Chapter 5 - Flashback

sixteen years ago

- Luna – the warrior says, with a bow.

Raven hugs her friend tight.

- How many times have I asked you to call me Raven? You know that only in official acts I'm your Luna. In everyday life, we are best friends.

- You know that, in the first place, I'm a warrior of the pack; you are my Luna – she says, laughing and returning the hug.

- Come and have tea with me, Mary – Raven tells her.

- I can't, I have to train the 10-year-old class. That's why I came here.

Luna knew what Mary was asking for and interrupted her.

- Where is my favorite puppy? - the Luna says, peering behind Mary's back at a small pup clinging to her mother's legs.

Angel was two years old, the same age as Colby, Luna's youngest pup, and he was adorable.

Angel laughs, and when Raven opens her arms, he runs into her lap.

- Can Angel play with Coby, Domi and Kaus? – he asked in his baby voice.

- Of course, my Angel – she puts the little one down, and, she says – they are playing in their father's office. Go to them.

With an open smile, he shouts a “bay-bay mammy” and runs into the packhouse.

- Thank you, Riven. This pest just wants to come here and play. He cries if I try to leave it elsewhere.

- You don't have to leave him anywhere else. You know that I love this pup as if he were my son's twin.

Mary laughs, says goodbye to Rivan, and heads to the training ground.

When Raven enters the packhouse, she sees Angel slam the door and calls out to her friends.

Klaus opens the door, and Angel, looking at the alpha, says.

- Afa, can Angel play with them?

The Alpha laughs, gets up and takes Angel in his lap, kisses his face, making him wrinkle his nose due to the Alpha's beard.

- Sting - Angel says, making the alpha laugh.

He puts the little one down next to his pups, and everyone happily starts playing. Klaus, from the height of his six years, made others follow him as if he were a general and his warriors.

Three years later

- I can't go with you. I'm too young to drink. And I promised that I would come home soon after school to play with my brother and Angel.

- Klaus is a little puppy! Klaus is a little puppy! – The group of older boys made fun of the eldest son of the Alpha.

- Are you going to be the future alpha of the pack? What a joke. At nine years old, you should already be training and fighting. Are you an alpha or an omega? You're a joke, that's what. Always playing with babies.

Klaus looked at the group and tried to control the tears that wanted to come out. He loved to play with his younger brothers and his little friend.

- Tell me, puppy, how will it be? Are you coming with us or are you going to run to the playground? – the older boy says, laughing.

Klaus had to prove to those idiots that he was the future Alpha. Those were the most popular boys in school, and he couldn't let them think badly of him. At the height of his nine years, he decides to go with them.

Klaus tastes alcohol for the first time, and although alcohol doesn't affect werewolves like it does humans, he is young and has never drunk before, and he's a little touched. That day, he had a lot of fun and felt he's grown up and powerful. Drank, smoked, and bullied other school pups.

When he returns home, Angel runs into Klaus with a big smile on his face. Of all the Alpha's pups, this one was his favorite. He was so tall and always protected the younger ones. The pranks were always fun.

- Klaus – Angel says, hugging the elder's waist. – Shall we play Cowboys and Indians?

- Let go of me - Klaus says, trying to separate himself from the hug of the little one.

Angel looks at his friend with a pout.

- Don't you like to play with me anymore?

Klaus pushes Angel, and Angel falls to the ground crying. Colby and Dominic run to hug him.

- Stupid Klaus – Dominic yells at him.

- Why did you do that - Colby asks in tears.

- He doesn't let go of me, always behind me, clinging to me. I'm not a baby to play with you babies.

- Don't be mean, - Colby says. - You always play with us.

Klaus looks at the three little ones with disdain.

- I will never play with babies ever again. I'm a man. I have real friends now.

- Klaus? - Angel says with tears in his eyes. – are you angry with me?

- I'm not angry. I'm just not going to play with you anymore. If you insist, I'll hit you. You're nothing but a chubby baby. I bet you still wet the bed.

- I'm not a baby, and I don't wet my bed – replies Angel with his hands on his hips.

- Don't talk to me in that tone. – he says, raising his hand, and making Angel shrink, protected by the two little friends.

Klaus turns his back and walks away.

- I don't like you anymore, and I'll never play with you again - Angel shouts.

- Thanks to the Moon Goddess. - Klaus shouts back as he disappears into the packhouse.

- I'll tell Dad. - Colby says.

- Don't bother. I don't like Klaus anymore. I only like Colby and Dominic. You two will be my friends forever, right?

- We are brothers, more than friends. No one will tear us apart. - Dominic says, making the two youngest smile.

Angel uses the back of his hand to clean the tears, and the three of them hug.
