Rose encouraged me to take a shower first before bringing me downstairs for breakfast. I didn’t realize I was completely dirty and I really did need to get cleaned up. She even brought me a new set of clothes surprisingly similar to my style– jeans and a light colored blouse.
She took my hand as we stepped out of the room. She handled me gently and delicately. It was then that I finally started to appreciate her.
It was still very early in the morning and though I wasn't the slightest bit curious, she informed me that everyone was either still sleeping or training in the field, especially the warriors. I honestly didn’t want to know. Every damn book I’ve read about them seemed even more real.
And I hated it.
My eyes traveled around studying the house. Then I noticed it wasn’t exactly a house. It was a mansion. It was huge and filled with countless rooms. The halls felt endless and like a labyrinth until we reached the kitchen. The place was big and busy when we arrived. There were a lot of servants running around preparing for breakfast.
“Come.” Rose beckoned me. “Sit.” She gestured towards the kitchen island that had numerous stools.
I tensed when I felt many prying eyes on me. I avoided meeting their sight and looked down, only finding interest on the table. I just knew what their looks could mean and I was afraid of it. The momentary pause and silence made my heart beat fast.
“Back to work now.” I heard Rose clapping her hands as she ordered them to continue with their work. A moment later, a plate of pancakes with syrup and fruits slid towards me. “Eat.”
My head tilted up and met Rose’s kind eyes and small smile. I looked down at my food before mumbling a thank you to her. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, squeezing me in reassurance. I focused myself on eating while everyone was busy with work.
I realized that Rose must have held a higher rank here since they listened to her. After that warning, they tried hard to ignore my presence even though I felt them stealing glances at me. I only looked back up when Rose came and commented that I finally ate and even finished everything on the plate. She then gestured to me to follow her.
“What… what am I doing here?” She halted her steps and turned to me. My heart ached at her words.
“I will show you where you are assigned to clean.” My shoulders slumped as I looked down in dejection.
“Please… just tell me. I have a life out there. People will come looking for me and I don’t have any idea where I am.” I begged. I almost wanted to crawl with my knees and begged for an answer.
Her face straightens before looking away.
“I will tell you where you are.” A woman’s voice pulled us out of our moment. She was tall with long red hair that was up in a ponytail. She was quite muscular but not to the point that it was too much that would make it look unattractive. She’s beautiful but her dark eyes were looking at me as if I was a pest here.
I looked up at her in fear, our eyes met. I instinctively stepped back. As if my body knew she was a threat.
“Katarina.” Rose spoke. From the way she spoke her name, it’s as if she was giving her a warning.
Katarina took a threatening step towards me. I leaned back, making me step back a little more. “Welcome to your nightmare, little girl.” I heard a faint snarl as she spoke those words. I gasped in fear, stepping back more to hide behind Rose. My hands automatically clamped her clothes, creasing them in the process.
“Katarina, that’s enough! You are scaring her.” She scolds her.
“Why are you protecting this nuisance? You know how the Alpha feels about her?” Katarina somewhat growls at Rose. I frowned, realizing she’s disrespecting the elder. I didn’t have the guts to reprimand her though. I already know their kind and from the way she’s looking at me, she won’t hesitate to rip my throat out.
I suddenly remembered what happened that night. My fists clenched at the memory, making Rose’s shirt crumple even more. I swear I was transitioning into a monster like them but how come I didn’t feel anything right now, except that expected pain in my heart and body.
“I will be in charge of her stay here. And I will be the one to give her tasks.”
“The Alpha wants her to join us in training.” Katarina said, crossing her arms. There was an air of dominance to her stance.
“Katarina-”
“The Alpha wants her to join us.” She cut her off with a hint of warning in her voice. She made sure to emphasize their Alpha.
“I will talk to the Alpha then.” Rose persists.
Katarina scowled at her persistence. “Suit yourself.” She stepped back and made sure to glare at me before turning around and stomped off.
