Chapter Forty-Two: A Fainting Spell

Raegan's POV

Fear, an emotion that hadn't ruled my body filled me up as I was dragged roughly almost like a prisoner to the cellar.

Behind us, Gunner and Lucas began arguing, and deep down I prayed that Gunner would somehow talk his dad into giving me some other punishment.

The guards roughly dragging me had paused to watch as Gunner kept on trying to pacify Lucas.

“You're a fool if you think this charade would aid in her release!” I heard him say and my heart fell but my pride just wouldn't let me cry and beg.

He walked out angrily and Gunner walked up to where the guards were before pulling me into a warm hug.

“I'm sorry you are going through this even though I'm angry that you did not share your plans with me but he’s doing all this just to break you so be strong Rae” he whispered in my ears.

“I'm sorry you have to go through this” he added once more before leaving me to my fate.
