Sun shone through the thick clouds as I made my way through the pavements of Broadway. The city was large but the population continued to overgrow because of the population of more werewolves . The morning scent of fresh, warm cakes made its way to my nostrils and I took in a deep breath.

It smelled delicious and alluring but I could not get it for myself so I stepped ahead and walked into the building.I glanced at the time - perfect. I was not late.

"I'm Clara Darwin and I'm here for the interview for the position of the marketing manager," I said to the receptionist. She nodded her head and picked up the phone resting beside her.

A few words uttered out of her mouth and then she closed the call.

"Mr. Jameson is in his office. It's on the sixth floor to the right," she responded with a smile on her face. I nodded my head and stepped inside the glass elevator that took me to the sixth floor.

The building was large but I'm was amazed. I was thankful for landing on a good interview after getting fired from my previous job. I was fired due to some problem that was created between me and my boss. It wasn't an accident as I broke his nose purposely when he tried to touch me in places I didn't want to be touched. After that, I was kicked out. It was not fair, I needed to beat the shit out of him.

I didn't regret what went down in the office last week. Mr. Aston was an evil, old man who couldn't keep his hands of young girls. He deserved what was coming in his way. That fractured nose was going to teach him something and I was glad of that. I just wished I did more damage to his body and not his face alone

As I stepped outside the elevator, I noticed something, a thick scent of a wolf - it reminded me of the wolves I came across last night. Flashes appeared in front of me as I moved around the small place. I panicked, There couldn't be a wolf here. This area of the city belonged to humans it wasn't his territory. I argued with myself.

"Ms. Clara, I was expecting you," A man's voice made its way to my ears. I turned around and faced a handsome man with bold features. A wolf. My natural instincts screamed to run out of this place at once but I required this job. It was my only last hope for survival. My bills were due and I needed to land on a job immediately or else I would be in the streets sooner than I could imagine.

I bit back my scream as the man stood tall in front of me. He was a wolf, a wolf who had chased me last night. I could remember his scent, I could smell him but he couldn't smell me as I had control over my scent. No one could.

Get a hold, Clara. I reminded myself before pushing my hand towards him.

"Mr. Jameson, it's nice to meet you finally" I said with a sharp smile, so I wouldn’t look suspicious.

"Oh, please, call me James." He shook my hand with great pressure. A strange feeling trickled down my spin and I shuddered. There was a strong aura surrounded around this man. He clearly wasn't the Alpha I was running away from. "Come in, please. I was quite impressed by your resume, you have got quite a bundle of skills!" Mr. Jameson exclaimed as he walked inside the office. The warmth of his hand on mine still lingered after he parted it away. It didn't feel the usual-maybe it was because I had never touched another wolf I hope so.

He sat on his leather chair and smiled at me warmly. "So, tell me a little more about yourself?" My CV and resume were placed in front of him yet he wanted to know more about me.

"There is nothing much, everything is stated in my resume and CV. I snapped back. My confidence disappeared as soon as I came into terms that he was a werewolf. Just last night, the man sitting in front of me was chasing me down with his brothers. The thought of it made me quiver.

Where do you come from, Ms. Clara?"

Of course. My resume only stated jobs I had done over the past six years.

There was no information about me before that. It was six years ago when I moved Broadway to start a new life as a lone-wolf. I despised my pack, my parents and my alpha - they were absolutely deeming and disgusting in every sort of way.

"'I used to live with my parents a few

years ago,"

"And where was that?" His smoothly trimmed eyebrow raised at me with suspicion. God no!. Mr. Jameson was a well-known businessman here in Broadway but it was my first time meeting him.

"Just nearby...

"Alright. It's okay if you don't want to give details but I may inform you that we are required to do a background check before employing anyone in the company. If you're comfortable with that, we can continue and I can give you the offer letter." He explained.

"Of course, I don't have any problem!" My background was clear as the ocean. Not once I had landed in prison I explained.

Mr. Jameson presented me with the offer letter stating the terms for this job. It was a marketing position with quite an impressive pay. After going through the details, I signed the letter and handed it back to him. It stated that I had to start from tomorrow but Mr. Jameson seemed to have a different date.

"I won't be here tomorrow so we can start from next Monday," Tonight was the blood moon and male wolves were known to hunt down females and claim them as their mates. I preferred staying indoors for the rest of the weekend.

"No problem!" I got up and placed my bag over my shoulder.

"I'm looking forward to seeing you on Monday then, Ms. Clara".

"You too," Mr. Jameson.

I walked out of the building then and there. I was still uncomfortable with the idea of working with a werewolf - a specific one who had tried to hunt me a couple of times but it was just for a few months. As soon as my rent and bills were covered, I would leave and look for something else. I can’t risk anything for my safety.

Mr. Jameson wasn't the problem here, it was his Alpha that I was running away from - Martin- the cruel man with extremely impressive powers. The Alpha never came out for hunting me down, he only sent his men, his warriors. They all wanted my head as they found me dangerous. It was illegal to rest on another territory and it made sense that the Alpha wanted me dead.

