Chapter Twenty Three_ The aftermath

Elena.

I woke up later that day sore but smiling. For a long time, the only thing that made me smile at any time was seeing Jaden or Charlotte. Playing together, playing apart. Seeing them in general.

Bits and pieces of earlier flooded my memories slowly at first, but then, like a waterfall, and I blushed as I remembered everything that transpired. All the dirty things I had said and done.

In this very room.

But I couldn't stop smiling.

I lingered in bed for a little while, reluctant to break the dreamy haze that enveloped me. Reluctant to remember the words Sebastian had said earlier.

Marriage.

When I did get up, I noticed Sebastian had tidied up the room and lain out new clothes on the dresser for me. Nothing like what I owned, yet I knew it was just for me.

I had crashed so hard that I hadn't even heard him when he tidied up and dropped the clothes. Or why he dropped this particular set of clothes.
