I figured it was about time I called my friend and Beta into the office and talked seriously with him. It had been twelve years since he sent his six-year-old son to his brother-in-law's pack in Europe.

I loved that kid like he was my son, and I miss him. I still remember watching the four pups, my three children, and Angel, my Beta's son, play on my office floor.

I disagreed with my Beta's decision to send his only son away, but I understood my friend's decision. He had just lost his mate and didn't feel the strength to be my Beta and father at the same time. I never thought he'd let his son reach adulthood far away, so I decided to intervene.

When there was a knock on the door, I knew it was him.

Rat-tat-tat

- You may come in.

- Alpha! - Brady greets, showing his neck.

- Sit down, old friend. We have to talk.

I could see in Brady's face that he had no idea what I wanted to talk about, and that was good; it was going to take him by surprise.

- I wanted to ask you if you don't think it's time for Angel to come home. He should have already started training, or don't you want the boy to be my son's Beta?

- You're right, Ulric –. My friend answers me and rubs his face with his hands. – every time I talk to him by video call, I intend to tell him to come back, but the boy is happy in England. He has his friends and studies there. I'm always indecisive and never say anything.

- You know very well that he also talks to my children. The distance did not stop their friendship. I even talk to him from time to time. He's a good boy but doesn't belong in his uncle's pack. He belongs to our pack and should replace you when you retire. - I told him, showing the greatest of convictions.

- I'll call him today and ask him to prepare for his return. After all this time, I don't know if he wants to return.

- He will come back. He knows his future is to be my son's Beta. He belongs to the Lycan Moon Pack.

I let my friend go and do his Beta duties, and I sat there thinking.

Honestly, I imagined the boy had spent his whole life in the River Ash Pack, and it was going to be a hard decision to come back, but an Alpha can only hope.

Moving from a pack like that to ours wasn't going to be an easy change. They lived in a modern way. They had built a village in the middle of the forest with everything that any other human village has. Cafes, bars, clubs, and even a shopping mall. All things young people love.

My pack, despite not being small or poor, lived more humbly. We have a hospital, which is basically a maternity home, where our children are born. We werewolves rarely turn to doctors.

We have a large gym where our members go to train and improve their physique.

We have a school that serves students from the first year until they finish high school.

We also have several villas where our more than five hundred members live.

We are not a small pack, that, we are not.

About three hundred and fifty are trained to fight, and the rest are old people, children, and people who work different jobs. We have bakers, farmers, hunters, cooks, and all professions needed for the survival of a large pack.

But when a young person wants to have fun in a bar or disco, he has to travel many miles to get there.

Don't get me wrong. I could have all this done here in the pack, but I don't want to. Maybe one day my son, when he's the Alpha,he'll do it.

My pack would undoubtedly be a major lifestyle change for Angel.

My hope is that, before he's a young man, he's a werewolf, and we're social people. He'll want to come home, I'm sure.

I decided to stop thinking about it and pay attention to the documents in front of me. In addition to Alfa, I was also the CEO of a large company, whose headquarters were in the middle of Wall Street.

It was the pack's biggest source of income. Everyone received money for their personal expenses, and food was free. There were no poor people here, and I, as an alpha, had to do my best to keep the money coming in.

I basically work from home, and my PA, a human who is aware of our existence, spends time traveling by helicopter between the pack and the company, letting me know when I actually have to show up for business meetings and matters that I can only decide on.

To be completely honest, I would be lost without my PA, and I'm grateful that humans like him exist. I still have high hopes that someone will recognize him as a mate among our members, but that doesn't matter now. He wants me to turn him into a werewolf, and I probably will soon.

I was rereading an account report when my Beta contacted me through mind-link.

“Ulric, I just spoke to my son. He promised to return to the pack within two weeks. He says he wants to finish high school and say goodbye to his friends.”

“That is excellent news, my friend.”

When I ended the mind-link, I couldn't help but smile. I should have pushed Brady to do this a long time ago. I decided to tell my Luna.

“Raven, I have good news. Angel will come home soon.”

“When?” – she asks me happily.

“Within two weeks. Brady just told me. You have to organize a welcome party for him.”

"I got it. Let it to me." - my mate answers me.

I closed the mind-link and went back to the documents, but still smiling.

When my middle son slams the door and walks in without waiting for me to answer, I have to take a deep breath to keep myself from throwing a stapler at his head.

- You need help dad - he told me, making me forget the irritation. This son of mine was the only one with a business liking. The others spent their free time on the training ground or playing silly games.

He loves to sit next to me, reading and analyzing documents.

- Help is always welcome. - I answered him.

