Chapter 41 - Jack POV

My son is dead.

It's my fault because if I had followed my heart, Ulric would never have been the alpha. But the pack wouldn't accept Jackson. They wanted Ulric, and I wanted to keep the pack united. I gave the Alpha title to Ulric. He was the oldest, the right alpha, after all.

When Jackson attacked the pack 12 years ago, I covered for him. So many years have passed, and I never expected him to strike again.

During all these years, we kept in touch. Hidden from everyone, hidden from Ukric, I fed my son, like a father is supposed to do, and told him everything that went on in the pack.

When he told me his plan of attack, I didn't object. It didn't affect me that he killed some warriors, but killing Ulric and his family was too much. They are my family, too.

Jackson trapped me at home. He said it was for my safety, but I think it was so I wouldn't alert the pack.
