Chapter 82.

Chloe's POV.

Watching both of them duel wasn't the highlight that I wanted, I wanted to dwell in peace while I recovered and knew what I wanted to do with my entire life because then I would be able to perform my next move and know what works for me but right now I was acting crazy and I knew this.

Mendy smacked Lia in the face making me reel backwards in shock. This was too bad for someone who had never offended her in any way.

Deciding to intervene I rose carefully, taking measured steps towards them with my head held high as Lia retaliated.

There were a lot of growls between them and I didn't even know where to begin. If there was a way for me to make this part of my life short, I would have done it.

Lia didn't deserve to be ridiculed in such a manner. She was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met, and I wanted her to remain unscathed.

"You don't want to do something that you would end up regretting, do you? Mendy, I must have tolerated a few bad things

Without wasting any more time, I headed straight to the pack school. I wanted to cause a dysfunction, but what better way to do that if I didn't go straight to the Head authorities and hear what they had to say concerning what their teacher had been doing? Gaining independence wasn't as interesting as it sounded because it came with a lot of baggage, ranging from my children not still listening to me despite having called the principal's office, to having Mendy laugh at me the chance she got.It was annoying to say the list and sometimes I was unable to focus on what was more important.I felt like there was something more that I was not doing that made her have the upper hand and I was desperate to find out what exactly it was. This came as a shock to me as I moved around the house trying to make myself useful as Liam had spoken some days ago about me looking for things that didn't matter when I had more important issues to attend to.My consolation was the fact that she was not able to represent me when it came to prominent meetings such as these. I looked into the mirror and gazed at my reflection. It was totally lovely. Anyone would kill to be in my position even though I didn't think I wanted or deserved

I was grateful that I had taken Lia's advice on wearing the best number I could find because how was I supposed to face this enormous crowd with a rugged dress? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something like that happened, and I was kind of happy that I didn't take that chance. Color me shocked when I saw Mendy already seated. I didn't know when she left the house because I stormed off, and waited in the car. It was a grandiose setting, and I commended Liam for whipping up such a quick move in the space of a few hours. This meeting had to be important for him to involve the decorators and everyone who he could find. I had never been more proud of myself than I was at that moment but I was still a little bit skeptical about what this might mean. Did he want to truly show me off or he just used that as an opportunity to get me off his back? Aria and Asher walked in their dress and suit r

Chapter 88.Chloe's POV. "Good evening everyone..." I began softly, hoping that I was able to convince everyone here of my unplanned speech. "I honestly do not know what to say concerning this but I have to begin with the decor. This was a fantastic job and I'm not even lying about it. You have made it worthwhile. You have made it your own, even though you didn't need to. Sometimes I wonder how your mind works. It's great to see that I have talented people around me." I chuckled nervously, trying to buy time as I stared at my friend who nodded in agreement. Mendy's face was swollen in anger and I watched her pick up her phone. It wasn't too long until my husband did the same. They didn't even have the decency to pretend that they listened to me. "It is a great honor to be standing in the presence of a lot of brilliant minds and delivering such a speech. A few people might not consider this as important but I do, it's not every time that you are privileged to meet people of such hi

Chapter 89. Liam's POV. "Why are you frowning so much when you have such a beautiful wife beside you? She is better than most of the women out there and you know this so why the hell are you acting up as if she is not worth it." Alpha Brandon asked immediately Chloe walked away. I didn't understand the tightening that I felt in my chest when I thought about it. They were busy flirting in my presence and expected me to be happy? "It's not about that. How about the merger we planned on signing?" "I would like for us to sign it in your wife's presence because I do not trust you to relay the content of this message to her from what I have seen, she sounds like someone who is well informed, what better way to act if it isn't on the right track? I have a lot of things to talk about with her. I would also like my wife and her to become friends." Alpha Brandon replied with a deep look appearing on his face. How did I tell you not to go ahead without sounding like a bad husband?

Chapter 90.Chloe's POV. The moment our hands brushed I felt the rush that I initially did in the beginning of our relationship and wondered how this was even possible. I would never have imagined in my entire life that I would be speaking to a man who wanted entirely nothing to do with me yet he was busy smiling down as though we were old friends. I couldn't comprehend the fact that he didn't hate me. This was too much for me to understand and I honestly couldn't just put my finger around it. Had someone spoken to him and made him realize how important I was to him or this was just for show?Realizing that all eyes were on me as I refused to answer I smiled, getting into character and moving towards him. "Of course, I would love that. Thank you for asking me for this dance." I smiled at him, even though I was feeling a little bit confused about what was going on. The music started off slow before getting to a high tempo and I watched him nervously. I still didn't understand why h

I had come to realize that you didn't need to do too much to upset somebody who was naturally angry with you. "What do we have here? Is a concubine eavesdropping on a wife's conversation? I didn't think I would ever see the day when somebody would be so bold as to be a pest in another person's life. I guess when you live so long, like they say, you get to see a lot of things and even though the people involved do not act like it is something wild, I guess we just have to go with the flow." Lia spoke. Mendy waved her hands in my direction dismissively. "I didn't talk to you, why don't you face what is more important to you instead of engaging in other people's conversations? I don't really care about you Lia, it is my sister who does and I don't know why she even does that." The word 'sister' had me scoffing at her display of such aff

Chapter 92.Liam's POV. Waiting for Chloe's arrival was almost like I was waiting for the new moon to appear because I had been anticipating her return for so long yet she had not shown up. A little different from the person that I knew that she was. Stayed back to make sure that everything was cleaned but that shouldn't impact how fast she would come home like her usual self. Mendy had been acting a little weird, and I was beginning to grow irritated by her demands. After telling her exactly what I'm from Brandon had said she had this notion but I was only pulling her legs or trying to find out how loyal she could be when that was even far from what was happening. How she couldn't see that I'm not a lot to lose by my association with her instead of her sister baffled me. My ringing phone brought me back to reality but even at the same time I was still finding it hard to let go of a fact that the woman womb was always supposed to be with me no longer cared This was all of Alpha B

Chapter 93. Chloe's POV. Immediately my back connected with the wall in my room I started to cry. I could see Liam's confusion but he was not still ready to strengthen his resolve and send my sister away. That was enough to get me in my feelings, if he understood what he did by his actions he would not be asking me for forgiveness that I didn't have to give. I heard pounding on my door and I immediately wiped my tears, glancing at the mirror to check if everything was fine and luckily for me it was. I stopped worrying about my appearance a long time ago but now I was ready to bring back that part of me. It was getting almost interesting that I was losing my focus but, I decided to relax and just watch how things were going to play out then I would be able to make my decision based on that. I opened the door and saw my children looking at me strangely. "Can anyone tell me what exactly is going on here?""We are about to tell you but it is concerning Dad. Did you know that he has b
