KALILA’S POV

While I sat on the bed in the evening thinking, I noticed something very disturbing. Ares was staring at me in a very suspicious manner and it got me wondering if I was a suspect to him. How could he even think of such a thing? I was the one who had saved his life after all. As I was about to ask him why he stared at me like that, he suddenly said,

“Dahlia, come over here. We need to talk.” His voice wasn’t friendly at all.

I obediently got up from the bed and walked over to his desk. I sat down on a chair and he rose and sat on the table right in front of me.

“What’s the matter?” I asked. “I feel like I’m being interrogated.”

“You are.” He replied with all seriousness. “I want you to be completely honest with me now, answer all my questions the way it happened.” He waited to see if I had something to say, I didn’t and he continued. “How did you find out that my drink was poisoned?”

“Why are you asking me this all of a sudden?” I asked accusingly.
