CHAPTER 128

EMILY'S POV.

I stood in the operating room, mask secured and hands gloved, ready to perform the surgical procedure. The patient, under anesthesia, lay before me.

"Suction," I commanded, and the area was cleared with precision. "Scalpel," I continued, and the sharp tool was deftly placed into my hand, like an extension of my very being.

Everything seemed to slow down as I focused on the situation, feeling my adrenaline kicking in. I was ready for anything that might happen, and I felt confident that I could handle whatever complication might arise.

Within a few hours, I was done with the surgery and I shut my eyes tightly, letting out a deep heave.

I walked outside immediately and when I did, I spotted the men that had brought the patient. They were both in black suits, nose masks, and sunglasses.

“Hey.” I waved and they both drew closer to where I stood. “So how is he?” One of them questioned me.

“The surgery went well,” I reported.
