had to ask as she noticed his uneasy action.

He drew out a cheque slip from his suit's pocket and left it on the table before her.

The man walked away from the the table in as he took his leave.

He had only taken a few steps away from the table, when he suddenly collapsed on the table.
