Zach watched with cold eyes as another man in his fifties approached Alex and introduced himself to her, ignoring the fact that he is beside her. He casually turned towards a waiter and took two champagne flutes and handed one to her after she shook the man’s hand.

“This is Zachary Montgomery, Mr. Brooks,” Alex introduced patiently. She smiled at Zach charmingly. “Babe, Mr. Brooks is into real estate and development. He’s currently developing a commercial complex due north.”

“It’s a pleasure, Mr. Brooks,” Zach said tightly, shaking his hand firmly.

“Montgomery?” The older man repeated, cocking his head. “Are you by chance related to Mont-Beacon Hospital?”

“Oh, he is!” Alex answered for him. She patted the man’s shoulders briefly. “You’ve got a great memory on you, sir considering the load of work you have.”

“Oh, it’s nothing, my dear,” Mr. Brooks boasted at her.
