Chapter four

I grabbed hold of Lisa and Benji's arm. 

"He's here." I say

"Who is?" Benji asks dumbly, before realising I meant my mate. 

I start walking through the crowds of people trying to find him. When I think I spot him I must be mistaken. No no it couldn't be. He turns to look at me with shock in his eyes aswell. Shanaya holds on to his arm.

"Dax where are you going?" she asks as he starts walking towards me. 

Then she see's what is happening. 

"No you are mine, you are not mated to this mongrel. You deserve the best, you deserve me." Her ramblings landed on deaf ears as Dax pulled his arm out of hers and walked closer to me. 

Lisa and Benji looked just as shocked as I do. 

"Rory are you sure it is Dax?" I nod to her

Lisa and Benji release me so I can walk to Dax.

We stand in front of each other just looking at each other. 

"I never thought my mate would be you." I say to him

"The feeling is mutual, however it is not our decision who is our mate." He says to me.

"Reject her, I order you to reject her right now." Shanaya starts shrieking in the background. 

Dax looks to her and then to me and shocking everyone including himself he kisses me. It was the best kiss in the world. It made my toes curl and when he runs his hand through my hair to hold on to the back of my head to keep me pressed to him. I step closer so our bodies mold together. Our lips part as we look into each other's eyes. 

Shanaya runs from the room crying. I step back from Dax, do I really want to be mated with Dax? His friends and girlfirend are jerks, do I want to be with someone like that? But that kiss wow, if that was how just a kiss felt I can't imagine what everything else would be like. 

I didn't know why but I couldn't handle all the eyes on us so I walked out of the room and outside where I managed to take a nice deep cold breath. Then I felt arms around me. 

"You Ok Rory?" Benji asks

"Yes I just needed a breath, I wasn't expecting that." 

"Just to let you know Dax wanted to follow you but Lisa stopped him letting him know you needed a minute. She did a Lisa and told him she knows you better than him and he better listen to her." I smile at that information of course she would do something like that.

I push Benji back a little from me

"You trying to stop me breathing?" I joked with him all while pushing him away because his hold no longer calmed me the way that it did before, only one set of arms would work for me now. Dax just saying his name gives me butterflies. 

Please tell me I wasn't going to become a huge softie now I have found my mate. That is if he doesn't reject me that is but so far so good. 

Lisa and Dax walked out and for some stupid reason I had a pang of jealousy.Then Tilly spoke to me "Don't be silly he is our mate he won't do anything to hurt us." 

I loved how nieve she was about all this but I was secretly hoping that she was right. 

Dax walked over to me. 

"Can we talk Aurora?" He looked around everyone around me

"Alone?" I nodded and he guided me to a private room. 

"Well I think it is safe to say neither of us expected that."

"I will understand if you want to reject me I know I am not a good fighter or strong."

"You have not even began your training yet we don't fully know what you will be like, the moon goddess is never wrong she paired us together for a reason. We will just have to work together to find out what that reason is." 

"This isn't some sort of joke is it, where i start maybe liking you and then you reject me." 

He looked genuinely horrified that I would think that.

"Is that what kind of mate you think I am?" he started to walk away

"Dax stop." He paused waiting to hear what I had to say

"Listen your friends and your girlfriend, well they were not exactly the nicest to me in all these years, and I don't exactly know you very well so I just had to make sure. It is my heart and life on the line." he nods in mild understanding

"We need to put the past behind us and start new, I can't have you bringing up the past to me every time I do something that pisses you off. We are just starting out and have a lot to learn about each other and I want us to give it a proper go, so how about we part tonight and go home and think about what we both want from each other and this mate bond we have."

"That sounds good." He starts to walk away but then it is like he can't help himself and turns around and puts his lips back to mine, then pulls away and walks back to the ball. 

"How did you two get on any mate?" 

"We didn't have time to walk around and find out it is ok we will go next month." 

"No you two go back inside and try see if they are here, I wouldn't forgive myself making you wait another month. We can talk about this tomorrow." They both look at me a bit sceptical.

"I am serious please go, I promise we will talk tomorrow, unless you find your mates and then I need to know that tonight." I smirked

"Fine we will go back in, you get home safetly and expect a call first thing in the morning." Lisa says. I give them both a quick hug and walk home. Using the walk to try clear my head I still couldn't believe that Dax was my mate, he was the future Alpha meaning I was the next Luna. 

Just when I thought this night couldn't get any more of a mess I hear from behind the bushes.

"You think your so special now don't you, now that Dax is your mate, well know this he will never want you, he will always want me and the faster you get that in your head the better it is for everyone." Then I saw a fist come flying towards me.
