Alex stood up when an elderly gentleman went up the bus on the second to the last bus loading station and let him occupy the seat she vacated. She smiled at him warmly when he looked up and thanked her for her kindness.
She looked towards the front of the bus when the vehicle started to move, silently glad that she decided to go with her usual and comfortable outfit. Today she had put on her comfortable, dark, slim-fitting pants, which accentuates her already long legs, leather boots and a long-sleeve collared white blouse. Her dark blazer is hanging neatly on her arm while she pulled her small sling bag in front of her to secure her belongings.
After thirty minutes of travel, the bus finally put on its brake and Alex waited patiently for those in front of her to go down. She put on her sunglasses when she stepped down on the pavement and then started on her way towards her office building.
She heard her phone suddenly rang and she reached in her pocket to answe
Zach was seething quietly on his seat as he looked through his office window right at the back of Alex Walters, who to unknown reasons, pointedly describe him as a boss from hell.“What the hell did you say?!” He demanded furiously, knowing well what she said but he wants her to say it again. He got out from his car and slammed the door angrily and looked back at her, his temper slowly dissipating into thin air. “Boss from where, Walters?”Alex looked at him nonchalantly as she got out from his car and put on her blazer for a while. She looked around the parking floor cautiously before turning to him.“I’m sure you heard me correctly, Mr. FBI,” she answered calmly. “I don’t repeat stuffs that came out of my mouth.”“Do you know that I can hold you for insubordination?!” He threatened.“Yes,” she answered immediately. She smoothened the collar of her blazer and put o
Alex quietly took off her jacket and hang it neatly inside her assigned locker down at the bureau’s indoor gym on a bright Wednesday morning. She placed her ID and wallet inside and finally closed her locker after grabbing her towel and water bottle and proceeded towards the activity area. Two weeks had passed since she entered the bureau as supposed to be a translator to retrieved and relay any information that they have. The arrival of the executive assistant director was something that she had not counted on.“What the f8ck is a CIA operative doing in my building?!” Director Vincent hollered the moment the door of the conference room was closed. He looked at her hardly for a long while. “What assignment did Marshall give to you, Walters? Did he plant you here to retrieved information about the incidents?”“Why don’t you ask him since he’s the one giving the order?” Alex shot back. She looked at the directo
Zach went out from his car the following day after a call was received by his office over two persons of interest inside the city’s busy shopping mall. He looked around the vicinity cautiously and watched innocent mall goers enjoying their time.He waited until Mark, Gavin, Thomas and Alex stood behind him.“Ready for your first encounter, Walters?” Gavin asked with a grin. “It could get ugly.”“No matter what you say, I can still knock out that grin off your face,” Alex replied behind him with a stony expression. “And, it will not be just once if I have to say. You’re more than welcome to try.”Zach hid the smile on his face as he recalled the sparring practice he had witnessed yesterday. After hearing from the director, Vincent Worthington, when he asked how he knew Alex, Zach had kept mum and didn’t inform his agents on what she is capable of. He decided to let them find out for t
Alex took her gaze off the scope of the rifle she is holding after taking the shot that hit straightly towards the felon’s head. She then stood up and handed the rifle to Damon, who stood guard as she took her shot through the clerestory window at the empty utility deck of the building.“I have to go down and go there,” she sated calmly. She dusted off the dirt that stuck to her clothes and picked up the empty cartridge of the bullet she shot, handing it immediately to him. “Montgomery’s going to have my hide because I shouted through the radio that back-up’s coming.”Damon automatically dismantled the firearm and placed it back on its case and hoisted it over his shoulders.“I’ll report back to the director,” he answered as he put on his cap and then sent a message through his phone. “Just update in the event the other person will talk once he will be taken into custody. I’ll call you in th
Zach leaned back on his chair in his apartment’s office that weekend night as he played repeatedly the footage inside the amusement café that occurred two days ago. He adjusted the settings of the video to make it go slow so he can see the trajectory of the bullet the moment it broke through the glass. He remembered when he returned the next day to continue assessing the area. He stood by the glass storefront where the bullet broke through and looked towards the open area. He took his binoculars and scanned through for the possible position of where the shot came from.He had concluded that only one person could be able to do that after he got the report from the ballistics expert on the bullet that went through the dead suspect’s head.A sniper.A damn good one. And, he has no idea who that person is.Zach picked up the document that Alex had submitted to him and read through it. He had to give credit to her as he read th
Alex opened her eyes when her alarm clock sounded on an early Sunday morning. She turned off her alarm clock and remained lying on her bed. Instead of getting up to go for a longer run, which she always does on weekends, she had no desire to do that. Thoughts of her interrogation with Zahid Kazmi has been bothering her ever since she had finished typing the report and submitting it to Montgomery. She kept on playing in her mind the interaction she had and relayed it to Damon when he met her at the park, late Friday night. “There’s something not connected with what we are trying to investigate, Damon,” she commented softly. She placed down the recorder after playing it the fourth time. “The Triad Sentinel is a European organization. Scarlett Syndicate is not.” Damon looked down at her. “They network, Alex,” he chided gently. “Aren’t you supposed to know that? Saood will look for a way to come here undetected. He did that to you, remember? It nearly cos
Zach’s eyes narrowed when he saw Alex being approached by one guest and started a conversation with her that night at Congressman Jamison’s office building’s function room. He watched as the man shook her hand a little longer than it’s usual and how Alex was able to pull her hand away.He couldn’t help but blamed her for the attention she is getting. As much as she had tried to remain uninteresting to blend in with the crowd, her height and built had made her stand out from the women attending the private affair the congressman had thrown. Her bright, emerald eyes also made the male-dominated guests looked at her longer, on the verge of becoming ill-mannered.“Why do I have to be there?” Alex asked earlier after Zach had finished his breakfast at the diner.Zach, on Sundays, will usually spend his day in his apartment with Jacinta or would go out for a drive and eat outside. Things changed when he received a call
Alex, after entertaining and talking with the visitors of Congressman Jamison was finally able to escape the crowd and hurriedly went to the bathroom. She made sure that all stalls are unoccupied, even if most of the guests were male just as a precaution, and went to the last one, securely locking it.She took her phone out from her purse when she felt it vibrating and saw Damon calling her.“Are you alone?” Damon then asked when she answered.“Yes,” she answered calmly. “I’m here at the last stall.”“Alright,” he then said. “The glock’s beneath the tank as well as well as two extra magazines.”“Where are you?” She asked after she took the firearm, raising the pants on her right leg and placed it securely on the band she had around below her knee. “Are you on your own?”“I’m at the building right across the park of the congressman&rsqu