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 120

Clara’s POV The moon rose red. Not crimson like blood, but deep — glowing like molten iron against the black sky. The light spilled through the curtains, painting everything in the room in shades of scarlet and gold. It shouldn’t have been beautiful, but it was. Terrifyingly beautiful. I woke with a sharp pain low in my abdomen, so sudden it stole my breath. For a heartbeat, I thought it was nothing — just another sleepless night. But then the second wave came, stronger, deliberate, like the world itself had clenched its fists around me. My hands gripped the sheets. My pulse stuttered. It was time. “Martin,” I breathed, voice trembling but sure. He was already awake. The moonlight had stirred him long before my voice did. He sat up instantly, the old Alpha instincts snapping into focus. His hand found mine, grounding, steady. “It’s starting,” I whispered, pressing my forehead to his chest. He exhaled through his nose, calm but tense. “I know.” Outside, the night had changed.

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 119

Martin’s POV The Elder’s words sat heavy in my chest long after she left. “The child will not just inherit power. It will change what power means.” I repeated it over and over in my mind as I walked through the rain-soaked courtyard, my boots sinking slightly into the mud. The sky above was grey and heavy, clouds pressing low as if the heavens themselves were listening. For the first time in years, I felt small. Not as an Alpha, not as a man — but as someone who didn’t fully understand what he was meant to protect. Elder Rowan’s cottage sat at the far edge of the territory, past the old chapel ruins and the line of pine trees that marked the border of our land. She’d lived there for decades — half healer, half prophet, entirely impossible to read. When I reached her door, I hesitated for a moment before knocking. “Enter, Alpha,” her voice came before my hand even touched the wood. Of course. She’d felt me coming. The door creaked open, revealing the dim glow of candles and th

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 118

Clara’s POVThe morning light came soft and golden, spilling through the curtains like honey. For a moment, it felt like the world itself was trying to apologize for how cruel it had once been. The house was silent except for the rhythmic sound of Martin’s steady breathing beside me.I should’ve been calm. Happy, even. But something felt… off.I sat up slowly, resting my hand against the curve of my stomach. The heartbeat beneath my palm wasn’t just mine anymore—it was stronger now, pulsing with a quiet rhythm that felt ancient. The air around me seemed to hum faintly when I touched it, like the whole room was listening.I shook my head, trying to laugh it off. “You’re just imagining things, Clara,” I whispered to myself. “Hormones, not magic.”Still, the feeling didn’t go away.Downstairs, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air. Isreal, of course. I smiled, tugged on Martin’s shirt, and made my way to the kitchen. He was there, barefoot, hair a mess, humming off-key as he pu

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 117

Martin’s POVThe Weight of Prophecy. The night air was sharp, carrying the smell of wet earth and pine. I walked away from the house quietly, leaving behind the flickering lantern light that spilled through our window. Clara was asleep—or at least pretending to be. She’d been doing that lately, breathing evenly with her back to me while I lay beside her, both of us pretending that silence was the same thing as peace.I couldn’t sleep either. Not with the Elders’ words echoing in my head.“The child carries the mark of balance. Where blood has fallen, life will rise—but if the scale tips too far, even the moon will weep.”Rowan had said it in that calm, unsettling tone of his, the kind that made it impossible to tell whether he was giving a blessing or a warning. The forest opened before me as I walked, moonlight painting the ground in silver ribbons. Every sound—the chirp of insects, the snap of branches—felt amplified, as if the world was listening too. When I reached the old stone c

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 116

Clara’s POVI knew peace couldn’t last forever. It never does—not for wolves, not for people like me.At first, I tried to ignore it—the strange looks, the way conversations paused when I entered a room, the way mothers held their pups closer when I passed. But you can’t ignore energy. You can’t un-feel fear when it’s thick enough to taste in the air.Martin tried to hide it, but I saw the tension in his jaw each time he came back from a council meeting. His scent changed—less cedar and calm, more steel and smoke. The Alpha in him was stirring again, caught between defending his mate and protecting his pack. And I…I was caught between the woman I was and whatever I was becoming. The first time it happened again, it was midday. I was in the training yard, watching the younger wolves spar. The sun was hot, the ground dry, and for a brief, golden second, I forgot everything—the prophecies, the whispers, even the fear. Then I heard it.A sound like a bell—but not from this world. It star

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 115

Martin’s POVThe change was subtle at first. The kind you’d miss if you weren’t a wolf, if your senses hadn’t been sharpened by years of reading the world through instinct instead of logic. The pack still smiled. They still trained, hunted, and laughed in the courtyard. But beneath that, something had shifted—an unease crawling through the air like static before a storm.I could smell it in the halls.Fear.Not of war or hunger… but of her.Clara.Every time she walked by, wolves fell quiet. Some bowed their heads in reverence, others looked away quickly as if ashamed of the reverence itself. The bond between us hummed with power these days; it was stronger than ever, but it also carried a weight that pressed against the edges of who I was.I had seen the light in her before, but that night—the night of the hum—it was different. When her body glowed like gold fire and the whole pack knelt… even I felt it. Not just love. Not just awe. But the instinctive submission of a wolf to somethi
