"You're lying." Even stated sternly.
Mayari stayed silent and continue to walk, ignoring him as she played deaf. Then she suddenly stopped when Evan tugged her wrist and faced her towards him.
"Tell me, Mayari, what did you saw?" Evan asked calmly.
"I saw nothing, your highness." Mayari replied.
She may look like she is telling the truth but Evan knew better. The way she looked at the river like she was looking for someone or something prove his point.
"I know you saw something."
"I don't know what you are talking about." Mayari coldly commented.
"Mayari... don't you trust me?" Evan's voice was laced with disappointment.
Mayari once again didn't reply and pulled her wrist away from Evan's grip, then she continued to walk away.
"I'll take that as a no." Evan mumbled but it was loud enough for Mayar
It was a bright morning as the sun continued to shine above the snowy forest of Yuver. It's golden ray brought illuminating light to the vast woodland of snow-coated trees where winter never leaves. The trees' upper frosty leaves glowed so ever white as the sunlight brush at their exposed surface like brilliant gems, sparkling before your eyes. But even though the sun god have emerged from his slumber, dark shadows are still found beneath the trees, rocks, and caverns where his warm and emitting luminosity never have the chance to shone upon those looming void of dusk. The day was fair with a strange comfortable silence lingering around the light atmosphere upon the terrain of the snowy forest. This was the day where Evan and Mayari decided to explore the other area of the mysterious yet beautiful woodland and try to find any clue or hint that will show them the way toward the exit so they could finally escape.
Mayari watch as the sky slowly shift to a dark shade of blue, the stars slowly peep out one by one in the darkness and the faint crescent moon slowly appeared in the sky. It was quiet and relaxing as the night came again in the forest but Mayari can't let her guard down yet. Then suddenly, Evan came out of the trees and frantically run towards her, every step he took are heavy and loud against the snow, that caught Mayari's attention making her avert her gaze towards him. He is holding his stomach in pain and that didn't tooked Mayari seconds to know that he's injured. Mayari run towards him, halfway they meet, and Evan's knees fell down to the snow as Mayari reach him. "What happened?" Mayari calm tone asked as she bend down to him. "The spirits attack once again, they are very powerful and dangerous." Evan replied. Noticing Mayari has no respond, he quickly grabbed her left arm and pull her up to a stand. "We don'
From a window, a light suddenly flash through in the middle of the night as a luminescent beam pass by the curtains dimly but enough to be notice by a certain little girl. The light came from outside, followed with a loud sound of a familiar vehicle that stirred the girl from her sleep. The engine noise lingered for a couple of seconds before finally dying out. But by then little Mayari had already woke up."That must be mommy..." She lazily mumbled, rubbing her eyes from sleepiness and yawning after. Her father was away in that time for a business trip, he won't be back until next week so that left Mayari and her mother in the house. Her mother already mentioned that she will be home late and she doesn't need to wait for her but Mayari have a sweet habit to always greet her parents when they got home.So she rose out of bed, slip into her pink bunny slippers and walk towards her
"It's not the time to rest yet." A stern voice cut through the sullen silence like a sharp blade. Mayari opened her eyes upon hearing the cold stone remark, and immediately shifted her gaze from the leafless branch of the dead tree, that painted the gray sky, to the figure standing just a feet away. Her back is facing Mayari and her crimson dress softly waved to her side as the wind gently blew the red fabric. A few loose strands of her moonlit hair also swayed back and forth from the wind, while her deep ruby irises is glued to the lifeless lake ahead. "Go back." She bluntly said, "Who knows what will happen to you if it stayed in this vulnerable state for too long." By this time, Mayari's stood up and started approaching her subconscious self. Her subconscious heard her incoming footsteps, along with the crisp noises of dead grasses being step upon. Mayari stop just b
The two melody of different blades clashing together are ringing unendingly in the tense atmosphere of the night, in the cold forest of snow. Evan and the spirit boy fiercely weild their swords and magic, wanting to eliminate their enemy as quickly as possible, but it is easier said than done. Both foes continuously fought, and are aiming for victory. Burns, frostbites, scrapes, bruises, and bleeding wounds littered their skins but still they continue to battle as the adrenaline rushing through their veins fueled them the energy that is enough to keep them going. "Is that all you've got?" the boy provoked as he raise his scimitar and slash it at Evan. Evan quickly dodged and wave his hand to create a fierce swirling inferno that melted the snow above the ground, and set fire to the nearby trees. The boy jumped backward to keep a distance from the bursting flames, that's
"T-the p-prophecy of our beloved forest's f-fall..." the servant finally spoke, "has begun!"Yuvera instantly stood up from her flowery throne with wide eyes. Still in the state of shock and fear, she then ask the servant for confirmation."Are you certain?" Came her melodic voice that is being mix with terror."W-we are certain, your majesty." The servant answered. "The oracle have already confirmed that the 'Mistress of Destruction' have already stepped foot to our f-forest.""Don't tell me...""Y-yes, my Goddess." The servant stuttered. "The girl whom named Mayari is the one who will upbring our e-end.""Long hair that is as dark as the starless night, sun-kissed skin that glow under the sun's warm ray, and dark brown eyes that is as cold as ice and as deep as a neverending abyss that will swallow the moon's light." The servant told."
