Chloe’s POV.

As I got dressed for work, Lucy was still fast asleep. I considered waking her up, but she seemed distant lately, and I wasn't sure how to approach her. recently, she had been cold and distant. I didn't know what was bothering her, and I didn't know how to bridge the gap that had grown between us. I sighed and decided to let her sleep, hoping that she would come around eventually.

My mind wandered back to the previous day when Bryan shared the painful story behind his phobia. He had confided in me about the traumatic experience in high school, where he lost his best friend to bullying. The memory of his tears and his vulnerability still lingered in my mind. I felt a pang of empathy for him, remembering how he had opened up to me, trusting me with his secret. I finished applying my makeup, my thoughts still on Bryan and his story.

I walked over to Lucy on the bed and gently tapped her shoulder twice. She opened her eyes slowly.
