~Alaya
I take a step toward the door.
"Nope."
I turn back around to the comforts of my room. This has been an ongoing process for the past twenty minutes. Not once have I managed to convince myself to step out of this room and face whatever the morning has in store for me. Both Asher and Sinful's eyes are ones I don't want to look into today.
I'm mortified. Painfully, blatantly mortified. So much so, I've contemplated crawling back into my bed to spend the rest of the day wallowing in my own self pity.
How could I kiss him? How could I let Asher see?
Taking a deep breath, I mutter, "get it together Alaya, you have a job to do."
This time my hand
~AlayaNot only is the forest we walk into dark, but it's cold. Ice cold.Asher walks in front of me, no part of his gait suggesting he is worried about what he just did. He killed someone. No, he killed one of Sinful's workers. There is no direct path Asher follows. He just walks blindly into the darkness, that swallows us whole. The crunch of our footsteps on fallen leaves is the only sound I can hear, the entire place drenched with an eerie feel. How Asher can even see in this darkness is beyond me, as it gets to the point where I have to fist the back of his jacket in my hand as he blindly leads me forward."Care to explain?" I question breathlessly. His strides are much longer than mine, and the more I walk, the more I struggle to keep up. Soon, his s
~AlayaI'm not really sure how I should react to this strangers statement. He knows me?If he hadn't spoken, I would have assumed he was an Alpha of some Pack I have never come across. He has the stature of one; the looks. Yet when I look at him, I see something dark and sinister, something that I can't begin to explain. When I look into those brilliant blue eyes, I see a hint of a look of 'you have no idea what my secret is.'Reminds me of Asher."I'm sorry, but how do you know me, exactly?" I ask warily. A brief shudder of terrors tremors through my body. What if he knows about the entire plan Asher and I have fabricated? If so, then we are done for."Oh, sorry...I'm a friend of Sinful's," he explains, and I feel comfortable enough the exhale the tense air I was holding in. "He mentioned you to me. He's very fond of you."
~AlayaI woke as if I had been sleeping for twelve hours sleep. Refreshed and content. My body has silken sheets draped over it, as I lay comfortably in bed. As my eyes flutter open, I notice absolutely nothing familiar about the room. Then everything comes back to me like a slap in the face.My last memories lay in the eyes of Cyprian, the stranger. He had convinced me he knew Sinful, which may still be true, since apparently they are both as sinister as each other. He kidnapped me. He wrapped his hands around my neck. He had given me a look that should be reserved for some of most wicked people on this earth. Now I'm here, in a fully furnished room that is nicer than my one back home. It's even nicer than my one back in Sinful's territory. And that's say
~AlayaThe feeling of being knocked out by sleep is all too prevalent as I wake. In my my aching head. In my drowsy, lagging eyelids. Did I get hit by a truck?Memories from last night juggle between reality and dreamland. As I force my body into sitting position, the silky sheets slipping down to my hips, I attempt to decipher the unfamiliar language that is what happened last night. Whenever I attempt to brush away at the cloud that shrouds it, I'm only consumed in it once again. My available memories lead me to a point of being latched in the glacial eyes of Shanae. She had drugged me. The orange juice that has left a bitter taste on the back of my tongue is evidence to that. Now it's an unfathomable time of the day, and I've missed who knows what.
~Alaya"Drink?"My gaze stalks after Sinful, careful of every move he makes. I'm waiting for him to bring that knife out again so I have a reason to flee from him. I simply sit in a chair in front of him, my back pin straight, my knee folded over my thigh."I'm fine," I murmur. He doesn't get one for himself, either."I'm sorry you had to witness that, today," he says gently, his tone like silken honey, however, every hint of it reminds me of the state of Cyprian when the immortal was done with him. "But it was necessary."Somehow I doubt that. I may only know Cyprian for his kidnapping and trickery, but Sinful's threats meant something else. For talking to me? For touching me? The thought of it has made me sick to my stomach ever sinc
~Alaya Blissful softness welcomed me into consciousness.Blearily, I open my eyes, slightly blinded by the gentle morning light beckoned in by the undrawn curtains. The room I'm in is only slightly familiar, until my eyes land on the classic piano to the side of the space. I suddenly know exactly where I am.Sinful's room.Everything comes back to me in a wave, drenching me in a variety of emotions. My memories from last night involved Sinful, and Sinful only. I remember his eyes, so hazel and beautiful, and his touch. Especially his touch. And after everything that happened, almost every inch of my body is left with a blissful ache. But it's missing something. He's not my mate...
~AlayaMy emotions are all over the place, as I follow Sinful down the hallway. What if I don't really want to get my memories back like this? What if Shanae said something to me that will completely change my life, or that is a complete lie? All these questions fight to find place in my mind. No, I need to find out what happened that night, that was so important for her to take my memories away with that stupid drink.Sinful doesn't give any information away, as he motions for me to sit down. We are in his quarters again, safely away from a brooding Asher, who is doing who knows what right now."Are you sure you want this memory back?" He asks, misty grey eyes slightly wary.
