MISSING HER

LAWRENCE’S POV

It was the loud blare of my phone that had awoken me from sleep the next day. I rolled towards the bedside drawer half-asleep and grabbed hold of my phone. As expected, it was Jessie. I glanced at the time. It was still very early.

I grunted wondering what the early call was for. But the call ended immediately almost at the same time as I made to swipe the answer button.

I rubbed my eyes tiredly pushing myself up on the bed. He must have had something urgent to say to me. If his call ended for reasons from his side, then I knew I must call him back at once.

As I dialed his number, a beep sounded from my phone signifying a new message.

It popped up atop my screen notifications and read, “I am sorry sir for waking you up. It was a mistake. Hope you had a good night? See you at work later.”

I chuckled. Jessie wasn’t one to make mistakes of such. I couldn’t help but wonder if his night was as eventful as mine. He must have still been in the hang of it to make a mistake.
