Ravens' POV

“It is time, Young Luna.”

I glanced up to find my slave maid Aella standing there. Taking a shaky breath I nodded.

"Thanks. Um.. I'll be there shortly."

She nodded. I waited until I heard her receding footsteps before dashing to the window, peeking out for any sign of the car.

The black Mustang was right below my window.

I put on a smile, then turned and walked towards the door.

"All right, let us go!" I called out to Aella as I got outside, who smiled and started the car engine.

I looked into the car, and my smile paused.

My husband was nowhere to be found.

I looked around; no sign of him. My husband, the man I love, he was not there.

I felt a growl in my chest, my wolf was upset and restless; it felt like she was pacing back and forth.

Obviously because Rune promised to bring me to the hospital but didn't show up

His mother, the current Luna, had promised that he would come to the hospital, and I believed her.

I believed he would appear, and the thought of it kept me in a sleepless frenzy all night.

"Is something wrong, Young Luna?" Someone's voice jolted me from my thoughts.

I looked up to meet Aella's piercing gaze in the mirror. It brought a smile back to my face.

"Y—yes, Aella." My smile widened. "I am doing well and okay." I turned to look through the car's window, watching the houses and people flash past.

"We have arrived, Young Luna." Aella announced after a while, and I looked around to see that we'd arrived at the hospital.

It was a simple building painted white.

A statue of a rearing werewolf adorned the grassy space in its front.

I watched her drive into a space slowly and turn off the ignition.

She turned to address me once more. "You will leave the vehicle and wait for me while I go to park in the lot."

I nodded and opened the car door unconsciously.

Suddenly, a blinding light covered my eyes, I raised my hands to shield my eyes, and that's when I saw a car sprinting towards me like a bullet! Heart racing, I froze in terror.

I staggered backwards in alarm, but before I could go far. All of a sudden, a man I had not seen before stood in front of me.

"Pull around!" He yelled so loudly that the man, whoever was driving the car, immediately stopped.

"Are you doing okay?" He turned to ask me. "I apologize for that, but were you hurt?"

I shook my head and nodded again. Did I fall or remain standing?

For crying out loud! I could not figure out what had happened. How did I end up where I am now?

I looked up to find the man staring at me with worry in his eyes. His hands hovered around me, as if to check for any wounds.

I flinched as his hand touched me. My eyes moved around, catching his features. His long, sandy-blonde hair brushed the top of his shoulders.

His beautiful bright blue eyes stared at me with worry in them.

He had on a tight black compression shirt, which outlined his biceps really well.

He was so attractive that I found myself staring at him for a long time. Finally, I pulled my eyes away.

"I am fine," I muttered. "My maid is right around the corner."

I saw Aella running towards me, concerned in her eyes.

"What has happened, my Lady?" She asked.

"Are you okay?"

When the man excused us, Aella gasped in shock and grabbed my arm, pulling me to a safer place.

"What were you thinking?" She yelled. "That car could have injured you.... or worse!"

I did not know how to respond.

I could still feel the shock, and all I could do was stare at the ground.

I hoped the babies were fine, at least.

"Let's go!" Aella said and led the way to the white building.

We caught up with the office soon enough, and following the doctor's examination, he confirmed that the babies were healthy.

I was very relieved at the news, and I let out a sigh before leaving the office.

We arrived at the reception area, and Aella stopped me with a hand on my shoulder.

"I have to get the car. I will be back." She said and walked away, leaving me standing motionless.

Everything that had happened just a few moments before had done enough for me, and there was no way I was going to take another risk that would cost me my life.

"Hey" A voice called out to me suddenly.

I turned to see where the voice came from. It was the man who had saved me earlier.

“I am fine, thanks." I replied with a smile. "I appreciate the assistance the other time."

"Oh, it is nothing," he said. " You do not have a stomach bump yet, but I suspect you are pregnant.

What is the condition of the baby? Did you hit your tummy? And what did the doctor tell you?"

"They are fine," I proudly informed the man, implying that they were two babies rather than one.