~AlayaSinful was watching me carefully for a reaction, which I fight to keep hidden. This is meant to be the man that left me at the alter. He hurt me. Apparently. The feeling of surprise is one I let Sinful see, but the utter confusion, I keep to myself. He has to believe Aspen is the man that left me at the alter, even if I hadn't had this part of the plan explained to me. Another reason I need to strangle my mate.An idea sparks into my mind at that moment. An act of confirmation, to perhaps sell the story. But also, the urge to do this itches at my fingertips.I walk straight up to Aspen and slap him across the face.Everyone in the room is clearly stunned. Aspen clenches his jaw, t
~AlayaI watch a completely naked Asher walk toward the edge of the water, a sated smile on my face.Despite myself, I can't help but roll my eyes.He turns, glancing over his shoulder with a typical boyish smile on his face, knowing what just want on between us, as if he wants to proclaim it to the world. I lie back on the blanket he had set out earlier, ignoring him for a moment. I'm not sure why when I know he won't rest until I'm following after him.I don't know what spurred him to bring me out here, into a wood clearing where he had found a pond of water underneath a small waterfall. It's peaceful out here, compared to back home. The
~AlayaI have no other choice but to go to this party. The message on the other side of the invitation was the most incriminating information on me in this world. It made me feel sick to my stomach, but guessing by the signing off at the bottom, it made sense how this could be known. Naturally, I had to check, and once I had confirmed it to be true, I decided I have to go to this party.I just have to hope Asher will be here. This new discovery, as heartbreaking as it may seem, is something I have to inform him about. As my dress arrives, and I pull it out of its box, I wonder if he would even want to talk to me. He left me as his own decision, which I know is to help me get on with with my life, but after everything that I have been through, I'm not about
~AlayaI'm confused, surprised and also immensely relieved to see Asher in front of me.He looks at me, over my shoulder, then back at me again. I'm surprised he's standing here, confused that he got up here in the first place, and relieved because he's here to save me. I was about to leave and go who knows where, so to see him in front of me wants me to fall to my knees and cry.I had almost accepted I wouldn't see him again."You're safe," he breathes, sweeping a worried gaze across my body, before he focused his gaze behind me, at where I knew Micah was standing. As Asher brushes past me, I can't predict how he is going to respond.I tu
~AlayaI'm not sure what surprises me the most.Sinful is a jerk. I know that much already, though. How he managed to make my plan go from somewhat brilliant to absolute trash that I'm too far deep in to revoke. He always managed to do it in record time - I assume when Asher and I were back in the mortal lands. Cunning. Manipulative. All these things I already know about Sinful, yet it still crashes over me like wave that I may have possibly stepped into a trap. The next surprise to contest the former, is this utter stranger looking down at me. He definitely adds sense to the strange in that word. In some off sense, he reminds me of Fate, and maybe on a far stretch, Fate. That relation is probably due to his
~AlayaThe process is simple.Sinful strides around me, sliding a needle into the top of the small bottle. At least he has chosen a more pleasant way to take my life, considering how little he actually feels for me. We have a plan, which so far, is going smoother than I thought it would.I tore my mind to pieces last night, as I lay beside Asher, hating myself. I'm sure one day he will understand why I'm doing this. Even if it means risking my life, it means saving another. At least I have a chance of surviving. If Sinful goes along with the plan..."Are you sure you are ready for this?" Sinful asks, pausing to stand directly in front of me. I glared up at him, knowing why he is asking t
*Mature Content*~AlayaEvery thought in my mind is propelled backwards into a span of nothingness.I only really read about what happens between mates when they touch. Growing up in the Desire Pack, we grew up thinking the mate bond was a tie down. Everyone thought having a mate was no fun, and that once you found your significant other, your life would only get more boring. But with my lips on Asher's, I know that's not true. The moment my back touches the couch, and Asher looms over me, my mind begins to race. He has pulled away, looking down at me with a blazing golden gaze that could brand me more permanently than the mark on my neck, and a smile taunting, I feel naked already.
~Alaya"Your idea is stupid," Sinful says flatly."Well, I never said it was going to be good. But it is my plan, and I know you will do it," I comment, folding my leg over my knee.My strategy in this situation is to challenge him back. Sinful has me manipulated time and time again, so now, I know what to look for. He has a very easy way of smoothly gaining your acceptance, your trust. Now that I've had all that trust shattered, I know how to best avoid it.The easiest way being to stick to my original plan, and not let him convince me out of it."I'll do it, don't worry about that," he continues, raising a dark eyebrow at me. His gaze is more daunting today with the lavender eyes. "I'm just curious why you're sacrificing your life for someone you hardly know."I knew Sinful didn't actually believe Aspen was m
~AlayaPain. And a whole lot of it too. It's not the average kind of pain either. It sears right up my neck, like the lick of a flame, right to the base of my skull, heating everything up to the point I considered that my body might just explode.I grip tightly onto Asher's hair, not sure how to react. He marked me. I'm his now, and he's mine. There is nothing to change this natural fact that has brought us together as mate. Even if it makes me feel angry, even if it has me completely stunned, this is now a fact. I could both kill Asher and make love to him at the same time. When he finally pulls away, I use both my hands on his chest to push him back.I need some space right now if I have a chance of comprehending what just happened. Thinking back to when I first met the gaze of this golden eyed man, I would have never guessed he was my mate. Sure, our fates were intertwi
*Suggestive Content*~AlayaI'm still not sure about anyone in the room.Myle's offered us both dinner, but Aspen was the only one to accept. Right now, I don't think I would be able to stomach anything. Dawn seems kind enough, however, just the look of Coen makes me nervous. It makes sense that he is related to Kaden by how close their resemblance is.It's just the looks he gives me from across the room. There is something about him that I don't like. I just can't put my finger on it."Tomorrow, we can talk about what everyone's plans are," Myle's says, emerging from the corridor as Aspen just finishes what he was eating. "You both have been through enough. You need some rest."&
