I can’t believe we are here already it felt like we barely moved, I check my wrist watch, I noticed it took twenty minutes, I looked up at Antonio and gave him a smile muttering a thank you, because I knew it was a fifteen minutes’ drive at max from Anna’s apartment, He obviously took extra time as he must have noticed my nervousness, just then my phone rings and it’s my mum calling.
I slide to answer, “Catalina Brooks I am so proud of you I knew you would finally succeed and make him yours, good luck honey I love you” she says in excitement
“Mum, how did you know he is going to ask me to marry him?” I asked, absolutely surprised
“Oh, honey Christians mum called, she said Christian called her earlier today asking for her blessing, you have no idea how excited I am sweetheart, you’ve made us so proud, I have to go now honey, call me when it’s done, bye sweetie,” Mum! Mum! I sigh, realizing she ended the call already,
looking up i see Christian approaching my car he must have seen me arrive,
I step out of the vehicle and I see a well-dressed Christian, he wore a navy blue suit with a few buttons unbuttoned, perfectly shaved beards, he let his hair curl loosely not gelled back as he usually does, he looked perfect.
“Don’t wait for me Antonio,I would give you a call when I need your services, thank you,”
“no problem ma’am, have a lovely night” I close the door and watch the car drive off, and then I turn my attention to Christian.
“You look beautiful Catalina” he takes my left hand and gives it a slight kiss,
“Thank you babe, you look really good too,” I say, putting on the best smile I could muster up at the moment, my nerves causing my stomach to twist and turn.
He leads me into the restaurant and I realize it's empty, he must have reserved the whole place, it’s his restaurant anyway, he loves it here and automatically decided it was “our” favorite restaurant.
Didn’t bother correcting him, the food is nice but not that great, the meal is always too little and the steak a little too raw, definitely not my liking, but it’s all good, I always end up ordering pizza once I am home or at Anna’s.
He leads me to the back of the restaurant where there is an open garden with lots of flowers, there are candle lights everywhere, on the floor, on the walls, I notice there are rose petals on the floor creating a passage which leads me to a boldly designed petal of flowers which spell out “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” I turned to face him, and there he was on one bent knee with a beautiful diamond ring.
I could see my reflection on it, it was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, but here I was feeling like I am to be sentenced to life in prison, was this really the end for me?.
“Yes I would marry you” the moment I said the words a tear slipped from my eyes and Christian got up and wiped it with his handkerchief
“don’t cry baby I am all yours,“ he said, I smiled and he kissed me, he deepened the kiss trying to gain full access, I quickly pulled away, “I am starving,”
We began to eat, I was barely touching my food, I had no appetite and I was definitely in no mood for an under cooked meal.
“You said you’re hungry, but you barely touched your food,” he looks at me, worry evident in his eyes.
“I am just really excited,” I lie through my teeth. He places his hand on my cheeks and caresses my face, “you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, I love you with all my heart and I’m glad you are spending the rest of your life with me, you are really lucky, don’t you think so?”
I look at him and I have no idea what to say, I know this is not the first time he has referred to himself as such a catch and how much I am lucky to have him, the funny part of it is I always say “yes, Christian, yes! I am happy” but tonight I do not have the strength to belittle myself, so I just smile and take a sip of my wine, I begin to stuff my mouth with food to avoid talking , so we fell into a comfortable silence as we ate.
“May I have this dance?” he says to me, gesturing for me to take his hands, the music plays and we begin to waltz to the music,
“I can’t wait to take this dress off you, I would rip it apart and buy you the whole dress collection, I don’t think I have the patience to take it off you my dear Catalina,” he says to me in a low whisper,
This is the dress Anna got for me I know its replaceable but I actually love this dress and there is just one left, well I can’t protest because the last time I got angry with Christian he told his father and his father made sure to inform my father of my “incompetence” in his words, and my father made sure I got an earful, letting me know that the Montero’s can decide to tear down his company at the snap of a finger, since then I have decided to not argue and just go with the flow, my dad worked so hard to build his empire alongside with my mum, and Ryan is doing his best also for the company, how dare my petty tantrums ruin a life’s work, right?
He slowly runs his hands through the slits of my dress and finds his way to my core and groans
“I can’t believe you wore panties underneath, I guess I would just have to rip it off too” he says, giving me a cocky smile.