“I will talk to our Alpha. You can go back to your room and wait.” I nodded and scurried off. I was afraid that woman would come back.
I stayed in my room the entire time and waited for Rose. It didn’t take long when she came back and to my horror, Katarina was behind her when she opened the door.
Katarina sneered at me as she prowled towards me like a predator. “It’s time for you to train, little girl.”
I glanced towards Rose who had a downcast look on her face. “I’m sorry, dear.”
Katarina suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the bedroom and into their training ground.
“Crying will get you nowhere, little girl.” She said when she heard me sobbing as she continued to drag me like I didn’t have my own two feet to walk with her. Her pace was quick and heavy as if she was excited to see what's about to happen. And I fear it.
My eyes widened when we reached the field. There were a lot of people sparring that stopped to see the commotion that the woman and I were doing. I immediately looked down, scared at the prying eyes who followed us.
There were so many of them. There were probably hundreds. I didn’t know they really truly existed until recently and now, there were countless of them before me. My heart starts to tighten again in pain. I should’ve hyperventilated or had a heart attack a long time ago. It made me wonder why I haven’t. Is it because that man bit me and turned me into one of them? But I haven’t felt anything lately.
“Listen up!” The crowd immediately stopped and turned their full attention to us. She didn’t remove her grip on my arm. It tightened as minutes passed by. “This baby girl here is the new addition to our family.”
I looked up, stealing a glance at her. My fear grew when she sneered, her voice filled with malice and hidden agenda. My sight returned to the crowd with unending anxiety. By the way they looked and smirked, they had felt and understood the meaning behind her words.
I was not welcome at all.
“Caleb!”A tall dark haired guy with muscular build, strolled towards us. He had a boyish face and emerald eyes. His height was similar to others. Everyone was tall here and so were the women. I felt like a midget compared to them. “Little girl, meet Caleb. He’s the most skilled warrior here. He will spar with you.” Katarina said with a smirk. My eyes immediately widened. “Please…” I begged. She ignored my plea and shoved me towards him. I almost fell at the force she exerted but I managed to gain my balance. I looked up and our eyes met. Caleb looked at me with no emotion.“Begin!” Katarina shouts before Caleb lunges at me. I could hear their sniggers, taunts and laughters every time I fell or Caleb made a hit. I was bullied countless times when I was a child because I was weak. I didn’t have a normal childhood life because my actions were limited. People might’ve been harsh on me through words but they never hit me. They never resorted to violence. The pain was excruciating every
“Open your mouth.”I shook my head, sobbing. He freed his semi erect manhood. My eyes widened seeing its girth and length. My sobs were getting louder, tears fell on my face like a waterfall. “Open it.” He growled, grabbing my hair from the back of my head, tilting it up in the process. “Crying will get you nowhere.” He tightens his grip on my hair. “I’ll kill you if you don’t stop.”My lips shut immediately. It wobbled when I tried to resist the urge to cry. “Don’t make me repeat myself.”I squeezed my eyes shut before opening my mouth. He then positioned his cock to my lips. “Lick.” A burst of tears fell to my cheeks. “Lick like a fucking animal that you are.”When I didn’t follow his demand, he tightened his grip on my hair and shook my head in warning. And I did. “Suck.”I did as well. Until his cock was as hard as rock. Its veins were now prominent and the sheer size made me tremble. It was twice the size than before. My tears didn’t stop falling. It was humiliating. I have n
LucanDocuments that were placed on the table flew to the floor. Paperweight, pens and others shattered against the floor. In my fit of anger, I swiped everything that was placed neatly on top of my desk. The memory of war and deaths made my blood boil. The death of my parents and my ten-year-old brother– it only ignited my lust for revenge. That girl’s family was the reason why my pack had lost greatly. I had been observing them for months, planning ways to exact my revenge. Planning another war after the other will do us no good. We already lost so much just because they caught us off guard. They obviously have planned this for a long time, considering they made sure my beta and I were nowhere in sight.I found out that Henry Elsher, the hunters’ leader, and his entire family are hunters. His wife and his three daughters. I later found out that he has actually four daughters and the youngest did not join them. The girl had no idea that her family are actually hunters but seemed to
