Maya's P.O.V

I ate dinner as quickly as I could so I would make it over to Ethan's house before it got too late. I hated walking alone on the streets when it was late.

I was feeling very hopeful about the whole situation. Maybe because for the very first time, I was doing something romantic for him.

"You're leaving again?" My mom asks.

"Yeah, I forgot my textbook at Leah's so I'm going to grab it. I won't take long," I lied.

She nods and continues making her tea as I head out the door.