The sound of the of the rushing cold river echoed throughout the nearby surrounding as it continued to deliver its strong yet gentle current down its endless stream. Then the river was suddenly mixed with a light tint of red. Evan shudder at the feeling of his skin coming in contact with the icy water, freshly taken from the coursing river in front of him. Even so, he beared with it, his wounds are not bleeding anymore but he needs to clean it to prevent infection, along with the dried trace of blood that is sticking uncomfortably in his skin. At the same time, Mayari was looking for firewoods nearby. Light rain of snow covered the sky with clouds and snowflakes as Mayari ignored the pain in her back and neatly stack the pile of woods under a tree with lush white leaves. Evan said he would take care of the fire so she didn’t bother to try and rub a stick that will take her ages due to the cold. Instead, she went to the river to try and catch some fish. Only t
“Can you freeze this river, Mayari?” Evan asked as he gazed to the other side of the watercourse. They have been travelling south since dawn and the rain of snow continued to descend above them, bringing more cold to the icy breeze. Regardless, Mayari and Evan resumed their travel to find an exit. They know they are not safe anywhere in this curse forest.Without a word of answer, Mayari step closer to the rushing river and crouched as she took off her one of her gloves and placed her palm to the cold water, freezing it solid to make a bridge for them to pass through to the other side.“Done.” Mayari bluntly informed as she stood up.Evan was the first one to take a step on the ice, tapping his feet several times on the platform with force, to make sure that the bridge is hard enough for both of them to step on.After taking a few cautious steps in the ice, he then extended his hand towards Mayari, who only stared at him wit
"Have Ms. Helen visited you already?" It was an obvious question but Dr. Ashley still asked anyway."She visited yesterday." Mayari flatly replied from her chair."Good." Ashley smiled. "She have been really busy lately, it is good to know that she made time to visit.""What's the situation?" Mayari inquired.Dr. Ashley paused to arrange her herbs and ointments on the table before replying hesitantly."Umm... It has been quite... hectic." She heaved a heavy sigh and turned towards her patient. "The citizens from different kingdoms are becoming anxious, soldiers are passively bullying different races, and the enemy's army are drastically growing as the days go on.""Pardon me, Dr. Ashley." Lissy spoke up from beside her mistress. "May I asked something?""Yes, go on, Lissy." Ashley nodded. "You do not need to be too formal with me, I am just a mere local doctor.""Thank you, Dr. Ashley." The maid bowed in gratitude. "Why haven't the Royals attack yet? they have been planning for quite
"Welcome back." A voice, devoid of emotion greeted Mayari upon her wake.As always, the sky in her mind was a tapestry of swirling gray and blacks of cloud casting a somber mood over the dried grassy land.Laying under the tree, the air feels thick and heavy, as if nature itself holds it breath. The lifeless branches above form a canopy, their silhouettes stark against the murky sky.Mayari's dark bay eyes traveled from branch to branch, searching nothing in particular. Each gnarled limb, stripped of its leaves, seemed to tell a story of decay and resilience. The bark, cracked and weathered, bore the marks of countless seasons endured. She felt a strange connection to the tree's silent testament of survival, as if in its barren form, mirrored some unspoken part of herself. The air around her was still, amplifying the quiet reverence of the moment as she continued to study every inch of the lifeless monument. As she traced the skeletal remains of what once was a vibrant tree, something
The royal family including their army was forced to withdraw when the scale of battle tipped towards the favor of their enemy. The royals were unprepared and Adolf's forces have everything planned from the very beginning.Furthermore, this was not only a battle between humans. This is becoming a war of realms colliding and the abyss uprising under the ancient bloodline that once fell. Many have happened during Mayari's slumber, Elves has sensed the unease of nature and had come to conclude that a malevolent energy is gradually spreading from the enemy's nest.Even the Merfolks didn't escaped the abyss wrath, their once peaceful sea has been disturbed when creatures from the darkest depths suddenly left their inhabitants and swarmed towards shore, traveling in one direction, to Adolf's territory.Since all races from different nations has been affected, they immediately set their differences aside and joined forces to quickly make a strategic plan that would ensure triumph and the safe
A cold soft feeling embraced Mayari's body as she felt submerged in cool water. She regained her consciousness but she could only see darkness, and felt a bandage was firmly wrapped around her eyes, indicating that she haven't fully healed from her injury. Will she be able to see again? She felt a hand suddenly touch the bare skin of her shoulder. Alarmed, Mayari immediately grabbed the person's wrist in a tight hold. The owner of the hand yelp in surprise, then she suddenly called out her name."Miss Mayari!" A familiar voice spoke coming from the unknown person she have grabbed. She then heard several footsteps against the tiled floor, coming closer from different directions. Followed by the hushing sounds of different female voices whispering to one another."Miss Mayari, you are awake!" The said person exclaimed beside her. "It's me, Lissy.""I know." Mayari nodded in acknowledgement, whilst Lissy smiled."Wait here, Miss Mayari, I will go immediately tell the mistress that you ar