He gives me a big smile, which I love, and sits down across from me, hands outstretched.

I always have to laugh at his eagerness to read and review documents.

- These documents are from a business proposal. I don't know if the proposal is very advantageous for us. Can you review and give me your opinion? - I told him, passing a folder into his hands. I'm not closing this deal, but I want to hear Dominic's opinion.

He took the documents from my hand and immediately started studying them with a very serious face. I'm a lucky parent.

- Do you want to know very good news?

He immediately looked at me and nodded.

- Angel will come home in two weeks after finishing high school.

- vacations? - my son asked me.

- No. Forever.

I had my head down, full of shame. But Snow calls my attention,“Stop being embarrassed. You're going to be Luna of the pack. Hold your head high.”“You are very happy to have the title made for a woman. Do you want to be the mother of the pack that bad?”Snow scoffs and goes to the corner where he likes to ignore me.Klaus turns to me.- Angel, my life, my love, will you accept to be my Luna?I'm nervous, but I smile.- Yes, I accept.- Do you accept being the pack's mother, moon, Luna, and the representation of the Moon Goddess herself in the Lycan Moon Pack?- Yes, I accept.- Do you accept responsibility for caring for all pack members, yang and old, healing and feeding all, as a real mother does?- Yes, I accept.- Do you accept caring for the elderly and orphaned pups as if they were your own?- Yes. When he asks me for a chance, my heart skips a beat.I looked at him. God, he is so good-looking, and his words warm my heart.- I accept your proposal. I'll let you flirt with me and try to win my heart. I confess that I am not displeased. I'm not one to be attracted to men I don't know, but if I'm attracted to you, there could be something more between us.I see Dominic smile, and the smile reaches his eyes and changes color, leaving me intrigued.-Your eyes have changed color. - I say, curious.- Because my wolf loves you as much as I do. He wants to ask you if you agree to take a walk through the night, sitting on his back.- I don't know if I understand what you are saying.- Ray, my wolf, wants you to sit on his back and let him take you for a walk through the forest.- But I'm wearing my pajamas.- It doesn't matter. When Angel sits beside me, the courage to ask everything stuck in my throat seems to fade. I hadn't joined in the run and had waited patiently for Angel to return.Seeing Peter hiding behind his father and both of them going into the bedroom without even glancing at me, I felt destroyed inside.I don't mind that my mate is a man or a human, but he's not feeling the mate-bond, and that's a huge problem. How am I going to make him give me a chance?- Dominic? - I heard Angel say and looked at him.The tears don't stop flowing.Klaus, my Alpha, passes me and squeezes my shoulder affectionately, heading towards the packhouse to let us talk freely. A wolf doesn't leave his mate with another wolf, especially if it's another Alpha, but my brother trusts me and Angel.Angel pulled me against his shoulder, and I cried out loud. The sound of my sobs echoes through the courtyard, but I'm not ashamed.- I've been waiting for my mate for two years. Before becoming an adult, I had already dreamed o

When it was time for the ritual, Klaus let go of my hand and walked up to the stage, which had been improvised for the entire pack to see.I had never watched a title-passing ritual. I also didn't know how Luna's ceremony would be.I fixed my eyes on the stage, not wanting to miss anything. Dominic approached me, and I looked at him. He had red eyes from crying, and my heart squeezed in my chest.- When the ceremony is over, can you give me five minutes? I wanted to talk to you privately.- Dominic, you are one of my best friends. I will always have time for you.He stood by my side but wasn't looking at the stage. Out of the corner of my eye, I see that John and Peter are sitting next to Raven, and it's Peter he's looking at.The world takes many turns. The Moon Goddess plays some pranks on us, too. If I had gone back to England, it would never have been to be with Peter. It is destined for my mate's brother and best friend. What a mess. This would never cross my mind. I know Peter v

One more morning, I woke up alone. In a few days, I'll start spending weeks in New York, and then, in addition to sleeping alone, I'll eat all my meals alone. It didn't affect me before. I have never been one of those "desperately looking for their mate" guys, but seeing my brother's happiness moved me more than I expected. Maybe I'm mateless. I could have asked the Moon Goddess; maybe she would have told me, and then, knowing, I could look for a chosen mate. The hope of feeling what my parents felt for each other kept me a virgin. Nobody knows because they've seen me with some girls, but I want to save myself for my mate. Liking someone is nothing compared to feeling the bond.I get up and go about my daily business in the bathroom. I choose an outfit and get dressed. The white pants and tight T looked good on me. I comb my hair and leave the room. The packhouse was silent, and only the knocking of utensils being moved in the kitchen echoed in the air. When I entered, the she-wolves
