Liam’s POV

“Yes, she's okay now. some couples of hours and she would be awake” the doctor replied and a relief sign crossed my mouth as I gently sat back.

“Y'all can have rest of mind now as your patient is okay” the doctor declared with a smile glaring at my rogue and they all nodded.

As the doctor assured us that Lia would be okay, a wave of relief washed over me. I couldn't help but let out a sigh, a mix of gratitude and joy. The doctor's smile seemed to reflect the happiness in our hearts, and as he walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope.

But amidst the happiness, there was a tinge of sadness. Chloe, if only she could be here with us. The moment would have been complete, like lyrics fitting perfectly to a dance. But life had a different plan, and it hit us hard.

Jack's voice broke through my thoughts. "What are we going to do about Chloe?" he questioned. I inhaled deeply, feeling a rush of different emotions flood my heart. Uncertainty, worry, and determination al

With gentle force, I used my hands to push him away, and he reluctantly let go of me. I could hear the deliberate breaths escaping from his nose, indicating his own confusion and turmoil. His hands remained on either side of my neck, and his forehead rested against mine, his eyes still closed. I desperately wanted to say something, to make a statement, but my throat felt glued shut. I was at a loss for words, not knowing where to begin. And then, his voice broke the silence. "I'm sorry," he pronounced, his eyes flying open to meet mine. His voice trembled, as if he was on the verge of bursting into tears. In that moment, I couldn't understand what had come over him, what had driven him to kiss me so unexpectedly. I couldn't help but wonder if there was something more behind his actions. Could it be possible that he act

Chloe’s pov. I sat there, unable to find peace in my restless mind. The weight of escaping Jax Dean consumed my thoughts, leaving me sleepless and anxious. Seeking solace, I found myself lying on Ryan's bed, while he slept on the floor with a duvet wrapped around his whole body including his head.In that moment, I couldn't help but wonder if Ryan would be safe once I managed to escape from Jax. I knew the depths of Jax's cruelty, and the thought of him discovering Ryan's involvement terrified me. I wished I could suggest that Ryan come with me to MayHill pack, but deep down, I knew it wasn't possible. Still, the desire lingered, a flicker of hope in my heart.Suddenly, Ryan's voice broke through the silence, jolting me from my thoughts. “Are you not going to sleep” His question startled me, and for a brief moment, fear gripped my chest. How did he know I was staring at him? It was as if he could read my mind, and the realization sent a shiver down my spine."Are you a male witch?" I

Tears streamed down my face, leaving wet marks on my cheeks and staining my clothes. If anything were to happen to Ryan, I would blame myself for eternity. He did everything he did to protect me from Jax Dean, and I couldn't even do a single thing to save him from Jax. The guilt weighed heavily on my heart.I turned my head back, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, even though the cab I was in had already put some distance between us and Jax's pack. I held onto a glimmer of hope, praying to see Ryan again.Taking a shaky breath, I turned my head back to face the front, only to lock eyes with the driver through the rearview mirror. His gaze bore into me, filled with curiosity and concern. I stared at him for a moment, contemplating whether to respond or not."Are you okay?" the driver asked, his voice

My heart skipped a beat when I saw them shoot the man who had brought me to the hospital. The sight of his lifeless body lying on the ground, blood seeping from his wounds, sent shivers down my spine.Tears welled up in my eyes, uninvited and unstoppable. I desperately tried to open the door, but one of Jax's henchmen blocked my path. Liam quickly shut the door and ordered the driver to start. I glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Jax pointing towards our car. His men wasted no time and hopped into their vehicle, tailing us with relentless determination."Let's switch seats," Luke suggested, his voice filled with concern. I couldn't even find the strength to respond. All I could do was cry, my tears flowing freely. Chloes’s pov. I watched as Mendy shared an intimate hug with Liam, and my heart couldn't help but ache with hurt. It felt like a dagger piercing through my chest. Then, Scott passed right by me, heading towards Liam, as if we had never met before. It was a painful blow, considering how I thought he treated me like a brother. What had happened to our bond? Why was he suddenly acting like a stranger?"Welcome back," Scott greeted Liam when he finally reached him, causing Liam to break the hug with Mendy. Liam replied with a simple "Thanks," and Scott nodded in response."Scott," I called out under my breath, and he turned back to me with an annoying look on his face. Mendy also shot me a glare, as if I was some insignificant creature. It felt like a betrayal. We used to be like a family, but now they were acting distant and cold. If it had something to do with Liam, at least there was nothing between him and me anymore.Without saying a word, Scott turned back to Liam, flashing a brigh