An audible gasped escaped from Mayari's lips as she stared with wide eyes towards the familiar man standing between Lucas and the enchantress, along with several black-suited men standing from behind.Evan took glimpse at Mayari, seeing her clench her teeth before he followed her gaze towards the said man.He too wore a black suit with gold chains dangling in his neck and a golden watch strapped in his wrist accompanied by several rings adorning his fingers. His hair and beard were a mixture of black and grey while wrinkles and signs of aging were visible in his olive skin, yet his physiques was mascular and well-built.He took a dragged of his cigarette before blowing a puff of smoke in mid air and pinning his gaze towards a certain kin who's eyes undeniably mirror his... Then he spoke with a stern cold voice that sent shivers down her daughter's spine."I'm not surprised." He looked straight at her. "You're alive but I bet you would like it better that your dead, Mayari."Mayari's v
"LET GO OF ME, MAYARI!!! NOW!!!" Evan shouted at the top of his lungs. Eyes filled with rage as it stared at Mayari's dark brown irises. When he finally shouted her name in anger, she suddenly felt her body flinched underneath him, her eyes held something he didn't expect to see from her— the slight flicker of fear. It was gone for a millisecond but he couldn't be mistaken. Her eyes held fear for a moment as he saw his angered expression reflecting from her wide eyes.Evan immediately realized what he have done, his anger slowly sunk as guilt started to pull his heartstrings painfully. He opened his mouth to apologize but no words escaped his lips when the droplets of tears that is threatening to fell from his ocean eyes came crashing down at Mayari's cheeks, and it cascaded down her face like several drops of warm rain.Mayari then slowly removed her hand from his collar and reached his face. With a single stroke, she wiped his tears away as she spoke."Clear your head." Her voice is
"Boys!" Helen called out to Evan and Jim. "I will clear a path, go to Mayari and whatever happens, don't let anyone disturb her spell."Both men nodded and quickly went upstairs while Helen fend off the arrows shot towards the two men. When they reached her, they immediately guarded her surroundings and block off every attack from swords to arrows."We'll take it from here, Mayari." Evan spoke."Just do your thing, May, we'll handle the rest." Jim said with a grin."I am ready when you are, dear!" Helen shouted with a smile.Mayari silently nodded, then she closed her eyes and concentrate her mana to her surroundings as her whole body started to emit a deep bright blue glow.Electric current then travelled in her arm as she held her hands in abdomen level. Then sparked a single ball of blue magic filled with lightning. Thunder begun to cackle with intensity as the ball of lightning grew between her lifted and lowered palm.Mayari's eyes then snapped open, her now glowing blue eyes tra
Bright light illuminating from the familiar manor greeted Mayari and Helen's eyes as they entered the large steel gate of the estate.Upon their arrival a servant immediately led Mayari to a different direction causing her to be separated from Helen.According to the maid, the guests have already arrived, residing in the main hall and since the bride and groom must be seen together in the party, they must use another entrance to avoid the prying eyes. After navigating thru the paths with twist and turns, they have finally entered the mansion. Mayari could hear the distant playing of music and the fancy chatter of nobles. After climbing a set of stairs and a short walk, Mayari was directed to enter a room."Lord Lucas wishes to see you. He is currently in the room with his servant." The maid informed. "He awaits your arrival, my lady."Mayari's sharp eyes lingered for a moment to the maid before moving to the double door decorated in gold. She held the handle and was about to do what s
Bundled in her beautiful glimmering red dress, Mayari watched in distaste as she tried to move but struggled because of the many layers of fabrics rendering her movements. Her crimson red ball gown flared as her very puffed skirt spread to the exterior of her dress. Her off shoulder sleeve were decorated with shiny rubies with rose patterns stretching down her waist. The sheer fabric used in her gown gave her a misty red look matched with her red glassy sandal. Her black hair was tied in an updo, ornamented with fresh red roses. Around her neck rest a golden necklace with red diamonds paired with other accessories that have similar design. Nails were also painted red along with the color scheme of her light makeup."Don't forget to wear your gloves." Helen chimed as she walk inside the room.A maid then handed Mayari a pair of white gloves, embroidered with patterns of silky white roses."This gown is too excessive." Mayari commented as she wore the gloves."It's your engagement ball,