Nasrin“Dear, it’s time for you to get up.” I feel my shoulder being rocked. The movement made me stir and finally wake up from my deep slumber. The events of yesterday exhausted me and put me into a very deep sleep. Although it had taken a long time for me to finally close my eyes. Endless thoughts made me awake for hours– thoughts about my situation that seemed to be found in fantasy books, my family who obviously I know nothing about. Perhaps I do not know them entirely. After all, I was never treated as part of them. Something I’ve been denying for a very long time. Most of all, I thought about the Alpha. What he did to me was beyond humiliating. I knew that he loathed me but now I know to what extent. “Rose?” I looked at her, still groggy. I glanced at the windows. The sun barely rose. I already know why she’s here. “Come. Take a shower and I will treat your wounds.” She said while carefully and slowly assisting me to get up. Her voice was so soft and warm. She reminds me of a
“I hope you know your way in the kitchen. Do you know how to cook?” Rose asked as she guided me towards their kitchen. The first time I saw their kitchen, I couldn't help but feel impressed. It was every cook's dream.“I do.” I wanted to add that I love cooking but I was too shy to tell. She suddenly stops before the kitchen comes into view. She then turns to me. “I will get all your necessities tonight including clothes and toiletries. You need to wake up when the sun is rising and come down to the kitchen to help us. You can ask me anything regarding your tasks. Lastly… I want you to always listen to me.” Her words were firm but lacking edge. I wonder why she’s easy on me. I nodded. “Okay.”“Good girl.” She pats the top of my head like that of a child. We were on our way to enter the kitchen when a hand suddenly grabbed my arm securely. “Not so fast, baby girl.” The familiar voice brought a shiver down my spine. I felt afraid instantly.“Katarina.” She reproached. She directs he
LucanI watched Caleb, one of my best warriors, taught the human how to fight. Days had gone by, the girl had made a routine in my pack. With how everyone is treating her and how weak of a mortal she is, I expected her to break, instead she adapted. I grunt, walking away. Just as I settled myself in my office, Katarina and Julian arrived for our meeting. “Alpha.” They both said in unison, bowing. They started talking about their weekly reports as usual. Katarina was the first one to report considering there were updates and information inside the pack. Julian, on the other hand, gave me updates about his mission outside. Ever since the huge attack from the hunters, I sent him out to gather information. We have a reason to believe that our own kind was conspiring with the hunters. To top it all off, they made sure Julian and I were not in the premises while they attacked. My beta and I were at our prime, meaning we’re the strongest. My father was the Alpha back then but he even ackn
It was a surprise that Julian was accommodating to me considering he has a nonchalant attitude. He answered all my questions about werewolves as we toured around their territory. Their land was vast and the majority of it was occupied by the forest. Their wolves love to run with nature. I've learned a lot from listening to him. It's not only about werewolves but also about hunters and about the history of their land and their pack which is called Dark Moon. It seems not everything that I’ve read in books was true about them. Their world that I discovered intrigued me which is why I’ve never been more in awe; and despite being scared, I still want to learn more about them. That, and the fact that there’s a part of me that was accepting of this which was utterly fascinating and strange. "Your family… why are you not with them?" The question made me halt, a frown etched in my forehead. Julian stopped beside me and watched me with a raised brow. “My family and I aren’t really that
Nasrin“You’re distracted.” Caleb remarked, stopping our training.“I’m sorry.” He reaches his hand on my hair, picking up a dry leaf that got stuck. “You’re getting better, Rin. But you’re not focused right now. You fell a lot of times earlier, too. You know how much the Gamma will take pleasure in your downfall.” “I… I met your Alpha last night.” I said, hugging myself as the thought of him made me nervous and scared. “I guess I just feel unnerved. It was the first time I’ve seen him…” Since the night he admitted his plans to me, his fury, the pain he inflicted on me and the way he forced me to pleasure him.Caleb placed his hand on my shoulder, comforting me. “Hey, it’s okay. Think about it. Instead of putting you to cells, he lets you roam free and even gives you the time to train with me. Think about that, Rin. The Alpha…” He exhales. “Everyone here is just hurt and victims of the attack. I hope that you understand that isn’t easy for them, too.”“I know.”“Perhaps you can prov