"The doctor has confirmed that they are fine."

“You know…” He started. "I was so worried about you and decided to wait until you got out.

I was almost even growing impatient." He smiled brightly

" Really?" I burst out laughing, for the first time in a while.

"Well, I apologize for wasting your time, but you should not have been concerned about me.

Especially since you saved the day and kept me from getting hurt."

He nodded, and my eyes caught his again. He looked into my eyes for a while without saying a word and I felt a flutter in my stomach that I hadn't felt for a long time.

Even a blush was creeping up my face. The man was so attractive!

In so many ways, he reminded me of Rune, whom I had loved my entire life.

They had the same charm around them. His blue eyes and Rune's looked so similar.

I knew I needed to end the conversation before it became too much.

I chuckled softly and broke my gaze.

"Ohh I can see your maid is here with the car."

"Ah Yes, she is." I replied, staring at his eyes again. "I have to go now.... And thank you once again for saving my life"

" Okay, now you're making me look like some super hero, I'm glad I could help" He said, looking straight into my eyes, and I chuckled, biting my lip.

"You're really funny"

"Thanks, I'm sorry for taking your time"

He nodded, bowed, and then turned around.

I smiled as I watched him from behind.

And just as he was about to leave my sight, I heard a familiar deep and husky voice behind me. "Who exactly is that guy?"

I turned around, surprised to see him.

My husband Rune, and he was with my sister.

"Lila?"

Raven's POVI turned to look at the confused maid. I rushed to the drawer, opened it, and found something even more shocking. Not only had Lila taken Rune from me, but she had also copied my lifestyle. The clothes in the wardrobe were the same as mine, and even the makeup brands were identical. How was this even possible? What was she thinking? What the hell did she plan to do?“My lady, are you okay?” the new maid asked.I didn’t respond, turning back to the closet before me. My breath shook with the effort to hold back tears. Why do I feel so insecure? Lila and I used to wear similar dresses to make people believe we were twins for fun. She used to borrow my things, because we were sisters. And now that we are grown-ups. I didn't expect her to still do this. It was as if she was trying to be me!Leaning against the wall, I wondered how I'd allowed all of this to happen. Why would she do this? Why did she want the man I loved so bad? RAVEN POVThat night, my wolf demanded that I calm down and rethink my decisions. I laid on the bed in the guest room, my heart filled with thoughts and questions.“Did you not force me to speak those words yesterday?" I asked, a sigh escaping my lips. "We both know I didn’t mean them."“I know,” my wolf replied calmly. “But I think you should take some time to think before making a decision. Rune is our mate, after all."What did I want exactly? Did I want a divorce or not? I asked myself this over and over. I stood up from the bed and looked at myself in the mirror, staring at the shadow of myself.Rune had reduced me to a mere figment of what I once was. But he had been my first love. My first everything! After much thought, I decided to speak with Luna, Rune’s mother. She might help me make up my mind and tell me what to do. She was the only woman who cared for me more than even my mother. And above all, I knew she would not convince me to make a decision that would harm me. No

Raven's POV“Raven, you need to calm down,” Rune said. His voice was desperate, but he had his temper and tone under check.Like he always did. He looked at me and I saw the indecisiveness in his eyes. The pain had started to creep into his eyes slowly. “You're not sure you want to do this…”Now I let out a chuckle. “What do you think, Rune? That I am not an Alpha also? In case you don't know, I could be an Alpha in my Father's pack, especially when I am the only biological child.”I folded my arms across my chest as I watched his face contort with discomfort.“So yes,” I said this time more fiercely, “I reject you at this moment as my mate. I will not have anything to do with you starting from this moment!”Without waiting to hear what he will say next, I turned and walked towards the door. I heard him try to say something, but stopped talking. Tears sprang to my eyes and my heart ached. But I couldn't let my agony show. “There is no need to stay any longer. I'll pack my things

