The thing about compromising....was that I was always one to compromise when I felt threatened.

Sebastian swirled the neat scotch in his tumbler, complete focus on the blond haired lady sitting opposite us. To be truthful, she had the attention of almost all the men in this particular table.

Sebastian was sensible when it came to a lot of things, his cars, his clothes, and his career - but he was downright rabid when he felt like he had been crossed.

With the way he ignored me since we came out of the car, save the few interactions with members of the public. He kept me like a lady kept a bag. Ornamental.

The compromise was to forget about all that he thought he knew, and we should focus on our ends of the deal we made.

"Daddy wouldn't like that. He spent a whole lot on that particular painting." The blond lady's voice reverberated over my ears like the sound of a pesky fly.