“One day, Alina noticed it. She noticed that those thoughts had been gnawing at me. She then explained to me that Lucan was never meant to be with his fated.”I frowned. I was shocked at this revelation. What was the moon goddess thinking of pairing the Alpha to a traitor but then turned out they were never meant to be?“How is that possible? The goddess pairs her children for a reason.”Rin shrugs in response. “Believe me, I had asked the same question. She told me that I was different. The two of us created a bond etched into our very souls. She said that the moon goddess somehow favored me.”My frown deepened as I tried to process this. “I don’t think that answers the question. Does that mean Alpha Lucan was never meant to be with his mate from the start? If you had not come into his life, would he have remained mateless.” I said, piecing everything together.Rin looked at me, her eyes reflecting a myriad of emotions, but she offered no response. The silence hung heavy between us.
“How is that possible, Alina?” Rin voiced out, curling her hand tighter around her mate’s arm.Alina stole a glance at me and then back at the couple before us. “Anything is possible, my Luna.” Alina calmly answered. “And though I like to answer that question according to what you seek, I always do not have an answer to everything. For that, I am sorry.”After that fiasco in the Alpha's office, Lady Alina could have teleported back to her cottage. Surprisingly, she took my offer in escorting her back to her home.Alpha Lucan was still angry and dejected about it and Rin was still consoling him. I don’t know if she just accepted what happened or that the Alpha’s intense emotions overwhelmed her.“Tell me, Lady Alina. Do you really not know why I was mated to their daughter?”I made sure that we were further away from the pack and nearing her cottage before I asked that question. I didn’t want to risk anyone hearing it.“Of course, I know, Delta. I just didn’t want to let them know the
CalebThe Alpha’s daughter is my mate.Yes, that’s right. Nasrin’s daughter– my friend’s daughter. I don’t know why the moon goddess did this to me– why she made my friend’s daughter my mate. For goddess' sake, she’s like a daughter to me.I remember the first time our eyes met when I held her. There was a strange connection that I couldn't get at first. Eventually, I realized the connection was actually a bond– a mate bond.My emotions were a rollercoaster when I realized what it meant. I didn’t know how it was possible that I could feel it on a pup. A fucking baby!I didn’t know if I should be happy that I finally found my mate. Fate was fucking cruel. After that encounter, I was conflicted. I didn’t know what to do. I envisioned the future here in this pack as she grows older. I can imagine myself suffering, watching her grow into a beautiful fine lady. I could only watch her from afar and fight the matebond. Fighting is the only thing that I could possibly do. What would they t
It had been a few months after the successful celebration and the introduction of the twins to the pack with Apollo as the future Alpha of the pack. There was dancing, singing and a huge bonfire for the crowd. The flow of the drinks and food were never ending. And to my surprise, Lucan invited the Alphas who had been loyal to him ever since. That included my sister's mate. I was so happy she and her mate were able to attend the party. It’s not like he had a choice on the matter. The Alphas really made their presence known. As Lucan would say, they were always breathing down his neck. Either way, Lucan really made sure to spare no expense on the party. “Fucking finally.” Lucan growled lowly, relieving a sigh as he watched me put down our son beside his already sleeping sister. I glared at him. “How long have you been standing there?” I didn’t notice him standing in the doorway of the twins’ bedroom until he spoke. He shrugs, “I was waiting for them to finally fall asleep.” He str