Chloes’s pov. My heart raced as Mendy's words sent a shiver down my spine. I looked at her, trying to comprehend if she truly meant what she said. My voice trembled as I mustered the courage to ask, "What did you just say?" My eyes met Liam's, and I could see the same disbelief reflected in his expression.“I said I guess your laughter will increase when you realized how your foolish behavior took away your grandmother” Mendy repeated her words, and tears welled up in my eyes, uninvited guests of tears that betrayed my emotions. I blinked, and the tears spilled over, a bowl of sadness streaming down my cheeks. I struggled to make sense of her statement, my voice shaking as I asked, "What... what are you talking about?"Slowly, I turned my gaze to the front, my eyes piercing through the rearview mirror to meet Scott's eyes. But he only looked down, his silence speaking volumes. I shifted my focus back to Mendy, and the laughter that once danced on my lips was now replaced by tears.I

Chapter 55. Liam's POV. "Where are we going to?" Asher inquired curiously making me wonder what exactly the problem was. I was waiting to see what could be done concerning these children because they seemed to have a stronger mind of their own. Courtesy of their mother. Chloe influenced the kids because that was the only reason they would ask me such deep questions like adults. "When we get to this place, I want you to be well-behaved. If not, I'm going to take you back immediately," I told both of them Aria looked up at me, inspecting my eyes. "Are you serious right now?" My eyes widened at her language. Again Chloe was to be blamed. "I don't understand what exactly you are talking about but I just want you to be mindful of whatever you are doing." "Tell me what exactly you want. You cried that you wanted to come with me, and I allowed you, and now you're asking if I'm serious? Spare those languages for your mom." Asher looked at me as though I had said something

Chapter 54 Chloe’s POV My heart beat faster as I watched Chloe fall down on the floor, my eyes widened. At first, I thought she was joking until I used my leg to tap her ass, and she refused to lift her body up. “Chloe, stop joking and wake up. Stand up right now!” I lamented, praying for her to get up, but instead, her body remained on the floor. My heart started beating even faster. “Dad! Mom!” I heard a voice from behind, and I turned only to find Aria walking toward me, her brows furrowed. “Dad, what happened to Mom?” Her small voice yelled as she ran to Chloe, leaning beside her and tapping her forehead. “Dad, she is hot! She is feeling hot!” she screamed, and I had no option but to lean toward Chloe and touch her forehead. She felt like somebody who had just been pulled out of hot water. Sweat erupted out of my body as I raised my gaze up. “Aria, stand up. Go to your room. I will be back, let me take Mommy to the hospital,” I said, and she nodded, though she hesitated fo

Chapter 53 Chloe’s POV I hesitated, unsure whether I should assist Liam or not. My gaze lingered on him, filled with a mix of anger and resentment. Initially, I decided to leave him to his fate, but when he groaned in pain, my resolve wavered. I turned back to him, and a wave of sadness washed over me. Reluctantly, I chose to help him. I approached him, bending down to his level, and gently assisted him to his feet. I tried lifting him up, but he seemed heavy. No matter how hard I tried, he kept falling back onto the floor. I didn't know what to do as sadness bubbled up in my mind. I sat down beside him with a trembling body. Tears streamed down my cheek, I didn't know why or what made everything change suddenly. The Liam I got mated to is not the one sitting beside me. The Liam I know would never go out and get himself drunk. The Liam I know would never raise his voice at me, no matter what the situation was. But the one sitting on the floor was totally different. I cleaned th

Chapter 52 Chloe’s POV The silence in the house feels suffocating, and the thought in my chest refuses to lift no matter how much I try to distract myself. The kids are upstairs playing, and I sit alone on the living room couch, staring blankly at the window side. How did we get here? I run my hands through my hair, frustration building as the memories flood back, Liam’s words, his accusations, the bitterness in his voice when he said I’d caused him to lose so much. Every time I replay it, I come up empty. What did I do to deserve this? Where did I go so wrong? Blaming myself is easier than facing the possibility that Liam might be wrong. If it’s my fault, at least I have some control. “Mama?” I heard Asher voice, interrupting my thoughts, and I look up to see him standing at the edge of the room, his wide eyes filled with concern. “Yes, sweetheart?” I say, forcing a smile that feels like it might crack my face. “Are you okay?” He asks, walking closer. His small hand reaches

His lips parted as if he were going to say something, and for the briefest moment, I saw the man I was mated to. The man who once held me when I was breaking. Chloe’s POV The house was unusually quiet when Chloe returned. Normally, the laughter and chatter of her children greeted her at the door, but this time, only the faint rustle of maids working in the background broke the silence. She glanced at her phone as she stepped inside, hoping for a message from Liam, but her notifications were blank.Chloe inhaled deeply, forcing herself to relax. Liam will handle it, she reminded herself. He had promised to confront Mendy, and if there was one thing Liam excelled at, it was handling difficult situations. She pushed aside her worry and decided to make the most of the evening.“Mrs. Liam,” one of the maids greeted her with a polite smile, “would you like us to prepare anything for dinner?”Chloe shook her head, an idea forming in her mind. “No, I’ll take care of it tonight.