RUNE’S POVRaven had left me. It was still difficult to make peace with. The first few days had been terrible. The pains that had left my body weak had been unbelievable. The pain of rejection hit differently…more strongly.I could not transform into my wolf form without intense pains and the feeling of loneliness gnawed at me all day and night. A few times, I'd come to the point of breaking down from the pain, but the moon goddess had been merciful and had seen me through the torment of rejection. Now I could only wonder what I must have done wrong to get Raven out of my life. I didn't want her gone. I didn't want to only have memories of her and not her presence. But she was gone. I stopped pacing and relaxed on the bed. My thoughts were drifting already. Did she really mean it when she had said the babies were lost? I thought about it, automatically sitting up on the bed. What was going on? I was on my feet and pacing the space, thoughts of the fact that I may have lost two babi

RAVEN POV Days passed, and life was never the same. Somehow, it looked like life in the pack of my husband's people was better, even though that was a lie. The only difference was the population and how I saw a member pass by the window of the room I shared with Rune. I had sent several application letters to the company I'd love to work with, away from my family's pack but I was yet to get a response.I'd checked my email several times and had not received any email yet. I checked once again during the day and sighed.“Help me, moon goddess. Make my burden less and grant me strength through this. Let me get this acceptance email,” I whispered softly. All that mattered to me at this point was working in one of my dream companies. I had applied at two of them since I was in the Illelth Pack, and it was as if I knew a day like this would eventually come. I was done with my moment at the screen of my laptop. My legs jumped on their feet and I observed my pregnancy routine, exercises

RAVEN POV It was only a week since I left The Illeth Pack. As usual, Mother and Father put up the usual attitude and I did the same, not caring about them, but that of my future. How could they understand me when they focused mainly on the woman who isn't their daughter, talking more about being a relative? It was another morning. I concentrated on the screen of my laptop. It had been a month since I applied for a job in these companies, and there was nothing to show for it. Was I supposed to be here for the rest of my life? I wondered with a sigh that ran out of my mouth, picking up my phone and checking through my bank app. The money in it was still much, and I would rent an apartment when I was ready to move out. With a smile on my face, I got on my feet and grabbed a towel from the wardrobe before heading to the bathroom for my bath this morning. While at it, I could hear the sound of my phone beeping. The impact of everything was beginning to tell me too much. With the babi

RAVEN POV “Isn't it late at night to be here?” Opening the door, there was Aella in my apartment. “Come on in. I'm sure you're cold.” I mouthed as I opened the door even wider, watching her walk into the space with a smile that was evergreen on her face. “Good evening, my lady.” I shut the door. Turned around and caught up with the couch she was seated on. “Not so fast. Is everything okay over there at the pack? Why are you here? You keep scaring me so much and I don't think I like it.” “My lady,” she looked at me. “There is nothing wrong if you must know. I just came to spend some time with you. I haven't done that since the operation for all that I can recall. How are you doing?” Relieved, I heaved a sigh. And just then, her eyes reached my stomach. “My goodness. It's bigger than I thought it'd be!” Crying, she adjusted on the chair, dropping her purse on the floor. “You look good on it too. You are still as beautiful as always if you know what I mean.” “I don't feel bet

After I parked, I hopped down and led my way straight to the living room, falling on the chair and heaving another tired sigh. It was a good thing to finally be home. Away from the wolves and one particular man who annoyed the hell out of me. What does he even want? Heaving a sigh, I snapped my fingers and a maid showed up. “My lord.” I looked at her face, realizing it was none other maid than Aella who smiled at me. “What can I offer you? Do you need water?” Bowing again, she looked at me while I sat up, thinking about words to say to the woman. What could she offer me? Like she didn't know what I wanted to be offered? But how could I spell it in block letters that I wanted my wife back in my life? “I want water,” after a while of thinking, I let out and offered back the smile she was offering. “Not so cold. Not so hot. You know what I mean, don't you?” “Yes, my lord.”I was left alone

They offered more greetings while I just walked away, heading to the general office for trainers like myself who had arrived. “Good morning,” I greeted the man from two weeks ago. “I have arrived.” Sarcastically, I mouthed and kept walking. “Where are the others?” Stopping in my tracks, I turned to look at the