A few days later, Lucan finally allowed my friends to visit me and the twins. My room was chaotic. They brought food, flowers and gifts for me. The room was filled with our chatter and laughter. I was surprised that the twins didn't mind being passed around like they were dolls. Rose scolded them a couple times for doing that but I understand that they couldn't help it. It wasn't only them that felt excited about their birth, it was the whole Blood Moon that celebrated. Lucan still didn't allow them to see our son and daughter. He wanted me to completely rest first. Rose already planned for the party once Lucan is convinced I'm fine. It was evening and everyone had already returned to their work. I heard a knock on my door. I expected it to be Rose bringing my dinner. I was surprised that it was Caleb that brought it for me. "I thought for sure you wouldn't visit me, Caleb," I teased. He laughs, placing my dinner on the side of my bed. "I was busy with work. I couldn't join the o
“Because I was ashamed." Tears fell from her eyes as she confessed. "I didn't know how to face you so I begged Alpha Lucan not to let you know. I'm sorry, Rin. I'm sorry for being so selfish.""No, no. You don't have to be ashamed. You saved me. You risked your life for me. Why do you feel ashamed?" I cried."Come on, Rin. I could have saved you countless times when they tried to torment you. You were sick and alone and no one to lean on. I just stood by and watched. I was no better than them. I don't even deserve to be here with you but my mate convinced me to face the only family I have left.""Then it's good that you listened to him. You have no idea how hurt I am when I learned about your death. I cherished you so much, Sky. You might have not helped me back then but you always never fail to let me feel that you're there for me. And I appreciate it so so much. That's why when I thought you died, it felt like there's a hole in my chest." I wiped the tears and snot from my face. I p
NasrinThe whole packhouse was in chaos when they heard my water broke and finally in my labor. Everyone was either excited or panicked– like my wayward Alpha for example. He was a mess. If I wasn’t the one who was in labor, I would’ve laughed at him.He didn’t look like the calm arrogant Alpha. He was anxious, fidgety and a whole lot of nervous.“I’ll be fine.” I squeezed his hand in assurance. I was trying to look fine even though I winced at the pain once in a while. He didn’t buy my words. He was extremely worried. He had called Alina to make sure everything was going to be fine. I didn’t object, especially knowing that my twins are not normal Alphas. She had told me that the delivery will be fine as long as I take care of myself while carrying the twins. And I did. Lucan made sure I did, too. I was always his priority the whole time. He was willing to leave his work for me. That’s why I was confident that I’d deliver the twins safely. “I’ll stop worrying when the pups are out a
We held our meeting in my office. He only updated me on the current events of the company right now. As usual, it was doing great and only had minor problems.Nasrin was with me during the meeting. She was sitting on the couch where we made the twins. When she learned that she's pregnant, the image of us on the couch made her extremely embarrassed every time she sat there. She always remembers it, especially that there was growing evidence on her belly. Aside from being able to watch over her there, I also wanted her to know the ins and outs of the pack, including the company that I let Roman run. Surprisingly, Nasrin was doing great being the Luna of Blood Moon. She was level headed and intelligent. She easily understood everything going on in the pack. She's relaxed and catches on real quick. And I love that she's cool and not quick to anger. It was so opposite of me.As much as I want to say it's because I'm an Alpha, I knew it was just my personality. It became worse when I lost
“You look like you're about to pop.” Caleb commented on Nasrin teasingly as I watched both of them interact in the living room of our packhouse. Ever since Nasrin and I got back together, I didn’t find the need to be jealous of my Delta’s care for my mate. It took a while for me to finally let go of that feeling but I understood that he just cares for her as a close friend. Although I can’t help but feel jealous at times. Nasrin is kind to everyone and she treats them equally with care and compassion. It’s probably one of the reasons why I find her so endearing. She chuckles at his comment. “I know. I look like I’m more than nine months pregnant. Alina said it’s because of the twins. They really tire me out.” She sighs heavily, leaning her head on the backrest of the couch. My heart aches for her. I wanted her pregnancy to be planned. She was in her early twenties. I wanted her to have time for herself. She has a lot to learn in this pack, as a wolf and as a Luna. Also, I wanted
