KALILA’S POV

I was still confused by uncle Lawrence’s attitude towards me when I felt a tug at my arm, it was Jeremy.

“Common, forget about it, let’s go.” He said, taking my hand in his and pulling me behind him.

“Where are we going, Jeremy?” I asked, trying to keep up with him.

“Just for a walk, to ease that angry mind of yours.” He replied.

I followed him and he led me away from the pack house, we walked for a while in silence before he finally said, “You can’t stand her, can you?”

“What?” I asked, not hearing him clearly the first time as I was still engrossed in my thoughts.

What if she had actually flipped through the last pages? She would have noticed that the handwriting at the beginning and the end were different. That would have compelled her instincts to read through it thoroughly, what if I hadn’t gotten there in time? I needed to be more careful now that Wendy was here, if she managed to furl out my secret, I was doomed.
