KALILA'S POV

As the Rolls Royce came to a halt in front of Ares's mansion, I mumbled a quiet "thank you" to Jeremy.

There was a strange look in his eyes as he turned to stare at me, studying me closely.

"Are you sure nothing is the matter, Dahlia?" he asked.

The drive had been silent, and I had said nothing. Jeremy seemed to sense my emotions and understand them clearly, as he didn't attempt to start any conversation.

"No, Jeremy, you've been so helpful to me recently. I can't thank you enough," I replied.

"Say no more, Luna," he grinned.

I shot him a stern look, and he released a chortle. Once I got out of the car, my mind again focused on the issue that had been bothering me all day.

As I entered the house, lost in thought, I didn't even realise when Angela slipped up beside me and took my handbag, as had become her habit. I only noticed her presence when I arrived at the bedroom door and almost jumped.

"Angela? How did you get here?" I asked, puzzled.

"I walked you up, ma'am," sh
