4: Mark Me?

A man was kicked causing him to roll on the ground. He was kicked by one of the members of the Madtail Pack led by Alpha Saerrus. "Tell me, who told you to mess with us?" The man on the ground didn't bother to respond causing Alpha Sae to growl, walk closer to him, and kick him causing him to cough more blood.

"Tell me!" The man still shuts his mouth and doesn't want to tell. Alpha Saerrus gave one of his men a sign to show the person's wife and kids causing his eyes to widen.

"N-no! Not my babies, please! I am begging you! I will tell you everything! It was Alpha Jack! It was all of his doings, we have been doing it for years now. He was eager to form a contract with you that is why he tried to cheat so you could sign a contract with us!" Alpha Saerrus raises his eyebrows in confusion.

'I can't believe he was able to escape from your investigation. He tricks you.' Rus, his wolf added.

Alpha Sae closes his eyes intently. "I am glad I didn't sign the contract yet. Those morons were able to fake his business. Good for him, I still have long patience." He looks down at the man on the ground with wounds and bruises. "Burn their house and kill your Alpha. I will let you live and will even pay you. Make sure no evidence can be seen."

The man was having doubts at first whether to follow his order or not but in order to save his family, he is willing to do everything. "Deal."

Alpha Saerrus is now in his car and closes his eyes as he leans his back against the chair of the car.

'We should go home. I want to see the lady.'

Alpha Sae suddenly remembers Denise causing him to let out a sigh. He orders his driver to drive him home immediately. After a few hours of trip, he set foot and looked around. Mr. Dane showed up to assist him. "Where is she?" Mr. Dane was having thoughts about whether to tell him or not about her as he is afraid that Alpha Sae might get mad at them if sees her doing something that will make him mad.

"She's in the hallway at the right, Master." Alpha Sae immediately went to where Mr. Dane told him. To his surprise, he caught Denise mopping the floor wearing her old dress with the other maids.

"What are you doing, Denise?" Alpha Sae's worried voice could be heard causing the maide to immediately stand up and bow their heads. They look at Denise whose eyes wide open after seeing Alpha Sae in front of her, assisting her to stand up and was checking up on her. "Who told you to clean? You should have rest by now! Did you eat lunch already? Why you're wearing that kind of clothes?"

"What is it, Alpha Saerrus? Of course, I would help the maids to clean because that is my work, am I right?" Alpha Saerrus facepalmed after what he heard. He looks at the maids beside her and speaks.

"All of you, continue what you are doing. And Denise, you will come with me. God, just what did you do to yourself." Denise was confused but decided to follow him. They finally reached his office causing Denise to lower her head waiting for what he was about to say.

"It seems you still don't know why you're here aren't you?"

"What do you mean by that, Alpha Saerrus?"

"I thought you already knew. I bought you to get out from Alpha Jack's hands so that I could be able to mark you as my mate and marry you." Denise's eyes widen upon hearing it.

"So you are saying, you just saved me because you just want me to mark me as your mate?"

Alpha Saerrus shook his head. "It is not like what you are thinking." He looked at her body and saw many bruises and scars. The wound that can be seen in her arms looks like she had just received it earlier. "Come here, I will treat your wounds."

Alpha Saerrus took the first aid kit and tried to treat Denise's wounds. The Alpha also studied some basic medics which is why he knew how to treat every wound and bruise she had. How to put some cream so her bruises would not be clearly seen.

"Hey, Alpha Saerrus."

"Hmm?"

"Thank you. I wasn't able to thank you earlier so I will take this chance to say it."

Alpha Saerrus looked at her and smiled at her. "It is nothing. Next time, don't try to take any cleaning materials into the mansion just to clean the entire mansion. You are here so you can be treated well, not to be treated as a maid. It is partly my fault too as I didn't instruct the other maids. Why did Dane let you clean anyway?"

"I was the one who insisted. It is not Mr. Dane's fault."

'You are lucky to find someone that is kind and hardworking. You should treat her better,' his wolf added causing Alpha Saerrus to smile.

"Your wounds are fine now, if you still haven't eaten, you can eat with me."

Denise followed Alpha Saerrus's footsteps, when the Alpha noticed that the lady was walking behind him, he stopped and held the lady's hand causing Denise to feel awkward and shy at the same time.

After the two of them eat. Alpha Saerrus decided to note all of the things that the lady needed. She lets her in her room now to take a rest. He was background checking about her past but he didn't find anything. Everything was just all about the years that Alpha Jack enslaved and used her like a toy.

'Why don't you mark her immediately? Do you want another wolf will try to mark her before you?'

Alpha Saerrus let out a sigh and replied to his wolf's statement. 'We must not rush things, calm yourself, man.' Alpha Saerrus could hear the whimper that his wold gave him. He knows that he must meet what his wolf needs but he must not act recklessly. The lady still needs time and space and he must respect that.