LILA POV I was seated on the veranda, sipping juice from a glass when a maid walked out of the house. She had an apron on and this could only mean that she was supposed to be on duty. So why was she outside? Looking to my left, I figured out that it was Aella. How long would she keep doing this? As a matter of fact, it wasn't the first time I would see her leave the house with her phone in hand. The unfortunate thing was me not being close to the spot when it was happening. Now, I wanted to know what was behind it. Jumping on my feet, I acted like I didn't care. Of course, I did. Deep down inside of me but what could I do? I needed to know what she was up to before making plans to send her away from the pack. It was something I wanted to do so badly. According to my thoughts, this woman led the man I love to see a woman he should never set his eyes on. What could she not do? I caught up with a block and tried to listen to what she said to whoever it was, over the phone. “My la

RAVEN POV Lunchtime. Taking out the food from the bag I came with, I knew I needed to take a break. There was more than a lot going through my head at this point, but what could I do? I simply relaxed my back on the chair and opened the plate of food. And it was at this moment that I noticed something strange happening to the meal. Not the meal, but the office in total. What was I thinking? A piece of paper fell off the plate packaging, catching my attention. What could I do or say? I looked at the floor, wanting to be certain that I wasn't imagining things. There was a piece of paper. Confirming this, I looked around as though it wasn't my office anymore. And now I bent low so that my hand could reach it, snatching it from the ground and meeting the gaze of whatever was in the piece. “I know I haven't done well for myself or even you, Raven. But I look forward to the day we get to spend time with each other again. And I promise I'll treat you right, and not the wrong way I

RAVEN POV With time, I recovered fully. My stomach on the other hand got bigger by the day, and I didn't think for a moment that it would stop because, from the look of things, there was more to come. Another Monday morning arrived. This was the point when I got out of bed so that I could take my bath and be ready for work. There was not much difference in my body and somehow, I seemed to like this more than the other. Despite the size.It was still Rune's fault, wasn't it? Why can't I leave him out of my thoughts? Anger was the right word for how I felt when I snatched the towel from the bed and walked into the bathroom for my bath. Soon enough, I was standing in front of a mirror - wondering what outfit exactly was good to use for the purpose of my work on this day. A smile came alive on my face when I figured it out. I didn't stop smiling for one moment, but caught up with the wardrobe, opened it, and caught sight of the outfit I needed to look for. How ready was I to be th

RUNE POV So why did Mother and Father give me that look? I wasn't done with my food but at this point, I was more than ready to abandon it and walk back to my room. With a smile I didn't know how it looked, plastered on my face, I looked at my parents once more. “Is there any problem?” They looked at each other before looking at me again. “Why do you ask, son? Did we say there was a problem?” He looked at his wife and back at me. “We were only looking at you. Does that make a problem exist?” A sigh. A scoff. What did these people want from me? This was the reason why I couldn't tell them about my love for Raven. How could I, when they warned me so much from the onset? “Alright,” I chewed on a chunk of meat and gave a nod. “I hear you, Mother and Father.” Mother cleared her throat. “We just hope you're not planning to bring another woman into this pack, Rune,” she said with a smile I considered fake. “I'm sure you know we've had enough of your saga with the other gender. What could she possibly do? I didn't need the regular help as it stands. What I needed was help to get back the man I love for myself. And how could they help me with that too? I looked ahead of me after shaking my head a second time, catching up with the dining table where the Alpha was seated. So where was Luna Elizabeth? “Good morning, Father.” The old man looked up from the screen of his phone. At the sight of me, he smiled and I gave a

But you can't disturb his sleep at this time of the morning. He came back very late last night and needs all the rest he can get before leaving again this morning.” What were they saying? Why should I care if the young Alpha was sleeping or not? I had come to stay in the pack just as Mother advised and maybe talk to him about his change. Didn't I wake up early this morning to prepare to be here? I looked at the men, pushed one aside, and walked to the door of my room. When I walked into the space, it was cleaned.
