Chapter 115

Chloe’s pov.

My mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions. I couldn't help but replay the scene in my head, where I heard Ryan's roar of pain. I was certain that he was the one who got shot. Tears streamed down my face, leaving wet marks on my cheeks and staining my clothes.

If anything were to happen to Ryan, I would blame myself for eternity. He did everything he did to protect me from Jax Dean, and I couldn't even do a single thing to save him from Jax. The guilt weighed heavily on my heart.

I turned my head back, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, even though the cab I was in had already put some distance between us and Jax's pack. I held onto a glimmer of hope, praying to see Ryan again.

Taking a shaky breath, I turned my head back to face the front, only to lock eyes with the driver through the rearview mirror. His gaze bore into me, filled with curiosity and concern. I stared at him for a moment, contemplating whether to respond or not.
